Been seeing this place, everytime I'm in town. Finally tried it, for an early Tuesday night dinner with my good friend. From the outside, this place looks like a night club. Inside, it's like an upscale high school cafeteria. Menu is pretty extensive with all the standards of any Slurp Joint. A bit surprised to see Dim Sum on the back page. We started with the Chicken Karaage w/Soy Garlic. It was so nice to have the sauce drizzled over the chicken, rather than drenched in it. Nice touch. My friend, who is more adventurous, ordered the Stir Fry Ramen, while I stuck with the Tonkatsu. About halfway through the meal, my friend was a bit envious of what I was eating. First time at X Ramen and wow it was amazing! The interior is super cute and gave off such a happy vibe. Our waitress was incredibly kind and attentive. She alone deserves 5 stars!! The black truffle pork soup dumplings were the absolute standout dish. Hands down the most flavorful, fresh, and delicious dumplings I've ever had ANYWHERE. The fried chicken was another hit. Someone told me to check out this fairly new spot. Outside, there's a mechanical ramen bowl and a cute boba statue perfect for pics. Inside, the walls are covered with cat canvases, and Japanese lanterns and umbrellas hang from the ceiling; giving it a fun, family-friendly vibe. I came with my kids and we tried a bunch of dishes. The pork gyoza was crispy but nothing special, and the pork bao had flavor but didn't wow me. The pork soup dumplings were a major letdown, deflated, no broth, and bland. I had passion fruit tea, but after all the ice, the portion was tiny and there was no fruit in it like you'd expect. My daughter wasn't a fan of the honeycomb tripe but liked the lotus leaf wrapped chicken sausage better. Another daughter loved the miso ramen, especially the mushrooms, and my mom tried the shrimp dumplings. We finished with tiramisu and mochi, but the mochi tasted stale, which was disappointing. Came here for Mother's Day for the first time and it was great. Very family friendly (TVs that at some point had Bluey on) with high chairs and ample parking. Kids have never been more behaved/calm at a restaurant lol We got a few milk teas (Oreo, Thai and matcha) which were really good and adjustable for sugar/ice. We didn't try the boba so not sure how those are but the teas were very tasty. Got a bunch of appetizers- edamame, mango salad, fried chicken Baos and scallion pancakes. The Bao was a favorite and has a nice spice level. Kids enjoyed the scallion pancakes. Mango salad was large and really refreshing. We got the chicken, tonkatsu and miso ramens. Everything was portioned well for the price and came out in reasonable time, even with 2 small hungry kids. They also had a deal where you get a lobster tail with every $40 purchase and we ended up with 2-these were also really tender and buttery. The ramen is a good size, with ample toppings and perfectly cooked noodles. The chashu is thinly sliced and caramelized. Eggs were nice and jammy. Great value, food and service. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. They do have a robot that roams around once in a while which is nice entertainment for the kids. We took a lot home in their cute and durable take out containers/reusable tote bags. They are a little far for us but hope to come here again. Really hope they stick around! read more

Confusing service and a shocking lack of description on the menu that led us to believe there would be food here the whole family could eat. At first, we were told that the "Vegetarian Ramen" was not vegan because it contained soybeans.... Okay.... ? Then, it was an issue of egg in the noodles. Fine, not unheard of, and they offered to swap them with rice noodles. Finally, well after orders were placed did they come back to say that there was dairy in the broth. According to them, this is a "traditional" addition, which I have never heard of before. I DO appreciate the full disclosure because that would have put me in a world of digestive hurt, but I left without being able to eat anything. They also bungled my mom's order, so she was left scrambling to eat quickly after it took another 15 minutes to correct the error, and we had a hard deadline. On the plus side, they've clearly invested quite a bit into the ambiance, and the chopsticks of distinctly higher quality than the average disposable set. The food is outstanding. The ramen is rich with umami. I had the Inferno Ramen.: a medley of pork, egg, Bok Choi, mushrooms, fishcakes, corn and seaweed in a rich pork-based broth. Our server was great - friendly and attentive to our needs. We sampled practically everything on the menu with few exceptions. The fried chicken was moist and tasty. Shu Mai, tripe, chicken feet, spring rolls, fried red bean balls were all very good. Our favorite was all the different varieties of soup dumplings. Pork gyoza ($8.00 for six pieces) . They were well fried but not really flaverful. Chicken stir fried udon ($12.00): completely insipid with bland, almost boiled chicken. Tonkotsu Ramen ($16.00): Thin and unsophisticated broth. Rubbery and flavorless pork. I think they use artificial flavor enhancers. My lips and tongue were tingling later. Much better than I was expecting. Good ramen, good dim sum. The all you can eat is worth it, especially if you value sampling various foods. Very little compromise for this type of food. Asian approved. The nigiri may be the weakest area, but in fairness I didn't sample that much of it. I go here for ramen, non sashimi sushi rolls, and the dim sum. The one criticism I will offer echoes another recent review: I too received some slightly undercooked chicken for a small fried chicken order. It wasn't raw, and technically safely edible, but nobody needs to ride the line like this when serving chicken. This contrasted from the other two orders I received (including the large catering order) where it was perfectly cooked. So it's either just a random thing, or a specific chef thing. Regarding the all you can eat pricing: take note of the Mon-Friday 11am-3pm schedule for the reduced lunch price. Dining experience is fine. Functional but no real ambience to speak of. Kitchen may benefit from some better ventilation. Service is good and friendly. Menu requests: some addtionial classic dim sum items like taro and turnip cakes, and custard tarts (better than custard buns imo) would be a welcome addition. Holy ramen! I am shocked how good this was. No need to have ramen when I'm back in the city anymore.. Finally have delicious ramen here. At a VERY fair price. Huge portions - 15 bucks. Both the miso and the tonkotsu were rich and delicious and not at all too spicy. The pork slices had a great chargrilled flavor and melted in your mouth. The noodles were perfectly cooked and SO many of them! MUCH better portion size than that other popular ramen place. Great ambiance, super friendly service and this week is the soft opening so they had free cotton candy machines and flavored popcorn! (free only during the soft opening). We picked up two bowls of ramen and an order of harumaki (spring rolls) tonight. In spite of the packaging, including the reusable semi-insulated bag, the ramen wasn't very hot by the time it got home, but it was easy to reheat. The veggie ramen was very good, but although the ramen itself was a substantial portion, there was only a small amount of (creamy?!) broth and very few vegetables. Also, watch out for the Fable "mushrooms," which are actually a processed mushroom product containing soy protein, coconut oil, and other ingredients that you may be allergic to or may not want to eat. We liked the harumaki, too, although they were $7 for three small rolls. The inside of the restaurant was bright and inviting, so we'll try dining in next time. We have done takeout at X-Ramen twice. Both times, the food was excellent. Also, very convenient, with special packaging for takeout so that the ramen ingredients are separate from the broth - you can easily combine them at home. I don't know what it's like eating in there but when I got uber eats my Ramen was very wet and soggy as well as some of my other dry food dishes. The food itself was decent but the sogginess and wetness made it unappetizing. Maybe try separating the dry noodles from the broth when serving Ramen to go, and adding instructions or recommendations to boil broth separate from the noodles. Within a few minutes, the main courses arrived. We asked about the appetizers and were told "they take longer.". We ate our ramen, which was tasty but the appetizers never arrived. When we asked (after having to flag down our server), he finally brought out the avocado salad which was inedible. Dried out chicken and wilted lettuce...how could this take longer than the main course! The dumplings we ordered never arrived. Our check was presented quickly with the server staring, "sorry for the inconvenience (which we heard him say to every table nearby). Then it dawned on us that this was the same server we had the last time with the same excuse line, obviously well practiced.
