Typical Chinese American food with some extra garlic flavor. I ordered the boneless spare ribs with pork fried rice and tostones with garlic butter. The boneless spare ribs were thick and not cooked to my liking, I prefer smaller, crispy pieces, but it had your typical bbq flavor. The fries on top of the rice were good and crispy. The rice was okay, but it could have used some seasoning. The garlic tostones were crispy and the butter was nice but I wish they used fresh garlic. My friend ordered a few rolls and they looked good. I liked the spot and it was easy to order and had plenty of space to sit down. They also have a Whale Tea so you can also get boba. Everything was literally just OK. I did not get the Puerto Rican fusion aspect to it. Sushi was ok, this is what I ordered along with the Kani salad. Sushi while "made fresh" it did not taste fresh and the ingredients were not of quality. I would not be returning. read more

It's been several months since my last review, and I have to say my recent visits have been way better. I'm honestly glad I decided to give them another shot. The fried chicken has been great lately: big pieces, super crispy skin, and really juicy and flavorful inside. Their tostones are always fried perfectly too, and I always get mine with garlic, yummy. Today I noticed they have a family meal that comes with 10 big pieces of fried juicy chicken thighs/legs, fried rice, and tostones for a really good price. Such a great value, this is definitely going to be my new go-to. Even the rice was full of flavor and not greasy. My daughters love their sushi rolls and teas, so that's a big plus for us. And since it's right by my house, it's super convenient. Overall, they've definitely improved, and I'm really happy I came back. I'll be visiting more often for sure! read more

This is a Puerto Rican style chinese restaurant that recently opened in Bridgeport. I was excited to see this open so close to home. The restaurant is simply, but nicely decorated. The service was great. The employees were very sweet. We ordered the garlic chicken with chinese rice, crab ragoon and a coke. The food was freshly cooked and delicious. The wait was only10 to 15 minutes. The prices were reasonable. They also sell sushi, boba drinks, fruit infusion teas, and milk teas. The service was superb, and I decided to try the family platter special with any special roll for just $45, I samples four different rolls. The food was outstanding, though it was a bit cold when I visited. Then atmosphere was clean & spotless. I especially loved the impressive money tree they had on display. read more

This place has been opened maybe about 2-3 weeks now.I've been waiting to try it ever since. Every time I pass by the parking lot is full. This restaurant is a Chinese/Puerto Rican food fusion.I came here w/ my sis,her bf, & my niece. It's nice & vibrant inside. I got greeted by the person who was taking orders. She gave me the address & phone number to input on Yelp. They're not even online yet or have a website(that's how new they are). The menu actually has Japanese food as well. They have all kinds of sushi. They also have boba & whale teas.I ordered shrimp & broccoli w/ fried rice. The fried rice comes w/ ham,eggs,& scallions. I got minus the scallions. The order also comes w/ French fries. Thats the way Chinese PR restaurants serve their food. I ordered a 2nd round of California rolls for my niece & me. My sister & her bf ordered a whole bunch of food to share. Garlic chicken w/ monfongo(mashed plantains w/ garlic),pepper steak w/ fried rice & French fries,& carne Fritas (fried pork) w/ tostones(fried plantains). My niece ordered a brown sugar boba tea w/ California rolls. We were given a receipt w/ our number to be called. It took a little bit(that's b/c food is made by order) for our food to come out. I didn't mind the wait as long as my food was extra fresh. My order was very tasty all around! The shrimp were pretty big & cooked just right. The shrimp & broccoli sauce was savory & tasted good. The broccoli wasn't too hard or soft(cooked to my liking). My meal had a very large portion of fried rice. I wish there was more shrimp & broccoli(carrots as well). I forgot it also came w/ carrots.The mofongo & garlic chicken had took much garlic for my liking. The carne fritas were extra crispy & flavorful. The tostones had garlic ojo(oil) on them(which tasted yum). Tostones could have been crispier though. The California rolls were extra fresh & it was thick/packed. They were delish! Overall, the food was scrumptious! I would def be back. It's right around my house(real close by). The people who work here were extra friendly & nice! Was very excited to try this new place not far from home. The food was great. I ordered the fried carnitasl with tostones and garlic, the pepper steak with rice and fries and got the garlic chicken with mofongo. The service was nice the food was fresh so waiting a bit for me was not a problem. The restaurant is clean neat and well kept with some background music playing. read more

Last Friday, I was in my old hometown of Bridgeport. Prior to this, I saw that there was a new restaurant in the place of the old Captains Pizza. My father's family, who are Puerto Rican, were excited to see a fusion restaurant in a familiar spot. Me and my grandmother decided to kill time by getting a bite to eat here. We did notice the parking lot is still the same, full of pot holes so be sure to keep that in mind. I went there around 11 I believe? It was empty and quiet. Only the music they had on filled the quiet. It's VERY, very clean in there. Even the bathroom. They definitely gave it a makeover. Very spacious with natural light coming inside. You must go to the counter to order your food and then they will bring it you but I did notice another couple confused as to why they did not get food delivered to their table. So maybe I'm incorrect. The menu is full of different options which are priced well for what they are and how much the portion is. The ladies at the counter were polite and quick. The food was good. My grandmother said she enjoyed her Sushi which came with some wasabi and cooked ginger (that's what she said) and the dipping sauce. She said it flavorful as well as her egg roll. It was fresh and crispy, a very good egg roll. I decided to get the Pepper Steak plate which includes rice and they added some fries. I will say, I have a had better fried rice. This one was a bit bland and I added hot sauce to kind of enhance it. The steak and peppers were good, definitely was like the traditional meals you would buy at your local Chinese restaurant. My brown sugar milk tea was very good. I loved sipping from start to finish. I definitely see the fusion part here, but it didn't hit ALL the right spots for me. If I was to change anything, it would be the rice. Everything else was good though. I will be back with more of my family members. Without doubt, the worst places in Bridgeport, NOT PUERTO RICAN. all hype, the food is garbage. #1 Mofongo has the wrong consistency, I asked for caldo "Broth," and the girl said No, she can offer Mayo Ketchup for a Mofongo. #2 Carne Frita "fried pork" is breaded. #3 tostones "Fried plaintains" No salt,no flavor,dry and hard as a rock. #4 the fried rice no flavor. Every time I come here I get different quality of food. Hit or miss. Sometimes good , and sometimes not so good. I don't wanna say the place is horrible but it needs more work compared to other true authentic Bori-Chino spots. Something's off about it but I think it's also cool that they offer sushi rolls and Boba. Service is good and location is decent. Parking isn't bad. That's about it. read more
