I haven't thought about this gym in years my cousin who lives in Plano told me he recently joined…read more I told him that's great it's a good gym as he has been getting serious about his physique. It's raw and hardcore great haven if you're focused and determined to get stronger and change your body for the better. Great environment great equipment. Clean. Good crowd good energetic vibe. I have a great story I have told many over the years. I'm from Chicago. Years ago had to be 2016. I was in the DFW area for a wedding. Had time to kill and as a serious bodybuilder myself I took a drive to Metro Plano. I go inside I meet the owners two brothers I believe. Introduce myself sat and chatted with them for about an hour. The bodybuilding scene of Texas, Illinois, the strength industry the trends of gyms and fitness culture. I've been around the scene for over 20 years by then so I know. I like to say I made rapport with the owners. Wasn't just some bloke in town who stumbled across the place I purposely went there. Skipped D.D. Skipped Metroflex Arlington and even the now defunct EX.I.P. I wanted to see Metroflex Plano. So I gladly paid my daily fee got a workout in the place is awesome. After the workout I chatted with the two brother owners again for a bit expressing my satisfaction of the facility. So when you walk in the place there's the first set of doors then there's a huge looks like a giant wooden door you'd see in front of a castle right next to the long desk the owners sit at. On that wooden door are a bunch of tags. Just members and locals signing their name on the door maybe tagging things like "Metroflex Get Big or Go Gome" "Big Joe was here Metroflex Gym, baby..." Cool element. Looks good it's suiting to the vibe there. I see a bunch of sharpie markers on the desk so I was about to leave I grab a sharpie and say to the owners.... "Thanks for letting me workout I'm gonna sign my name on the door if that's cool." My intention was to match the tags like.... Shane Was Here. Chicago Represent! August # 2016. One of the owners both of them look identical very Duck dynasty stubby guys STOPS me literally stops me and says..... "Whoa Whoa Whoa, brother. Can't let you do that. Only members can. Sorry." I look at him look at the door riddled with tags like hundreds - again - cool suiting element to the place. "Really?" "Sorry, man. Can't let ya..." Hahahahaha. I put the Sharpie down and say....... "Okay?" Walked out grinning thinking to myself "Wow." Next day before the wedding I went to D.D. lo and behold they also have a wall in the gym very similar concept. Tons of tags and names scribbled on it. I ask the desk guy if I can sign my name on it. He goes.... "For sure, man!" hands me a marker. D********** D***** Amazing Gym Shane From Chicago (date). Guess what. It's still there! My local cousin sent me a pic of it a while back while he was there. Made me smile. That's it that's my Metroflex Plano experience. But great gym nonetheless. Next time I'm in town I'd like to revisit and maybe just maybe this time tag my name on the door. I'm not entitled by any means I just believe that sometimes you just got to give them the pickle!

Here's to me checking off another great Crunch Fitness location near me!…read more I really like the layout of this gym. The cardio, ride, and group fitness rooms are located upstairs, while all the weight and muscle-building machines are on the ground floor. This location has more wipes than both the East Plano and Plano gyms combined--which is amazing! Usually, I have to walk across all the treadmills to grab a wipe, but here, there were 3 cleaning stations within just one row of treadmills. I decided to try out Zumba here since it started 30 minutes earlier than my usual 7pm class, and it was great. The group fitness room is amazing; it was super spacious with powerful AC. I loved how cool the room stayed despite how sweaty we were. The instructor, Stephanie, is very interactive with the class as well. Great location!

He walked me through all the goodies: weights, recovery center, sauna, fitness classes and a bunch more, all bundled into different membership packages. I was suprised learn it costs about the same as a cute TJ Maxx outfit or a full tank of gas if you're feeling like getting the full membership. And get this: you can bring a friend for free every single visit. Love that Crunch Fitness thought of this built-in gym buddy system, nice idea! I've got a few of friends who rave about how much they enjoy their membership. They say it's a great place to network with other business professionals or just vibe with likeminded fitness folks. I didn't sign up today because I'm checking if my UHC insurance might cover it (I might already be a member and not know it). But if you're thinking about it, I recommend joining! Look at their Yelp offer and take advantage of their one day pass to see if it fits your vibe.

I had a nice experience at this gym! I'm exploring boxing gyms in the area and this one got me…read morepretty sore the next day! You get split into two groups if the group is larger- team 1 on the bags, team 2 on the side turf. Jerome was the instructor (and the owner here), and is very patient with new people and just correcting form in general. People tend to lose their form when they get tired (myself def included), and he was there mainly at the bags helping my friends and I out and making sure we weren't approaching it in a poor fashion. I believe most of the people here are regulars, so its got a pretty "familial" feel. My one note is about the cleanliness- the gloves stink! I'd bring my own and get past that though. You can get a better deal if you buy packages at the Jym directly instead of online, so call ahead!

This is the best workout I've ever had in my life, hands down! I found out about this place from my…read moremom because she had purchased a Groupon online. I decided to check it out because I was looking for a more intense workout, on top of the swim classes already take. I signed up for a one-day free class, and I was absolutely hooked! This is a full body workout and you will get a really, REALLY, good sweat. If you decide to continue beyond the one day free trial, there is a 30 day intro option which is about $39. If you decide to do it continuously it's about $60 a month. Yes, you heard me right! You get a quality work out AND it's affordable. I've tried doing title boxing and I love kickboxing, but their prices are insanely high for the average spender. Once you're signed up classes are unlimited, and you can pretty much come anytime during the week when they're open. Jerome is the instructor/owner and he's really good about helping you get going. DON'T feel intimidated. There are people of all levels in the classes, the most important thing is to keep moving and to keep hitting the bag. If you can't do a certain exercise you can always alternate it for something else. I like it because it's not all boxing, but other exercises incorporated into it as well. I definitely recommend you give this a try. If you don't feel the class is for you, then don't worry. There will be no one trying to harass you into buying something you don't want. I plan to continue on a monthly basis. :)

Disappointed with my experience …read more There were no trash cans in the women's restrooms, and there were at least 2 clogged toilets. I informed the front desk as I was leaving. The wipes are also so incredibly thin, doesn't feel like you're cleaning anything. Everything is kinda just strewn around in the women's only section. I came here with a friend using the free day pass, but I couldn't imagine paying for this experience.

I wanted to bring up a concern regarding inconsistent enforcement of gym policies. I was recently…read moretold I could not enter wearing slides, despite the fact that I regularly come in wearing them because I remove my shoes while lifting heavy. I've also noticed many other members lifting barefoot or taking their shoes off entirely without being approached or corrected. What makes this frustrating is that there are no visible signs or posted policies stating "no slides" or "no Crocs." The only posted rules I've seen are things like reracking weights and not removing shirts. Because of that, it feels unfair and inconsistent when certain members are singled out while others are not. Additionally, the interaction itself was unprofessional. I was told, "I'm going to get fired if you walk in," (white girl) by a front desk employee I had never seen before, after I had already driven all the way to the gym. The situation could have been handled much more respectfully and clearly. I also want to mention that I frequently feel pressured by trainers approaching me repeatedly about personal training, even after showing no interest. I've noticed this tends to happen more when I wear baggier clothing or don't fit the typical "gym aesthetic," which makes the environment feel uncomfortable rather than welcoming. I'm not trying to cause issues, but I would appreciate clearer policies and more consistent treatment from staff across the board.
