The Excite Center is located inside the Parx Casino. At first it's hard to find when pulling into the casino as there weren't many signs directing you. Once inside you'll find that the center is right in the casino which has its benefits. Right outside Xcite is its own event bar. I would not recommend going there because the drink options are very limited and not great. It's easy to walk a few minutes to the casino bar for way more options. The seating within the event space was comfy and everyone had a drink holder. The seats didn't seem to be leveled like concert seats so at some points it was hard to see, especially when people were taking videos and photos. The screens on the side of the stage were good and so was the sound. Be careful when booking, some seats were hindered by pillars in the venue! read more

This is a great little venue inside Parx Casino. So far we have been lucky enough to see Bush, Silversun Pickups, and Sponge, Local H, and Everclear. There are no bad seats, and you can get drinks out in the casino with no lines. My only complaint is the last time we were there, they let people stand in the middle aisle and up by the stage and they blocked everyone else's views including a man with a walker in the front row. Eventually they did clear them all out, but they should be on top of that. read more

I came here on June 1st to see Joss Stone. This was my first time at this venue, and I must say, I love it!!! The venue is very small and intimate and you can see the stage from every seat!!! It's off of the gaming floor, and they provided bottled water. The bathroom is conveniently located at the back of the theater. Doors open at 7 pm. The show starts at 8 pm. Don't be late. The only thing I didn't quite like was that concerts have to end, I believe by 10 PM or 11pm due to the casino's rules. They would rather have you on the floor gambling than enjoying a concert. read more

I have been to the Xcite Center for comedians, concerts, and MMA fights. My last time visiting the establishment we had great center row seats to see the band, Live. The venue here is very small so it is likely you will have great intimidate seats to front row action. You can purchase beverages anywhere in the casino but need to pour the drink into a plastic cup container before entering the venue which they supply right at the door before you enter. I would recommend if you're on the fence to buy a ticket for an event here. As always people SYOY!!! read more

I just went to my first concert at this new venue inside Parx casino. I have seen some fantastic talent coming through but tonight I was lucky enough to catch Melissa Etheridge. The venue is smaller then I expected it to be which was nice. It felt way more personal and intimate then a typical arena concert. It felt like every seat was a floor seat. There were two large screens next to her on stage to insure everyone could see if you needed a better view. The sound system was great. The lighting was good except when they would try to light up the audience area. Strong bright lights would come on that were a bit much. The first time it happened even The artist was like , "Woah." The seating was this attached moveable plastic that was more comfortable then i thought it would be. There is actual leg room and enough space to dance should the urge kick in. Seats are not stadium style, everyone is on the same level. A few people stood up for the entire show which sometimes made it hard to see but it's a concert and I can't hate anyone for feeling the urge to be on their feet! Another great thing about this venue is that parking is free which frees up some cash for the casino! One last suggestion! Grab dinner or drinks at the Liberty Gastro Pub before or after the show. The food was delicious and the beer selection extensive. I can't wait to catch my next show here! read more

We went to see Air Supply on November 18th, 2023 and unfortunately left an hour into the concert. The people in the row behind us were screaming, cussing, laughing, and carring on obnoxiously. We informed the ushers and they stated that we cannot stand to watch the concert which we interpreted as they were not going to address the obnoxious group, so we left. We were the fourth couple to leave. We will never go back to that venue again. read more

There's much to like about the venue. You can be very close to the stage and get a good view for a very reasonable price. This might be the only criteria you care about. However, the seats are too narrow. I'm currently seated here and someone I don't know has his arm completely over my arm. It's not either of our fault, the seats are incredibly narrow. I expect the person will do the same on my left side once they arrive. I don't want to be intimate with people I don't know. This venue forces you to become personally involved with the people directly next to you. read more

Excellent venu if you are lucky enough to have your favourite artist perform here. The ticket prices are usually pretty good and much cheaper than at a big arena. Maybe because they get less sought after performers? The venue is small, making all seats pretty good. ( 75.00 for third row) seats were perfect! So close to the stage. There are large screens on either side of the stage. Check ahead for artists because since the place is small, it sells out really fast. Quick check in. Friendly ushers. You can bring drinks into the venue as long as they are in plastic cups. The sound was exceptional. Lots of security for safety. Great little concert !! read more

You never know what you are going to get with a new venue, but I'd make the trek out to the Xcite Center again. My first experience was within the inaugural months at the Third Eye Blind concert. I miraculously ended up with front row center-ish for a seated show, which adds to the experience. I'm not sure if all events are seated, but it was nice to be able to arrive to the casino at a reasonable time and hang out beforehand. Seated also means no stress of where to leave your jacket. There's no bar inside the venue, so make sure to get your drink before going through the security line. They had a little drink area set up outside the venue, but I'd recommend getting your beverage in a plastic container at Chickie's to get a better variety. The security line wasn't horrible 30 minutes to showtime, but they were thorough. I could imagine the line being bad right before the show starts. The security/ushers in the venue were clearly new. There was no one guarding the front row/stage area prior to the show, so anyone could walk up and stand there. When the show started, the fans could utilize the rail, but a few songs in they made everyone back up closer to the seats. Sound quality was excellent. All raves from me. The stage wasn't too high so the view from the front was nice. . While not intimate, the venue itself wasn't too big. They have a few monitors in the front, that apparently my group was featured on multiple times throughout the evening. As long as they keep bringing in acts I want to see, there's no reason not to return. read more

Me and my buddy saw Craig Robinson last night aka Darryl from The Office. It was our first time at the Xcite Center and about 2 years since I've been to Parx. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The security was fine. You were able to pour your already purchased beverages into plastic cups to enter. It was cozy and intimate inside. We sat four rows from stage, dead center. Two jumbo TVs were on both sides of the stage. The performance was funny as hell. He included the audience in his show too which was hilarious. I will definitely be returning since they have booked so many upcoming bands and comedians. read more

Nice little venue. Only 1500 seats so no matter where you sit, its a good seat. Philly Pops Big Band was excellent although we didn't care for the singers. Would have rather have just listened to the band play. I have read some reviews that the seats are uncomfortable. We did not find that to be so. OK first of all, the PARX Casino where the Xcite Center is located - nice place, especially when they FINALLY realized that having a 100% smoke free environment makes people comfortable. The Xcite Center was clean, well kept, etc., however it was a flat level surface for the entire 1500-seat auditorium, zero incline to the floor, meaning you had to crane your neck to see the stage. If someone seated in front of you was anywhere near over 6' tall, then you're in a world of hurt. I was in section C1, close to the stage (off to the right) and spent about 2 hours with my neck positioned 45° to the left and slightly up. Needless to say, a horrendous aching neck the following day. Seats were inspired by Southwest or Spirit Airlines - nowhere near enough to comfortably house your butt (I'll admit mine is wider than the average bear), and you got up from your seat after a 2 hour event quite gingerly. Bottom line, the venue was attractive but not very customer-friendly and you would be better off watching a show in a conventional theater. read more

This venue inside Parx casino was surprisingly smaller than I expected it to be. I've been seeing billboards and other advertisements around the area touting a number of big-name acts, so I had an image of a bigger room in mind to accommodate crowds for acts that big. But when I walked in, it seemed a lot smaller and more intimate - which I kind of liked, but when I got to my seat, I was unhappy with how packed it felt. The seats were not very comfortable at all. Parx seems like they spare no expense everywhere else, but I feel like they got discount theater seats here. Not only were the seats uncomfortable, the rows were packed in. I felt like everyone was practically on top of each other. The layout of the rows in relation to the stage was good - in that regard, it seems like every seat is a good seat. And the clarity of the acoustics and audio were nice. Overall, it was a fine experience. I'd go to a show again there if it were something I really wish to see, but I won't be too thrilled about the comfort and room available to me when seated. read more

The Xcite Center isn't a bad venue. Parking is free and easy. The location is close to major roads. The acoustics are fine. The auditorium is a nice size, we were towards the back and had a great view of the stage for Australian Pink Floyd - which gives an amazing show using light, video and sound - so why the lousy review? Because Parx forces musical acts to limit the time of their show so patrons can spend more time losing cash playing cards or slots. Last night's show seemed very short - around 90 minutes. In speaking to the staff, they acknowledged that Parx had required them to cut the show by 30-45 minutes from their normal performance. That's just a bait and switch. I'm paying for a full concert, not a stunted show. Before last night, I would have been happy to play cards at Parx but no more. Fool me once ..... shame on you, Parx. read more

We went to a concert at the Xcite Center, Bruce Hornsby. Good sight lines from the center section, sound was great, ushers pleasant, etc. You can get stamped to leave and come back to go get drinks and whatnot. Security and a couple of police were visible, but otherwise they felt non-existent. One small complaint was the rows of seating tend to shake if you are moving around or grooving to the music as they are all connected, otherwise roomy with drink holders and foldable armrests. I would come back to the venue. The casino on the other hand is a smoke gagging room of death. The smoke in the air and the smokers here were horrid as such we didn't even stay after the show to gamble. Which we had planned to do. For anyone that has sinus or breathing issues, trust me when I say it is best to avoid walking through the casino floor from one end to the other and just head right to the venue, it's that bad. We will most likely never come back for the casino only. I give this 3 stars, I would have given more, but the smoke really was just too much for us. read more

We see 20-30 live music shows a year at all different venues in and around Phila as well as in other states and other countries. Pros - Conveniently located and easy to get to from 95, PA Turnpike, Rt 1 Huge free self parking lot and valet parking (don't know what the cost for valet is, if anything). Food options and gambling if you want to extend your time. Coat check at the front entrance is great if you don't want to hassle with your garment, although they would not let us check our umbrella - not a big deal, just mentioning. Really great sound system! Big monitors bring performers up close. The seats a bit further back are much more comfortable than the front row side seats, which is where we retreated to due to the seat issues below. Also sound is better further back. Friendly employees, if not exactly the brightest bulbs. i.e.: the guy at the front entrance pointing us left to the Xcite Center that was actually in the right rear of the complex. Cons - Front row seats on far left and right are terrible. Seats are connected & seem to be not very secure so anytime anyone in the row moved, the whole row moved with them. The far side seats have a lovely view of the wall & stage stairs and you can barely see the stage which is ridiculous at $98 a ticket. The monitors that are great for viewing further back burn into your eyes when sitting right on top of them. The stench from cigarettes in the casino is positively disgusting and you have to walk through the entire casino floor to get to Xcite Center. I would never eat there because the vile stink is inside the open restaurants too. Please do something. I'm allergic to cigarette smoke. This will prevent me from coming to future shows, despite the great sound system and other conveniences. read more

Last night My husband and I had date night. We ate dinner at the Liberty Bell Gastropub and saw Clearance Clearwater Revival. The long and winding walk... I get you want people to be enticed to play some games, but I really feel like it is so unnecessary. People who want to play will and those who don't want to play won't. No need to make navigating the casino confusing and unnecessary. Smoking I understand, I do. I am a former smoker. It would be awesome if you enclosed those folks so former and non smokers don't need to deal with it. The restrooms Not sure about the men's room, but the ladies room is so confusing. Another maze with not enough hand dryers. And the design is enough to make you dizzy. Having said that, it was neat and clean. Liberty Bell Gastropub I walked up to the hostess station. Three employees were discussing something. It took a few minutes for someone to acknowledge us. I asked for a table. She pauses and says do you have a reservation? No. Well you'll need to sit at the bar. I'm fine with that, but she didn't offer us a wait time for a table. When I looked at the restaurant online there was not an online option to schedule a reservation, but there was one for Parx Grill. My husband ordered the Smokehouse Burger Medium. He said it was okay, very dry. I had the short rib burger. I knew I was in trouble when they asked me how I wanted it done. Short rib is braised and already cooked. I would suggest that they make it a sandwich and use provolone cheese and skip the lettuce and tomato. The fries were good. Will I eat there again? Maybe. Xcite Center This was my second show there. My husbands first. Sound quality is awesome, but the seating is much to be desired. The seats are small, not offset, and not stadium style. They really need a bar in the venue. You need to go out of the venue to get a drink. Will I go back? Sure, I live 3 miles away and parking is free. I will be very deliberate in what I see there. Overall it was a nice night. I hope Parx evaluates reviews and makes changes to improve the overall experience. read more

Seats are really comfortable, there are 2 jumbo screens so that everything on stage is visible, and it's beautiful. Acoustics are also very good. Looks like they've booked some top talent there and we had an awesome time at the sold out Jim Breuer comedy show. My only complaint is the smell of cigarette smoke while walking through the casino to get there. I didn't realize that was still allowed anywhere. But I'd definitely go back to see other entertainment here. read more

Last night we saw Howie Mandel for the first time in this place. We had a 2 small drinks, vodka and cranberry, in a plastic cup for $31.00. Outrageous. The bartender didn't know how to make a vodka collins. NEVER again. so we go in to the theatre well it's like a high school auditorium. the seats are line up and the rock and sway. You get nauseous. I would have thought it would be a sloop seating place. IT's so high school. 2 large video screens on each side. but they could have taken Howie over to the movie theatre and did he show in AMC Neshaminy theatres 1, 2 23, 24. They have the room and decor. I was extremely disappointed and would not go back to this venue. It's a shame they have some nice acts coming in but the price of drinks and seating turns me off. BTW Howie mandel was good. the first 45 minutes was good but he lost his steam in the last 15 minutes. He became crude and raunchy. read more

The band was great and Jay White looked and sounded like Neil Diamond. He has so much passion in each song. The whole performance can't be duplicated. Had the whole hall rocking. Our first time visiting the Xcite Center at Parx for a show. Everything about the show was great. The room size, accessibility to a bar and restrooms, etc...The only real problem was the fact that people can still smoke indoors in a Casino. Is was disgusting and there was no place to get away from it. Even in a bar area where there was apparently no smoking allowed, it was ignored and not enforced. If there were smoking only locations inside and adequate air recirculation I might consider going for another show. The food at the Parx Grill was amazing. But again the cigarette smell seeped into our clothes and smoky air made our throats scratchy. Great show great food, poor environment. We will not be returning. :-( read more

Worst seats of any venue I've ever been to. I go to 3 or 4 shows a week. This was unbelievably uncomfortable to the point of pain. If anyone withing 6 people of you in your row moves all the chairs will move with them. A dozen people around me walked out holding their backs and or complaining about these horrible cheap seats. If someone is playing somewhere else even if it's a hike.. go there instead of Parx. read more

First time at Parx and the experience was great! The game floor was clean, perfect lighting, super comfy seats, staff was very nice and the bathrooms were very clean. I've been to the Xcite Center 4x over 3 months (Fab Four, D.DeYoung, 'R.Orbison'+PhillyPops, 'Simon & Garfunkel Story'), and the sound system has been consistently excellent (better than The Keswick, IMO). I've sat 10 rows from stage-left, and also the very last row/far right, and I don't believe there are any 'bad' seats (with the exception of the ~10 "obstructed view" seats that are clearly labeled and discounted on the Seating Chart web-page). Many reviewers understandably complain about (1) the un-graded flooring from front to rear (the resulting compromised sight-lines could be improved by utilizing sizable risers atop the stage surface), and (2) un-staggered seat rows (which is probably most annoying when seated dead-center in the room; if seated to the Left or Right, your sight-line will more naturally follow between the heads of the folks in front of you). None of this impacts tall patrons, but short folks like me shouldn't have to rely on the jumbo video screens (which BTW don't seem to be Hi-Def). As a low-end ticket-buyer, I've been very lucky with sight-lines. The 'theater' is actually a multi-purpose room, so the lightweight seating is removable and thus not permanently anchored, subjecting nearby seats to rocking when a row-mate boogies in their seat. This is hardly an annoyance, especially given the attractive pricing for such top-notch entertainment. My only major grievances .... deal-breakers, I'm afraid: (1) the absence of a direct entry to the theater from the parking lot. As currently laid out, you must walk through the entire tobacco-reeking casino to access the restaurants and theater; (2) Additionally ridiculous is that none of the restaurants have a sealed frontage; they all have open-air entryways, thus freely inviting the eye-stinging, throat-tightening tobacco exhaust to follow you inside. I understand the traditional casino strategy of tempting theatergoers by making them walk by all the card-tables and slot machines before they reach the showroom, but in this health-conscious millennium, you can't tempt a clear-lunged, clear-eyed visitor to suffer such a smokey assault. If PARX ever conquers its literal 'bad atmosphere' problem, I'll gladly resume my patronage. ..... My rating is for the Xcite Center only [absent the casino and restaurants] ..... a very good value for your dollar. read more

Very poorly constructed venue. The seating has to be the cheapest ever installed in a concert hall. All seats are bolted together, when one person moves the entire row sways, motion sickness medicine suggested before attending a show here. The Romans knew that seats needed to be sloped upward from the stage. If you where going to spend money on a concert hall,design it correctly. Will not attend anything else here read more

The selection of restaurants is great but the heat and smoke were terrible. It was very hot and the smoke was overwhelming. The Xcite Center was too compact. The seats were all attached so when one person moved around, it made the seats shake. However the sound quality for the concert was very good. Also, I was supposed to get a $15 credit from my hotel, but never received it. And the machines are not user friendly. The touchpads definitely need to be re-wired and I tried on multiple machines to add cash and none of them would take it although I was clearly watching other people dump money into the slots. Just not a great experience. read more

Went to see the Hotel California and the Golden Boys. Both great fun shows and very entertaining. I hope they come back next year. Going to see the Righteous Bros. and the Platter and the Coasters. Love that you keep the ticket prices down, so I can go see more shows. I like the small venue and friendly atmosphere. I hope Parx Xcite keeps it that way. read more

Our first trip to PARX casino, last night we went to the Bill Engval Show. Show was amazing. Laughed our butts off. Better than Jeff Dunham or Larry the Cable Guy. We had a huge problem though. Tickets were purchased for 5 adults and 3 17 year olds. (2 families) as a Christmas gift. We did receive email confirmation, but with it being a busy time of year, we did not read the fine print. Luckily we noticed on Friday and not at front door, NO ONE UNDER 21 IS ALLOWED IN CASINO ANYWHERE IN ANYWAY. Atlantic City and Bethlehem casinos have accommodations so folks under 21 can see a show or shop or whatever. Only casino floor is off limits. Never thought these yahoos wouldn't have made the same accommodations. We called. No refund available for the three tickets. WILL NOT GO BACK. Casino was a typical crowded flashy casino. The inside is not very big, but the acustics inside are nice. The seats are small and I get it, it allows them to fit more people inside. But don't get to wild rocking in the chair because the person next to you may not like it, because they will be moving with you. The stage is a good size and it's a welcome that Parx took the time to add this to there venue. so far I have seen 3 shows there and will come back for acts that interest me. read more

Pros: Great sound! Parking is free. Cons: Bad view angles from seats (UPDATE: FIXED?! See below). No signs to the building. Details: Saw an acoustic concert (Lyle Lovett and Shawn Colvin). We knew it was in the Parx complex somewhere but there were no signs mentioning Xcite Center as of March '18, and Apple Maps did its usual poor job in large parking lots. (Tip: Xcite Center is in the main casino. Walk in and the venue is towards the back left.) The sound was GREAT, and both performers raved about it. The cheap removable seats didn't bother me much, but they are a step down from most venues. The problem is that the floor was flat and the stage raised only as much as an elementary school's stage. The person in front of you directly blocks your view. Both the performers and the audience were seated, and EVERYONE had to crane their necks the entire show. (Or look at the video screens.) UPDATE: I have seen two more shows since. These were comedy shows, and not only were the performers standing up, but the stage had somehow been raised as well. I still wish the floor was sloped and the seats staggered- a tall person will still block your view. But I have no hesitation recommending this venue now! I have added a star to my review. read more

Demographics: I'm 70 years old, enjoy a little slot play, and dislike venues like stadiums and arenas. The Xcite Center, though it is a large theater, is more intimate than the type of venues I dislike. Located in the Parx Casino in Bensalem, PA, it is very accessible by automobile, although if you plan to park using Valet, go very early and be prepared to wait. There is plenty of standard parking available, but limited handicap spaces. This fact could have been an issue for us since one of our party was using a wheelchair, but we got fortunate in finding a good space not too far from the front door. The seats are very comfortable and most seats provide a reasonably good view. The on-line ticket service provides options, but the center area, even if you have to sit further back, is best. The only issue with the seating is that the elevation from row to row is rather flat. I had a fairly tall gentleman in front of me with a very large head after having to change seats with my wife. I found myself swaying from side to side to see, but the stage is large enough that I did not always have to try to look through him. The sound system is terrific... first rate, as is the lighting. The ushers are polite and access inside is organized. The wheelchair was removed from our party and we were provided a receipt. We retrieved it after the show was over. The Xcite center may not be the Kimmel Center, but it is an enjoyable place to see a show and maybe lose some money before or after. We will be back. read more

Sounds like a good place. What I don't like is that you have to be 21 to go inside the center. Just to see a concert. I'd love to go and see an upcoming concert with my dad, but now I can't and I have to find a different venue to go see the band we want to see.
