Typically the YMCA is known to be a helping organization in the community. I did not get this experience. When I called in, the call center girl was nit friendly, did not demonstrate empathy or understanding for what I was explaining. I had started the conversation by asking for the director or a supervisor and the call rep refused. I called back and left a message for the executive director. I then got a call back from someone who was taking the messages for the executive director. The Y at The Heights was unwilling to help me, adding even more stress to my already overwhelming situation. I work full-time, I am a single parent to 3 children and a full-time caregiver to a parent with Alzheimers. Shame of you Y at the Heights. You are not a friend to the community or those who need understanding and compassion. I give this organization, that truly only cares about $$$, zero stars.

Updated Review:…read more We've been YMCA since 2016 and overall have been happy. They do a good job of keeping the place clean and updated as much as they can. I appreciated that they have tried to add more classes with only one room and the gym. They have made a cycling room, which I hear offers great classes. They also added a midday yoga class, which is great when the kids are in school. I would like more daytime classes then evenings because that is better for my schedule. Childwatch is usually not busy, which is great. I do not use it anymore so I'm not sure on anything specific for childcare these days. Youth sports are affordable and the directors do a good job of making sure the kids are having fun and playing fair. It's nice they have a pool, but the schedule is hard to understand of exactly when open swim is. I also wish they would have a slide, like Coffman or something fun for the kids. The new director and new fitness director are really doing their best trying to improve the West Carrollton YMCA. Overall happy to be a member just wish they could make the place a bit bigger.

I also learned not all locations honor the silver sneakers. When you are a member you can visit most other locations but not all. Lebanon Ohio y only honors their memberships. This was the first place i toured and i was interested.

Season should be starting Saturday sept 5th. It's been postponed to sept 13th. But some teams will have games Saturday the 5th. I have 2 kids and have no schedule for either kids team. How am I supposed to schedule life if they can't get me a schedule and not make last minute changes?!? If the refs are as bad this year as last it's going down. U4 games should last 30 mins max. One of our daughters last over an hour because the ref couldn't keep track of time! Hire people who know how to use a stopwatch or tell time. I left the sports director a voicemail and I've still not gotten a call back. They do not prioritize timeliness. Practice schedules went out the week before they started. It's no surprise the teams barely have 9 players each. Parents don't want the bullcrap.

BEWARE! Imagine you visit this Y from out of town. You put your things in an open locker to use…read morethe pool. Pool is closed so you use the steam room instead. After a steam you go to your locker to retrieve your things. The locker has malfunctioned won't open. you're in your swim trunks with no phone, no keys or wallet. The staff tells you there is no way to enter the malfunctioning locker. You're now STRANDED ! If you're lucky enough to have A friend nearby they can drive 45 min to give you clothes and a place to sleep. But what if you're not so lucky? You sleep on the floor of the Y I suppose. The maintenance person won't show up till the morning. When he does have to physically break into the malfunctioned locker, he'll insinuate it's your fault . DOES that sound like a RELAXING time at your local Y? Stay away. BEWARE!!

They have a pool, workout room, and other rooms for exercise classes. You get a lot for your money. Plus they have blood drives witch I think is great. I like that there you feel part of something.

There is a squat rack, power rack, deadlift platform and all the free weights + all the machines you could ever want IMO. There are yoga & Fitness classes with an attitude of "just do your best," no pressure to keep up when you can't. The yoga instructors are kind and helpful esp Melissa. If you're looking for free weights for the big compound movements or to just get moving with treadmills etc and weight machines I think you will find Club51 a haven. Staff is knowledgeable & courteous. Paid personal training is available I'm pretty sure but don't take my word, go check them out!

I showed up for a class today at 1 o'clock and no one was there. When I went to the desk, they were kind of dismissive. "If nobody's there it was probably canceled. Did you check the app?" They should know their audience. A lot of people are older and don't want to work apps. And with that being said, why would you hand me a weekly class list that is not correct? I also asked the front desk three times in the week I've belonged, where a class was located. None of them said "oh it's right here or it's right there." Every one of them had to pull up the app or go to the monitor and pull up a class. Shouldn't the front desk know more about what's going on and what classes are being held and where they are in the gym? I don't know. It's kind of souring me.

This gym charged me for a family membership for an entire month after I cancelled the membership and they claim it's their policy to do so. I think this policy should be illegal as it charges a patron for a service they will not have. I think once you cancel the family membership and reduce it to an individual membership then when you go to pay for the next month like I did you dont get charged for a family membership you just cancelled. You should only be charged for an individual membership. This is common sense. The reason I cancelled the Family Membership is because I couldnt even bring my child into the gym. My son does wrestling and has since he was 6. He's 7 now and it's what he likes to do. We were kicked out of the gym and I had been paying for this non-useable family membership when THEY SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME WHEN I SIGNED UP!!! This gym is not child friendly and it doesn't have good hours for watching kids. If there was another option in the area that was as roomy as this gym we would have a membership there instead. Unfortunately, in the are though there are good gyms they dont offer as much room as this one so I am stuck.
