Staff is not very friendly. Most of what they say is "check the app". A week ago when I signed up for the Y, in my packet came a weekly class list. I showed up for a class today at 1 o'clock and no one was there. When I went to the desk, they were kind of dismissive. "If nobody's there it was probably canceled. Did you check the app?" They should know their audience. A lot of people are older and don't want to work apps. And with that being said, why would you hand me a weekly class list that is not correct? I also asked the front desk three times in the week I've belonged, where a class was located. None of them said "oh it's right here or it's right there." Every one of them had to pull up the app or go to the monitor and pull up a class. Shouldn't the front desk know more about what's going on and what classes are being held and where they are in the gym? I don't know. It's kind of souring me. read more

I hadn't been here for probably a year and I was impressed at there changed. Looks like they got all new equipment and renovated. Before alot of the equipment was worn and cracked. Plus the staff... before there were always several sitting or chatting with friends ... but now they were up helping people or cleaning. Yay well done. read more

As others have stated using the therapy pool is hit or miss. But today I went and a man brought a very large great Dane therapy dog to sit while his wife and kids used the pool. Dog was literally inches from me. So I left. Shocked that a dog was allowed into pool area just with someone who wanted to sit and watch! read more

We've been members of the YMCA since the beginning of the year and are very happy with it. With that being said, this is not my home branch so I am only reviewing based on what I have experience with. This is the nicest of the all the branches I frequent and the newest. They have a huge parking lot and the building itself is huge. This is probably the biggest Y I've been too as well. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful on where to direct me as someone new. The childcare area is very, very big and if you do between 8am-11am busy since this is when all the classes are typically offered. Even though they were busy I didn't feel like it was too much for the people working. They also have a blocked off area for small babies, which I liked since my son was only about 8-10 weeks when we went. The weight room is really large and has plenty of equipment. It's busy every time I've been there, but not over crowded. There are plenty of rooms so they offer the most diverse classes compared to the other Y's in the area. I found the gymnastic to be a bit small and the track was fine, but I think West Carrollton's is designed better because of the natural light from the windows. Like I said, the nicest and biggest Y I've been too, but I find it too crowded for me. read more

I joined the YMCA here in Springboro. I paid for half a month. They took my money and canceled me right away. Claiming I never canceled my membership at West Carrolton Y and owed two months worth. Why would they let me join in the first place? It's just really shady practice. Make sure that you get proof that you canceled your membership because the Y is all about profit!! read more

I had been a member of the Y for 3 months and then canceled the membership because I only use the therapy pool and they closed the pool at the end of the month of August for repairs. I rejoined the membership Saturday Sept 3rd after the pool reopened. Upon arriving I called the front desk to ask them if the therapy pool was open. The front desk female said it was open till 4:45 pm. I paid the $30 rejoining fee and then the money for rest of the month. When I went to the pool it was closed even though they told me it was opened till 4:45. I cannot use the lane pool, I can only use the therapy pool for therapy. This incident with the constant closing of the therapy pool is a huge disservice for the members who use the pool. I watched three sets of families being told that the pool was closed even though it was supposed to be opened. The Y does not put any note on the door stating that they closed the pool and they tell you over the phone that the pool is open when the pool is closed. When I joined I told the YMCA member that I only use the pool and I drive 30 min one way to use the pool. I cannot be a member of this Ymca. This has happened over and over again. Often they tell me that the are short on life guards and cant help it. Again, I say they need to do a better job to communicate this to its members. I can join the Life Time Fitness center for $120 a month it is very expensive but they guarantee that the pool is open. The front desk does lie's to me with response " its open " when it is actually closed or closing early due to staff issues. This Y has terrible service. If they cant give me what I'm paying for then they must give me a full refund. Please don't join this Y with desire of a therapy pool. I promise you , you will regret it and this YMCA does not care about the lack of communication and disservice to you. You will regret it. read more

I was wearing a workout tank top and I was pulled aside by an older lady and I was told that I need to be wearing a shirt over it because it was 'basically a bra.' I have worn it many times and I have never been told that. The workout tank top doesn't show any stomach and barely shows any of my chest. That comment made me feel really insecure about myself and my body because if I was smaller and thinner, I feel like this wouldn't have happened. I usually don't leave reviews, but this experience made me never want to come back here again. read more

This YMCA is awesome. The staff are very friendly, it has a large workout area, multiple basketball courts, an indoor track, a pool, separate areas for children, and scheduled workout classes. My wife and I enjoy working out here. read more

Join this one ONLY if you like being 'watched' all the time. And if you are white, because in that case you will not be 'watched', or even if you are, no one is gonna approach you and say 'sir, you have been using this equipment for too long'. Even though I am actively exercising, some staff will approach once in a while and ask to release the equipment, whilst I could see at least half a dozen old white men using cellphone most of the time sitting on an equipment and they will not say a word. read more

This is a great local gym. I am in the military on leave and they issued me a free pass for the 10 days I am here. They have plenty of cardio equipment and the free weight area has pretty much everything you could ask for. The only drawl back is that the dumbbells are limited, there are only one set of dumbbells for weights 30lb and up, and they only go up to 110lb and then there is a set of 120lb. The cardio room is also kept very cold so you may want a hoodie and an extra shirt. They have a 'crossfit' area with medicine balls, a rope to bat, punching bag and boxes for jumping. Everything is pretty clean. Bring headphones because there is no music playing. read more

Wow. This is a fairly large YMCA. I was here for a lifitng competition...so in review...can't really say much about the facility. There is a lot of space, a lot of equipment for workouts and other classroom areas. The pool area was really nice. Bathroom/locker room was kind of a wreck considering the amount of people in and out of it all day. Ran out of paper towels in the restroom at one point and the guy at the front desk didn't seem to worried about it. read more

This facility is simply not big enough for the current amount of members. While it would be nice to use all the different amenities they offer.. you can't ever get in to use them because it's constantly packed with people who are staring and judging. Half the time there would be an unattended small child on the machine I wanted to use. So to get away from all that I decided to use the track and the area right outside the track to do my workouts. First time I went to use it, a giant dust bunny flew into my mouth and I realized that no one had been cleaning up tHEre. Just an overall genuinely unpleasant experience. At first I thought we had found our place for our special needs son with autism for swim lessons. Unfortunately out of nowhere our instructor quits after 6 months. I understand things happen but the director was just going to throw my son to anyone who didn't even have experience with special needs kids. I voice my concern and never got calls nor emails back. We still had paid for our lessons and was pretty much left that we were SOL even thou we paid. Not even a courtesy call. read more

I love coming here! Conveniently located close to home, this facility offers a wide range of fitness equipment! From a 25 yard indoor swimming pool, to over 4,000 square ft of Aerobics Studio space, this facility is one you will want to come back to on a regular basis. My all time favorite is their walking/ running tracks. Not to mention they offer endless fitness/wellness classes that are a must try.The staff and instructors here are very friendly and will work with you on achieving your ultimate fitness goals. I have been attending Silver Sneakers classes, three times a week, at the Coffman Y for almost a year...I love this Y!...The Silver Sneakers instructors, Karen and Jen, are excellent instructors.....Silver Sneakers is a wonderful program for flexibility, strength, balance, and aerobics. The classes are fun...exercising to music...and it's a great place to meet new folks....I have fewer aches and pains now and much better mobility. My cholesterol even dropped 25 points this year!....Also, the front desk folks are so helpful, especially Sherry.......My daughter's family also utilizes this Y and enjoys the gym equipment....A friend of mine utilizes the swimming pool.....Coffman Y has something for every age group and exercise interest..... read more
