I took time off work to go to Xfinity to find out information about upgrading cell phones for my wife and I. We have comcast/xfinity in the home and at my wifes small business. I walked in, checked in, and then waited. After a few minutes, a guy named Daniel called my name. We sit down and I hand him the business account statement and say first off, my wife and i would like to upgrade our phones, they are tied to our business account and this is the place we got them last time. First off, is this still the correct place to do it or do i go to apple to get the phones and bring them here, how does this work? Daniel spends a few minutes playing on his computer and then says he will be right back. He leaves and a few minutes later comes back with a drink in his hand that was half full and he was asking his coworker if he wanted it, I guess he thought he was funny, and then informs me that he cannot talk to me because its my wifes name on the account and not mine. Never says hey, do you mind if i call your wife and get her on the phone to verify your identity. Never says hey, we cant open the accounts without your wife here but you are in the right building and here is how it works. I was furious! Does this Daniel realize he just wasted 2 hours of my life? I have unfortunately been to this store several times because the corporate offices have failed to help me add or adjust services on a cellular device. Every time, the associates (and the manager Ashton) have basically told me to pound sand and call the 1-800 number. One associate today flat out said "we cannot add a new Apple Watch to your service account because we do not have the level of expertise to do this here right now." In what world has customer service become this terrible and on such a consistent basis? What is the point of this store even existing except to sell you crap? Oh right. I came into the Xfinity store simply to return a cable box after moving. I checked in, was told to sit and wait, and ended up waiting over 20 minutes--even though all I needed was a quick two-minute task. I wasn't feeling well that day, and it seemed unnecessary to sit around while other customers had long, detailed conversations about phones and new services. The front desk associate was polite and tried to help. She explained that my account was deactivated and the "return equipment" button was grayed out, but she didn't know what else to do, so I would need to keep waiting. Since I was sick and had already waited, I asked to speak with a manager. This is when I met Ashton Glenn, the assistant manager, and it was hands-down one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. From the start, his attitude was rude and dismissive. Instead of listening or trying to problem-solve, he smugly told me my only two options were to sit and wait or leave. He refused to even tell me my place in line, and he seemed to take satisfaction in denying any help. Ironically, when I was finally called up, returning the box took less than two minutes--proving he could have easily handled it instead of spending more time arguing with me. Instead, he even suggested I drive two miles to UPS to return the equipment--while I was literally standing right in front of him in the store. To make matters worse, after I was finally being helped by another associate, Ashton hovered around the area, almost circling the computers as if to mock me rather than moving on. His pompous, unhelpful attitude left such a bad impression that I actually considered canceling my 15-year Comcast account. Xfinity is already known for frustrating service, but this was on another level. The front desk associate at least tried to be kind, but Ashton Glenn, the assistant manager, set a terrible tone for the store. If Xfinity wants to keep loyal customers, they should seriously reconsider who they put in charge of managing their customer experience. read more

I sent a blistering response to a person that sent an email asking about service. His name was Ali and my email mysteriously disappeared. Probably doesn't make any difference as I read similar complaints about time spent trying to get service etc. But I feel better telling my experience anyway. I called to do whatever I needed to do to lower our bill. Fixed income, higher prices everywhere, same boat as everyone. I got our bill reduced by $75. For one month. Offered lower bill with a tablet. Next bill had charge of $30 for tablet. I called to return it. Past the 14 day return policy. But my bill wasn't posted til after the 14 days. Do you think there was any sane resolution? I was told so many lies. I documented every one of my tedious time consuming calls. Just like the many other recipients of shit service I have given up. Female representative was instructed NOT to change package. Go home to find that most of my favorites no longer have access to. She canceled a duplicate recording because she believed it to be a mistake. It wasn't recording for cable but security camera recordings!! Then she scheduled service for internet and security system issues. I got an 888 call saying they resolved issue and may not need my appt. What did they resolve?? Spent time on phone with someone with very heavy accent, he kept me on hold for 25 minutes and never came back. Tech arrived doesnt have security system certification and had to get someone else. Luckily he was here before and competently fixed internet signal and security issues. Turns out the modem they shipped me was defective. But now i have to spend hours on the phone to fix what she did to our channels and security camera recordings. read more

Gather around friends, and let me tell you the tale of the time I got kicked out of the Morton Grove Xfinity store! We just decided to switch our internet provider, so I decided to drop off the Xfinity equipment while running errands. Upon entering the store, I'm greeted by a couple of dude bros, one of which tells me I can't return equipment if my name isn't on the account. I then ask him if he can look up the phone number on the account and see i if I'm on it. At this point, dude bro 2 intervenes and says anyone can return equipment. Dude bro 2 then tells me to have a seat, which was confusing, given the employee/customer ratio. There was one family being helped, another family who had been waiting an inexplicable amount of time, and me. There were about 10 total employees milling about on the floor, chatting to themselves, sweeping, and doing other mundane tasks. The first family left after about 10 minutes. Several minutes later, when the other family was still waiting, I asked what we were waiting for, and was ignored. Several minutes later, I stood up and took a panorama shot of the store (apologies for the quality - I was today years old when I took my first), which got the attention of the employee who found it more important to sweep than help customers. When he asked why I was taking pictures, I told him, and then he demanded that I delete the photo. After I refused, he told me to get out and send the equipment back via UPS. With these kind of shenanigans, it's no wonder why Xfinity has such a shitty reputation. Good riddance! read more

I must have called them over 20 times to straighten the bill and been in their store over ten times with similar problems. They lock you into a long-term commitment. I signed up with them when I was in my apartment, then moved into my dad's house in mid-September 2023, took over that account, and added some boxes. They could never figure out which account I was talking about and told me my account was "closed" all the time. What a mess. I closed my account on 12/16/23! I went there today for the first time in a couple of years. When I was here last time, it was designed like a bank with teller windows, you took a number and were called to a window. It was very efficient back then. Today, the store has been remodeled to the same format as Verizon stores, with little tables. I went there for help on my bill because I was charged twice for December. The woman said that I have a $321 credit towards my March bill. If you've ever been to a Comcast store in the past, this new format that Xfinity has with their current stores is definitely an improvement by far! Before, you would have to wait in a long line similar to waiting to see a teller at a bank. Now, you check in and take a seat and wait until your name is called. During your wait, you can either lounge by the TV and stream some shows OR you can use their WiFi and do as you please. Every time I've visited, I've been supported by really knowledgeable and courteous workers helping customers out. I have slower service than I did with ATT and when I send a picture to a friend he can't receive it because he's andriod. When I call, they say it's his fault. When he calls; they have no idea.
