I went there with a guest my treat. We walked in we where greeted and placed at a booth. We both go to serve our selves and the staff was lingering around us , ok no biggie. We are what we served our selves round two. Again they where lingering and observing what we served our selves. My guest saw they had put out ribs and attempted to serve them selves and the waitress said no eat you lunch that dinner. This drew attention and I said if that's dinner we'll pay dinner what's the problem. No you lunch she said. I was dumb found. So we went back to the booth shrugging it off. 5 minutes past and here comes the check. I'm just digging into plate two. She then came over thinking I was done mind you the plate is more than half full. Grabbed my fork and ask me if I was finished. At this point I wanted to speak with management. But guess what folks there was no one that spoke English fluently enough to have a conversation. From what I got from the male who's job is to watch and stir the food. There was no one in management present. At this point I was ready to go ASAP. All I got because I was flustered was sorry sorry. I paid my tab leaving my plate partially full and walked out. My guest left a pair of glasses behind and we had to go back to retrieve it. I will never go back and would not recommend this buffet to my worst enemy. I was insulted, embarrassed and hungry. In conclusion I called later on that evening and left a message because no one answered go figure. It is now 10:15 pm and have not received a call back to address my concern. Again go figure. We used to order from here all the time as we live in the hood. Quite accidentally we discovered the other Chinese takeout directly up the road in same town and haven't looked back. So Today decided to give Xin Xing another try. Got roast pork egg foo. And they actually BURNED one side. I mean dark. All 3 patty's. Rice was even over cooked a bit. We have been going to this place for years. Something happened to the staff in the last few months. I'm not sure if it's under new ownership or some of the staff left. Last night we ordered from there. The delivery man initially gave us the wrong order, prompting him to have to take it back and bring ours. Upon arrival, the entire bag of food smelled like cigarettes and when we opened our order everything seemed thrown together. We ordered steamed dumplings. I ordered from this place because it was extremely close and I could do it through the yelp app on my phone. Next time I won't be lazy and make the same mistake. The food tasted gross and greasy. The wonton soup was the strangest shade of yellow that even thinking about trying it made me nauseous. I ended up throwing out about 90% of the food I ordered. read more

I could not believe how dirty this place was!! And we have been ordering with delivery from these people for years! I will not go in this place again, I have a few standards. First as I walked to the door it was so dirty, grubby dirty, sticky yuck! Then I peered into the kitchen there are 2 men cooking in this filthy kitchen, filthy floors, filthy stove and pots. The tables looked clean. But the lack of cleanly is a worry, it's just filthy in this place, my eyes were all over and everything was like it had not ever been cleaned since day one! They just cook all day and don't clean a thing, just make their money, without caring how unsanitary they are!!!! I got the food, my husband wanted. But I just could bring myself to eat it after seeing this place, I don't think I should have let my husband eat it. I placed an order for delivery when the driver got to the house my sprinklers were on so he decided he was going to leave it at the curb. If I didn't see him making this delivery my food would've sat on the curb as people walk their dogs or whatever. I asked him to bring it to the side door or at least to the gate and that seem to be a problem too. On top of all of that when I went to go down to get it from him he had the nerve to pass a comment and chuckle instead of apologizing for his rudeness. A friend and I were comparing notes on best quick food restaurants and for Chinese food, he recommended I try Xin Xing on Nassau blvd. He said ask for Wendy, tell her I recommended them to you. Today was my first visit. I'm fairly new to the area and had been patronizing another more convenient Chinese kitchen, whose food was acceptable, pretty much like other Chinese kitchens I've been to over the years. As I didn't have a menu to work from, I drove to Xin Xing to place my order. Parking was not a problem as there is a community parking lot slightly diagonally across the street as well as street parking too. The menu offers many choices- I ordered wonton soup, shrimp rolls, and ginger chicken w snow peas, broccoli, and other vegetables in Kung fu Brown sauce. The vegetables were excellent quality, and the chicken tender and tasty. Unexpectedly the sauce was exceptionally delicious. I have never been served a brown sauce that had such a standout flavor! Ever!!! I am not exaggerating. Oh and the pint of wonton soup had SIX wontons! Maybe it was a special, I don't know, but I'm used to being served maybe 3 or 4 in a pint of soup. The shrimp rolls were also fresh and delicious with a thin crunchy crust- a perfect appetizer. This is a very friendly place, with a standard small store Chinese restaurant atmosphere, but the food eclipses any Chinese restaurant I've ever been to. Local take out place on Nassau Blvd in Garden City South. The food is always consistent with good prices (Quart of Won Ton soup $2.50) and large portions. The only setback is they may take a little bit longer only for the reason that almost everything is made to order. Otherwise a solid place for some good Chinese food from a friendly, family owned place. Ideal for local delivery for the Garden City/Franklin Square/Adelphi University crowd as it is right around the corner. read more

Really good food. Switched over from Kosher Wing Wang (sp) and glad I did. Prices are great and food is good. Never too greasy. MY only 1 compliant and advice. Don't order the Pad Thai. Nobody probably does bc this is a CHINESE restaurant not a Thai restaurant! So really it's my fault. The "Pad Thai" was VERY SPICY! A lot of red pepper!! Mouth is on fire! I ordered the shrimp and broccoli. It only had 4 shrimp. I called to complain and they told me that it was normal. 7$ for 4 shrimp a few pieces of broccoli and some rice. Was told that the large comes with 5 shrimp. I don't know about you but 1 extra shrimp for 11$ instead of 7$ does not sound like a good deal. I ordered from their website because I wanted the food delivered at a particular time. The site lets you choose the time you want the delivery. NOT..... I asked for delivery at 6:15 and at 5:30 the guy was at my door with the food. I told him it wasn't supposed to be delivered until 6:15, but he didn't speak english ( or pretended not to). I called the restaurant to complain and was told that you can't choose a time, even though the site CLEARLY states that you can, and my receipt had the time on it. The pan fried noodles are so good but I'm giving them 3 stars because the portion got a lot smaller than it used to be. This place used to use the aluminum containers for the pan fried noodles for around 9-10 bucks with tax but this time when I got it, it was in a white plastic container. The white container isn't as deep as the aluminum container and there were very little noodles compared to how it used to be. read more

I used to love this place, and the staff was kind. I used to stop there after work and the lady who took the order and I would catch up. I believe it's now under new management because the staff is now very rude and the food quality has plummeted. First off, the lady on the phone who took my order cut me off and had a very annoyed attitude for no reason. When I asked a question she huffed. When the food came I gave the man a good tip, not quite as much as I wanted too due to the fact I couldn't find my wallet but it was a good, very fair amount. The delivery man apparently didn't think so as he said "really? are you serious?" and cursed at me with a dirty look. I said "yes, as that's all I have on me" and he gave me such a mean look and stared at me for around 30 seconds before leaving. I've never been treated like this and I even had to call the place who of course blew it off. It's a shame this place has gone so downhill. The food was cold and tasted..off. None of us finished. Really tasty Chinese takeout. We recently moved to the area and this place was the most convenient to order from. They have a nice selection of dishes, some with a little Sichuan influence. I go into Chinese takeout places with zero expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised when our food was actually quite flavorful. Their hot and sour soup is really delicious, almost on par with more authentic sit-down places. I love their Singapore Mei Fun too. Their fried rice is always delicious, and the General Tso chicken is always crispy and flavored nicely (not sickly sweet like some places). As with most places, I think some of the dishes are a hit or a miss depending on your taste. I'm not a fan of dumplings or fried wontons, I prefer a thinner wrapper. But, honestly they're not that different from most Chinese takeout places. We always use online order and have no problems with it, but we usually pick it up ourselves since it's so nearby. read more
