This was my first time getting take-out from Golden Wok and I chose this place based off Yelp reviews. The place itself looks clean, but I have mixed feelings about the food. The shrimp lo mien was very tasty and a good portion size. The fried chicken wings were decent too. BUT, I also ordered General Tso chicken and it was disgusting! It was fried entirely too hard, in old oil, and was covered in a red sauce- red red like food coloring- see pic. General Tso usually comes with broccoli- this order came with **TWO** small broccoli florets with lots of carrots, celery and green peppers--- YUK! I also ordered egg rolls and was given all pork! I guess if you don't specify no meat- they automatically give pork. Finding good Chinese takeout nowadays is a hard task but this place is definitely NOT it. read more

While I order from here a lot in the past 20 years the quality of the food has unfortunately gone down.

Our office orders Chinese food delivery every Tuesday and had been ordering from a local Uniondale place for over a year. We decided to change establishments after persistent issues with the person taking our order. Golden Wok was a refreshing change, as they made sure an English speaking person verified our order. As for the food. The quantity is very good, boneless spareribs and wonton soup are also very good. Fried rice is subpar as is the undercooked eggrolls. All in all, we decided to keep on trying different entrées that this restaurant has to offer. read more

Thurs lunchtime must be a bad time to order here. The food had no flavor - NONE. The wonton/egg drop soup was very dark yellow, like coloring had been added (but without flavoring). The moo shu chicken was awful and wasn't delivered with hoisin sauce to help matters. The Orange chicken was actually general tso's flavored with what seemed like a bit of orange juice, not enough to add any flavor. The pork fried rice was flavorless and also dark yellow in color. I'm truly sorry I paid in cash. I would have returned the food and challenged the $75 credit card bill (incl tip). My first and last time buying food here. read more

Great for take out. I order an egg roll, Hunan Spicy Beef, and pork Fried rice. All the ingredients were fresh. The vegetables were still crunchy and the texture was good. The Hunan beef could have been spicier but was still good. The parking on Sunday was full so I parked next door and walked over. Everything was delicious! Egg drop wonton soup came with 4 wontons. The broth had delicious flavor! Egg roll was good as well, wasn't greasy but was still nicely fried. Not bad, but not the best Chinese food. Delivery time was FAST! I don't know if it was because I ordered at 4:00 or because it was less than 2 miles away, but that was pretty nice. The tiny-ass rice box that comes with a pint of food just isn't enough. I'm just left with a container a quarter way full of sauce with no rice to soak it up. When I ordered delivery through Yelp, I had an option for how spicy I wanted my Mapo Tofu (Bean Curd Szechuan Style), so of course I put EXTRA SPICY, but I could barely feel the spice and it was very sweet. Recently discovered this outstanding local Chinese food take-out restaurant. To date, we've ordered from them twice. In both instances the delivery was so quick that they must be cooking in the delivery vehicle.. All kidding aside, the food was incredibly fresh & abundance in portion size. We ordered a number of items such as steamed vegetable dumplings, a combo of steamed chicken & shrimp with Chinese vegetables, fried rice, & spare ribs. Wish i could give them no stars. Once my favorite Chinese restaurant i would order all the time. But they've become do careless and rude! They've messed up my orders numerous times in the past 6 months, small to huge orders but gave them the benefit. For example tonight I ordered 5 wings chopped up with green plantains for delivery with only hot sauce my order took 1 hr to arrive i leave 8mins away, only 4 wings and my plantains hard. Food was cold, my water was hot, and 1 packet of hot sauce. I called to complain and was told no your order isn't wrong. They will never get my service again!! Food is fast and inexpensive. I like using the word inexpensive rather than cheap. It makes the restaurant sound a bit more upscale. Seating is limited to a few tables and chairs. You can help yourself to self serve hot tea while you're waiting on your order. If you plan to phone in your order for a pick up. Do so by 1130am. After that time the phones light up over there and they will put you on hold indefinitely. If you want delivery, it can take up to 30 minutes, and remember to always be generous with your tip to the delivery person, they work hard for their money. I recommend there lunch specials. The beef and broccoli, sesame chicken and lo mein are good. The singapore mei fun and fried chicken wings are also yummy. The hot and sour and wonton soups are ok, pretty typical flavor profile for Chinese fast food. Overall for $6.00 you get a nice meal for lunch and depending on your appetite, leftovers for tomorrow night. Don't worry about finding parking, the place is located in a small strip mall. read more

Good food delivered quickly for lunch at work they know the area and are decently priced

First time here in the restaurant but not first time eating food. While I have had a limited amount of items, I can honestly say how impressed I am with their service and food. I walked in to a big hello and smile and even though the owner was on the phone he managed to smile and be patient for just one minute while he finished the call. (Friendly staff always impresses me.) The take out restaurant is a good size that can hold at least 24 people comfortably, but most people are taking out anyway. Great wonton and egg drop stops loaded with flavor and not your typical "hey... this should is missing something." The shrimp in Lobster Sauce was 10 large shrimp in a thick rich sauce with traditional flavors. food meat ribs cooked well, not undercooked our shoe-leather style. Good vegetable and chicken dumplings that were steamed and still tasty and firm. I am looking forward to trying many more items and will update my reviews. read more

Ordered delivery and paid online. The delivery driver insisted that I hadn't paid and shoved his leg into the door of my hotel room (to ensure that I couldn't close it) while he demanded cash. He then called the restaurant to verify whether or not I had paid, although I had already shown him my paid receipt. I'm a very small woman and he's a very large man so outside of the fact that his hyper-aggressive stance was completely unnecessary, it was absolutely overkill. When the woman on the phone confirmed my payment, the driver walked away without saying anything at all. so, I really enjoy this chinese food place. its situated right near Cafe Baci and Canz. went here for lunch with a co-worker about a year ago, and for $6 for the size portion you get and a drink, was really worth it. so went back again yesterday and I was nearby and craving chinese for lunch. got the general tso's chicken, with pork fried rice and wonton egg drop soup. the wonton egg drop was decent, nothing great, but the general tso's and the rice was very good. the general tso's actually had a bit of a spice to it, which is hard to find at a chinese food place without having to ask for it spicy (its supposed to be vs. sesame chicken). the rice is pretty good too, they actually cook it to order (From white rice) instead of having it in a large vat sitting to be reheated. i think its worth the trip if you live/work around the area. read more
