Pork fried rice (notice how yellow the rice is)

Thurs lunchtime must be a bad time to order here. The food had no flavor - NONE. The wonton/egg drop soup was very dark yellow, like coloring had been added (but without flavoring). The moo shu chicken was awful and wasn't delivered with hoisin sauce to help matters. The Orange chicken was actually general tso's flavored with what seemed like a bit of orange juice, not enough to add any flavor. The pork fried rice was flavorless and also dark yellow in color. I'm truly sorry I paid in cash. I would have returned the food and challenged the $75 credit card bill (incl tip). My first and last time buying food here.

Was in the mood for Chinese...I'm always in the mood for Chinese. Decided on egg drop wonton and shrimp with lobster sauce lunch special. It came with pork fried rice and an egg roll. Everything was delicious! Egg drop wonton soup came with 4 wontons. The broth had delicious flavor! Egg roll was good as well, wasn't greasy but was still nicely fried. Shrimp with lobster sauce was the best tasting I've ever had! So much flavor! It came with 5 jumbo shrimp. Fried rice was good as well. I would absolutely order from here again!

Not bad, but not the best Chinese food. Delivery time was FAST! I don't know if it was because I ordered at 4:00 or because it was less than 2 miles away, but that was pretty nice. The tiny-ass rice box that comes with a pint of food just isn't enough. I'm just left with a container a quarter way full of sauce with no rice to soak it up. When I ordered delivery through Yelp, I had an option for how spicy I wanted my Mapo Tofu (Bean Curd Szechuan Style), so of course I put EXTRA SPICY, but I could barely feel the spice and it was very sweet. It wasn't disgustingly sweet, but come on. I may be American but I'm not afraid of a little heat. Over all it was ok.

This Chinese joint should be 4 stars. Food came fast, and a large order, roast pork with vegetables was the only thing that was meh. Everything else was excellent- check out this spread in the photos. Singapore noodles were really good.

When you dine in they will bring some sliced watermelon, water and rice crackers to the table to start your experience. I ordered a number of different dishes to get a feel for the place, as well as feed the family. The order: walovi/Wanglaoji (can of tea served cold) Scallion Pancakes, Lychee Shrimp Balls, Beef Soup with hand pulled noodles, special dumplings, Mashed Cucumber salad, sausage, and stir fried beef noodles. Overall the food was amazing 9.5/10 The entire meal was delicious, the noodles were perfectly cooked and the dishes full of flavor. The Leychee shrimp balls were excellent, the mashed cucumber salad was refreshing and full of flavor. All the dishes were seasoned well, the special dumplings were a little over seasoned and thus the 9.5 instead of a perfect 10. The tea was refreshing and not overly sweet it was the perfect accompaniment to the meal.

The restaurant is smallish and can probably seat up to 18ppl. This is a unique Harbin restaurant (the Capital region of a Providence in Northeast China). This authentic cuisine is hard to find; even in Flushing, Queens! On their store awning, it states "We Make Real Chinese Food".... They ain't kidding!! Note: Closed on Tuesdays! We went for lunch on a Saturday, and the restaurant was full of Asian people. There was a steady flow of Asians the entire 2.5 hrs we were there! (Yes, we had a leisurely 2.5 hr lunch; catching up with friends from out of town. lol) Our menu (shared by 4 adults, 1 child): -- House Special Dumplings ($18/12pcs): we ordered these boiled. Tasty; especially with the chili sauce and vinegar. -- Sauteed Tofu Sheet w.Chili Peppers $18: traditional Northeast China dish. Good but would have been better with more chili peppers. We added chili oil for an extra kick. -- Double Cooked Pork w.Sweet & Sour Sauce $20: Excellent dish! Preparation is very unique! There was no actual sweet & sour "sauce" but rather, the sweet & sour condiments were cooked into the batter of the pork. Loved this dish! Get this! -- Mala Lamb Ribs $28: Another Excellent dish! The spicy and numbing Mala taste was obvious without being overly spicy. Great flavors, Great texture. Get this! -- Pork Fried Noodles $15: All noodles are hand-pulled on-site, with noodle chefs having over 20 years of experience. This dish was made with just ONE very long noodle! Served with a pair of scissors. lol Great texture, and soooo satisfying! Even better with some chili oil! This had limited protein but a good dish nonetheless. -- Northeastern Style Braised Pork Elbow $36: Excellent dish! Huge portion. Perfectly braised, fall-off-the bone deliciousness. It was slightly salty, so definitely eat this with some rice. Get this! -- Rice ($2/bowl): entrees do NOT come with rice, so order on the side. -- Condiments: on each table, there is a condiments tray consisting of chili oil, vinegar, soy sauce, and salt/pepper. Definitely try their chili oil and vinegar. This really enhanced the flavors of the food. But some of the dishes didn't need condiments at all, and were terrific as served. Customer service was so warm, welcoming and friendly! They are happy to answer any questions you may have, and offered great suggestions. So, if you've never had Harbin Cuisine before, peruse the 6 page menu and ask questions before ordering! Lots of great dishes on their menu! Parking: street parking is available (in front and on the side road). They do have a small parking lot in back but spots are limited since it's a shared lot. Looking forward to a return visit to explore their menu. What a treat!! Thanks to Y&Z for a wonderful 1st experience at your restaurant!

The wonton soup was decent......wontons were very good but the broth however was a bit bland. Roast pork fried rice was pretty good.....a little dry and skimpy on the pork but the flavor was more than adequate. Hot and sour soup was really tasty with a good bit of spice. Scallion bubble pancake was very light and tasty. The Emperor cabbage appetizer was probably my favorite meal item.....crispy cabbage tossed in a peanuty garlic sauce with honey. It was served cold (which usually I'm not a big fan of, but this was an exception) and had a great flavor. Pork belly appetizer tasted very good but it wasn't crispy (which would have made it so much better) and the buns they were served with didn't taste completely fresh. Dan Dan noodles with ground beef was excellent.... they're served spicy and you can simply request the level of heat you prefer to fit your taste buds. Soup dumplings were of decent size and quite juicy...... unfortunately they lacked some flavor. Mongolian beef dish was excellent as was the kung pao chicken. Overall it was a pretty good meal but there was some room for improvement. The staff was very nice and it did have quite a cool "old school American Chinese restaurant" vibe from yesteryear.

Luckily, there was only a short wait for our party of two at around 12pm...but I suspect the wait can be much longer later in the afternoon or during peak dinner times. Once your number is called, you go up some stairs to the eating/tabled area. There are tables and chairs for 2, 4 and more guests throughout the large space. The pace of the restaurant is very fast...as soon as you are seated, you are given tea and your waiter comes over right away to take any order you are ready to give. Its helpful to ask for a menu while you are waiting for a table so you know what to order when asked. We had some soup dumplings as well as a (large) soup. Everything was very good and out in about 15 minutes...very fast. The soup dumplings were great...but as expected are filled with piping hot broth so be careful when eating. They have some other appetizers and dishes available. There are also some drink options including cold teas, soft drinks and beer. Overall a great experience...despite visiting on a busy Saturday, we were in and out in about 40-45 minutes. Street parking can be tough in the area but there are a few garages around...one of the more reasonable options is the garage at the Skyview shops which currently charge about $6 for up to three (3) hours and is a short 5 minute walk away.
