Just used a Groupon to have my hair treated, which I have never done, and was a little nervous. I first called and spoke to Chazz who was extremely helpful and told me all about the treatment, did not rush me, he answered all my questions The stylist was Irene and she was a joy from the beginning to the end. I got the Agave Oil treatment and am now a fan!! I was introduced to the Owner, Rocco, and he was so wonderful and friendly. I highly recommend this salon for the service and the staff! I had purchased a groupon to have a Brazilian blowout with Irene. The day of the appointment, she called to see if I could come in for an earlier time slot, which I couldn't because of a previous commitment. I showed up at my time, which she said was fine, and I waited another thirty minutes to be sat in her chair. Without touching my hair, she started to tell me that I would be charged $30 more because my hair was so thick and long (thick, yes...long only if you consider shoulder length long.) I said fine because I really wanted the treatment. She went on to tell me she really didn't think it would work for my hair. "Only a 75% reduction of frizz..." Fine by me. Let's do it! Irene continued to discourage me from the treatment, and to make a long story short, by the time the conversation was done, there was only a 50% chance it would remove my frizz (I have never had my hair called frizzy...it actually smoothes out really easily.) I was so fed up with her (pointing out how bad my hair cut would look when she was done, telling me groupon would refund me without a doubt, giving me a blank stare and then a "no, no, I love doing this treatment" when I said "so you don't want to do this to my hair,) that I walked out. I really really wanted my hair straightened. Irene really didn't want to do it. I am pretty sure she just didn't have time, and she was flat out rude. read more

Horrible costumer service! 1 star is too generous. I had a very negative experience at XOXO Salon, and I am sharing it with all my friends, coworkers, my kids' friends' parents, my meetup.com group, etc. I bought a Groupon for a Keratin treatment with Irene. I talked to her twice on the phone, to a receptionist once, and i asked questions, I told them I had a Groupon, etc. However, when I showed up for my appointment (which she rescheduled on the same date), she told me she was going to charge me $40 extra, because of the length of my hair (which is not too long, only a couple inches below my shoulders), and that I also needed a haircut. I politely told her that on my Groupon there was no note to any extra charge for longer hair, that I was not prepared to pay extra $, and that I would like to reschedule, so I could come back with more $ to actually get the keratin treatment. Irene's response was: You can get a refund through Groupon. So, she did not want my business at all. If they are not willing to honor Groupons, why do they run the offers? The stylists are rude, disorganized and not willing to book appointments if you have a voucher. One of the stylists could barely speak English and was not able to read and understand text messages. DO NOT SEE IRENE. I purchased a groupon for a partial highlight and cut. I asked for it to be lighter and if she could do a few highlights around my face. Long story short, there is about an inch of white/yellow hair surrounding my face with some down my part. There are no highlights around my face, I am pretty sure she just pulled the hair directly surrounding my face back and bleached it. I expressed my hesitation and she tells me "this is what you asked for", "you wanted this". I decide to go home and style it.. and still HATE IT. I call to go back in and she tells me "you need to choose your words more wisely", "it will look better when it grows out and you can see roots", "you just aren't use to it", "You do understand.. That a highlight will make it lighter?". No.. I had multiple people tell me how terrible it looked. Thankfully she put a really dark toner on it and it looks better. I will NOT be returning to this salon. Irene was incredibly rude, horrible service, and acted like I was a complete idiot who had never had my hair highlighted before. read more

EXTREMELY disappointed with both quality and service from this salon. Went in for a trim and half highlight. Talked about how I like a natural blone look. First rinse I had streaks of bright red everywhere. Next wash my hair was highlighter pink. FOUR hours later walked out presentable. Was told to come back if I wanted it to be fix anymore. Asked to come back and have the red fixed. Irene said she didn't have time and that she would have to charge me for a full color if she did anymore-- and also complained about spending four hours on my hair. I want to start off saying that I do love my hair, so the end result of my experience at XOXO is what I wanted, however, the actual experience can only be described as awkward and inappropriate. I purchased the Groupon for a full highlight, cut and blow dry and scheduled my appointment online (which I loved). I went in and the atmosphere was chaotic. I was seated right away and my hairstylist was Chazz. Chazz is probably the fasted person who has ever done foils in my hair, but he is incredibly rough. Instead of asking me to lean my head a certain way, he would literally grab my head and push it in the way he wanted. Our conversation was incredibly one-sided. He is incredibly smug and would basically cut down anything I had to say. If I had an opinion it was proven wrong with some sort of "wisdom". He inappropriately talked about his relationship with his wife. And he would often bring up politics, which anyone knows that you don't talk about politics because you don't know who you will offend. After he was finished with my foils, he let me sit there, no magazine or anything. After 40 minutes of sitting without anything to read or watch, he took me to wash my hair. He ripped out the foils and washed my hair. The head wash was nice until he yanked my head up to wash and massage my neck. He was just forceful with the wash. When he finally got to the blow dry (which took 40 minutes) he would brush through my hair and then his own. Talk about unsanitary. He would then stop the blow dry to talk to other people, which is why it took so long. Needless to say, when it was done I was so happy to get out of there. Again, my hair looks fantastic and he did what I wanted, but the actual experience left a sour taste in my mouth. read more

She is the best hairstylist I have ever had in my 17 years of getting my hair done by different stylists. I would go from stylist to stylist every few years. My hair would just never act right. It would break off in places, my cuts would be uneven. I just figured my hair was like that - until I met Sandy about 4 years ago. I'm a Black American with curly thick hair. My first visit with Sandy was a great transformation! She educated me on why my hair wasn't acting right, gave me a professional cut that made my hair healthier and manageable, and she suggested hair products that I use to this day. Ever since going to Sandy my hair has thrived like never before. My hair has never been this long and healthy and I have color!! She's a great visionary for hair styles - I always walk out of XOXO Salon looking amazing! I have referred several people of different hair types to her and they all love her. I always have a stack of Sandy's business cards because I constantly get people asking me who does my hair. I always look forward to my hair appts with Sandy. It's truly a spa experience. She takes her time, making you feel relaxed - and she gives scalp massages! OMG! Heaven! Sandy has a warm, friendly personality to add to her expert skills which makes it an even more enjoyable experience. I am really confused as to why previous reviews have rated this place so poorly. I can't speak for the work of other stylists, but I have been going exclusively to this salon for haircuts from Chazz for the past 2 years and have been nothing but thrilled. Every time I walk in, it's like seeing my family. Everybody in the salon is courteous and cheerful, my appointments are always on time, and I'm always happy with the results. I have been seeing Irene now for almost a year. By far the best hair stylist and colorist I have been to! When I first came to her, my hair had never looked worse. I was new to the area and went to a hairdresser who really messed up my hair. My usual soft blonde color was now copper and orange looking. So horrible! Thankfully Irene was up for the challenge and assured me she could fix it. She is one of her word. My hair color and cut has never looked better! She really knows what she is doing. This past Saturday, 11/2, I had Chaz both highlight and cut my hair. They made room for me when my scheduled allowed .... Saturday at 8am and were there at 8, open, positive, and I felt the atmosphere to be fun. My hair stylist was Joe Joe. I got a all over color, hair cut, style and highlight's. She barley talked to me and seemed to rush everything. I didn't notice it for a couple days until I was trying to figure out why one side seemed different then the other. I combed my hair strait and saw that my hair was uneven and one side was three inches shorter then the other. I also had to redye my highlights that same week and the black is already faded after two weeks. I sent her a picture and when I called her and told her I was very disappointed she denied it and said she's been cutting hair for 12 years and she wouldn't let me leave like that. She was rude, made it seem like she didn't believe me and wouldn't refund the the money for the highlights because she didn't see it before I died it again. Groupon refunded the rest. I go to Bridgette because she is the only one I trust to do my hair. I have long blonde hair, well naturally grey now but you would never know because Bridgette does such a great job of covering my grey.
