Assess AC for leaks, and also engine cooling system for leaks. Possible repairs following diagnoses. I suspect the assessent, altho expensive, was probably thorough and accurate. I balked at some add-on work this shop insisted be done against my preferences, so their work would be warrantied. They of course have the right to insist as they please. And then there was the price of said repairs. Take no prisoners. If your resources are unlimited, this could be the shop for you. Recently move to Englewood from nokomis and I needed to get my brakes done. I had a good mechanic in Sarasota that I like and use but I thought I would try someone local. Dropped my car off to get a price on doing the rear brakes and told them I was loosing water in the radiator. So they email me a price, glad I was sitting down when I read it. The price was more than double for the brakes from what my guy said it would be. He is certified mechanic and has his own shop. Then they also said I had a leak on the brake system, another $1800. Then they told me I needed a new water pump, thermostat and radiator. $1600 So there price was like $3200 to do all the work Brought the car to my guy. He fixed the brakes and tighten all the brake fluid lines up. That faze was $568 rather than $2400 Leak at the radiator was electric fan wasn't working that they didn't even notice. $468 to fix So there price $3200 my guy under a $1000 read more

Not Happy with the "Diagnosis" That I received on my 2002 Dodge Dakota back in June 2022 that cost $161.76. Their 3 line explanation of saying it has codes... duh, not rocket science. Then claiming exhaust problems....not. 3rd line a bunch of question ????? marks? Their diagnosis as is follows: [ heavy misfire on startup. ses lamp on. scan system= p0123 b1 s1 oxygen sensor. p0138 rear oxygen sensor. test drive vehicle. very low power and exhaust back out intake valve. back pressure test=fail. need to start with catalytic converter and reevaluate. may have burned a valve?? current codes for brand NEW O2 SENSORS???? FIX RUNNING ISSUE FIRST then o2 codes.] So what exactly is wrong with my vehichle? I still wondered and took it to Nicks in North Port. By the way thank you Kurt once again. to find out that the camshaft needed to be rebuilt. Cost of their diagnosis $0. Then after collecting my hard earned dollars proceeded to suggest that I get it fixed somewhere else because they don't have a welder and that they only cut and replace. I had a tread detachment blowout while driving on river road.....on a pair of Goodyear tires with only 25k miles on them....I called Xpertech for advise. Kathleen spoke with me.....the owner herself!....had me send pictures of the tires rim ,vehicle tag everything. Not only did they inform me that there were various recalls on Goodyear tires from back in 2016, they looked up my tire sizes and gave me a quotes on several different tire options....within minutes via email. In the end I decided to give them my business and go with the highest end tires they offered for safety and comfort. They completed all of the repairs. Very good suggestion on tires. I called for a oil change for an Audi and asked for a synthetic oil change which was advertised for $79.99. I was given a date, brought my car in, picked it up. I was charged $216.00. I was told it was a European oil change and that's what they charge. Guess what? I have owned Audi's for 20 years. My last oil change from an Audi dealership in NY was $107.00. The Audi in Sarasota charges $117.00 after tax. How can this shop overcharge by $100.00. They have lost my business. Not only misdiagnosed a major problem and were going to charge a huge number to replace something that didn't need replacing, they missed the main one and also were going to charge near twice the price (I later found out) for something else. Charged me $1000 bucks to not fix the problem. Then offered me a 10 percent discount on an additional charge of $500 to fix the real problem. Didnt offer to do anything about the part they replaced that was perfectly good. This was after they admitted their tech did not do his job when inspecting the vehicle. I had to pay $55 to find out what I already knew. I have mechanical knowledge. I think they take advantage of seniors. They wanted to charge me $301.94 for just the bearing parts. I can buy this online for $91. The bearing online is a delco factory original not a cheap reproduction. I know from having worked in a garage that garages get a discount on parts so where do you get $301 ? also $20 for shop supplies? what supplies? I called the garage I use in Saginaw which is a top rated shop and they said they would charge $268. xpertech said it would cost me $539.39 for the job.
