Churro with chocolate cup
Jose A.

Very good snack to have . The chocolate was hot so be careful. Get the 5 churros and chocolate cup for 5 Euros .

We were in town for a week and stayed at Hotel Acevi on the same street. The location is a small spot right on the corner that allows visitors to watch them make and stack all these sugary treats fresh in front of you. Visiting this spot was a highlight everyday, my mother felt she was a child again having hot and sweet churros on the go. They also had an assortment of fried potato chips, cookies, different size churros, and other pastries. If you are able to catch them right when they open you can see the whole process and get the freshest product. Even if you get the later batches that aren't as hot it's still delicious. We also tried these treats made with almond flour that were exquisite but my personal favorite were the stuffed churros. I got the one that was filled filled the white crema. The only word to describe this pastry is PARADISE. The thick luxurious cream paired with the soft sugary shell of the churro works better than cupids arrows. I was absolutely in love and still crave/think about it almost everyday after getting back to the States. If you are visiting Barcelona I HIGHLY recommend taking the time to visit this spot! The prices are extremely fair especially for the quality and traditional techniques witnessed. The older gentleman who run the operation are also super nice to everyone.

Im destined to spend a part of my life in Barça. Until then i will day dream abt this bakery. Stumbled upon it while sight seeing. My bestie was all like why we walking over there and then as soon as we had the first bite of the freshly made pork cracklings she was like ooo im so happy we stopped. On the next day of sight seeing, we both was like we are coming here again. We walked in circles for like 5 minutes until we found the treasure. We only had the soft and hard pork rinds and all the flavors of filled churros. Just know this place is the truth! Im actually trying to get someone to pick me up some as we speak. Hopefully they deliver! I need to go back like asap!

OH man I could not get enough of the Xurreria here in BCN. I was glad that this one was close by to the place I was staying and also the library. It would literally take me 9 mins from the Library to Xurreria Sans Roman and then back another 10 mins since it seemed like going up the hill. But anyways, the guy that works here is really friendly and spoke some English to me which helped me out. I really liked how they had many types of chips and churros. They have the pin wheel chips, Cheetos like chips, big huge chips. Their churros was also in different forms. Chocolate covered churro, sugar covered, some that tasted like licorice but not sure if it was churros. They also had some kind of donut filled cream. Which was not so bad. All in all I would come back everyday to pick up fresh churros from San Roman.

Great little sweet snack. Line moves quick. It's mostly tourists. I wish they were warm but seems near impossible given the number of folks trying to get these little guys!

MMM cream-filled churro! No pun intended! It was yummy!

I knew I was in the right place when I saw old ladies ordering churros and an older man making them with his bare hands. Mmm, screw the hygiene! Damn cream-filled (and chocolate-filled) churros are legit!

While we were in Barcelona rushing to make an appointment I noticed this shop out of the corner of…read moremy eye.. it looked so good that we decided to come back just to try some of their treats and boy they did not disappoint. We tried one of their chocolate desserts, a chocolate chip cookie and a matcha drink. All of them were great.. so great that I ended up buying a pistachio brookie to go. To this day we regret not buying more stuff to bring back home. The service was great and quick. The place was clean and cute to dine in with a few tables! Overall I'd definitely stop by if I'm in Barcelona again!

Had to try a gluten free bakery while in Barcelona of course (one of many). Chok is for chocolate…read morebut they didn't sell any actual chocolates... but there was a rotation of special flavored cinnamon rolls, rookies, brownies, mini cakes, cookies, and cheesecakes. There were a few loaves of bread but mostly there were those sweets and it seems they have those all the time. We got a regular cinnamon roll because the flavored ones didn't have as much of the frosting on it which is the best part, and a pistachio cream rookie... no im not sure what a rookie is but it looked like a Levain cookie (the famous one from NY) as it was a mountain of a dessert. We had both treats heated up... although they weren't actually hot lol. The cinnamon roll was on par with others I've had, maybe even slightly drier but the frosting was amazing and I still enjoyed it a lot. The rookie was quite decadent and the inside was an almost cake texture? Still quite tasty but I think both would've knocked it out of the park if they were actually hot and ooey gooey. Five stars because it wasn't bad but I can't say I'm super impressed. I will be going to other gf bakeries over this one

A fellow Yelper mentioned they have moved to Mercat de Sant Antoni and found out it has been 2…read moreyears. As the kind gentleman mentioned, La Boqueria was just too busy and this smaller market had a better pace for Pinotxo. They have a counter with 10 bar stools and open kitchen format with food displayed at the counter. I can see seating becoming a premium as the day progresses. I arrived shortly after they opened and already there were 3 customers ordering Cafe Con Leches and Xuxos. I did the same with my Xuxo to go. I saw they had Octopus Galician style and despite the am hour couldn't resist. Pinotxo's version was very good-that said, I've had more tender Octopus. Definitely a Tapa size and pricey for the portion but gave me my fix for one of my favorite dishes before leaving Barcelona. I saw Tripe and Beef cheeks on the menu and asked one of the servers which one? She gave me a look of "I can't decide"meaning can't go wrong with either. Ordered the Beef cheeks as I've never had it. Rich, decadent and definitely not a breakfast meal-I liked it! I was told the white cubes were collagen and not fat. Definitely a dish to try. Cafe Con Leche was excellent! The Xuxo (one of Jose Andres's favorites) was amazing! Like a donut, a little bit of flakiness of a croissant and filled with this rich, delicious Crema and as if that wasn't enough coated with sugar. We loved it! One of those delicacies that sells out early. Service was engaged and friendly from all of the people behind the counter. They are located inside the Market at one of the corners (Tamarit/Urgell) before the exit. Make this stop for Xuxos and some delicacies you won't find at your typical spots in the area.

They moved! They are now in Mercat de Sant Antoni. I looked all over La Rambla for them, only to…read morefind out they moved. Their space is much bigger and now indoors. Same great service and same outstanding food. We ordered the chickpeas, razor clams, pork cheeks, calamari and beans and octopus. Everything was fresh and delicious. Will definitely be back again.
