I would not recommend doing business here. My elderly mother was downsizing and I invited him out to her house to see furniture and appliances she had to sell. The appliances were hooked up although he choose not to inspect them throughly. He asked if they worked and I told him "as far as I know" He purchased a few items and ( unfortunately) paid by check. Next day he left a phone message saying to tear up the check, come get your stuff. He then put a stop payment on the check. When I went into his store he called the police. I would have liked payment but settled for returning the items. He wanted to charge delivery! In front of the police he agreed to return the items to her house giving me a 2 hour window. I waited 3 hours...he never showed up. He's kept the items and stopped payment. Not sure of my next step---huge hassle and I've been charged a bank fee! read more

New owner, so we thought we'd try it out. Needed a queen box spring, I called twice to make sure they had it. When we came in, the lady told us it was in storage. She made us follow her to her storage unit (even though I called twice and arranged a time...she should have just grabbed it...) we followed her there and she was smoking cigarettes the entire time. and when we got there she forgot her key. Then when we FINALLY got into the storage unit it was just a mattress. "Oh, sorry. I thought it was a box spring. My bad." Thanks for waisting our time. read more

"Y Pay More?" This place answers that question by providing terrible customer service, lying, and doing totally inadequate work. That's "Y". You need to know that this place is a total rip off. They lied to us, and were reluctant to help us even after they picked up our dryer. Jeremiah, the repair man, claimed that it was impossible to get a new part anywhere but reluctantly "repaired" it with a used part. When we got it back, it worked one time before breaking down even worse than before. We opened it up ourselves and were surprised to discover how straight-forward the problem actually was. We found that he'd jerry-rigged it with junk. We found the new part online for 6 dollars and after installing it ourselves, the dryer runs like new. So the run-down here is that we were lied to, dismissed and charged $80 for nothing but a lot of trouble. We mentioned this to the owner and he couldn't have cared less. read more

Our refrigerator went out, and as we are local and like to give business to the little guy, we went to Y Pay More. Well we now know why we should have paid more. The refrigerator we got was a nice one, with a 60 day warranty. Two days after we got it home it quit working. The owner came out to begin the diagnosis process, then had to call his service guy, then asked us to call his service guy, who blamed us for not being available for him, although the owner asked us to go home and wait for him, and we did so. So a week passed- no fridge. We finally get the service guy and he has to order a part. 7 days they tell us. Then in 7 days it's going to be another week, and so on. 5 weeks later the guy with the part finally shows up and says "I don't really know how to install this, since I didn't have the year of the fridge I couldn't look it up". I am thinking how did they get the right part if they don't have the particulars... anyway he "installed" the new part..... but it doesn't work properly. Everyone was polite, and nice that we dealt with, but I don't feel they actually stood behind their warranty, and the customer service was so sub-par as it relates to a working product. I had two other people tell me not to use the place. I really liked the fridge we found though. Lesson learned. If you don't like headaches or the run-around go somewhere else. read more

Great service and prices. They have everything from modern units to some really cool vintage and even antique pieces. the owner shows outstanding costumer relations and even offered to stay open an extra 2 hours when we got stuck in traffic on our way to pick up a paid for item. we just wish he had the rest of the pieces we need to complete our new kitchen. read more

When they tried to fix our dryer, they said the parts were no longer available and put in old parts from a used unit hey had. We were told it might last a year. Their fix lasted 2 days and the parts they put in fell out of the dryer. When we let them know what happened their coment was "your dryer's done" and they wanted to sell us another one. We found new parts on line (cost $6.00) that only required 20 minutes to install and the dryer has been working great ever since. They lied to us about the parts not being available and charged us for nothing. I definitely do not recommend them. read more

It is very difficult to find good used major appliances on the North Coast. I was able to find the refrigerator I was looking for with Ice & water in the door on line @ Y Pay More in Newport. The price was fair and the owner and delivery man were great. They delivered it to Nehalem the next day! The delivery man even put it up on a platform to try to keep it out of the next flood and they hauled off the old refrigerator. Everything works like it is supposed to on the refrigerator.
