Had dinner last night for the first time at the Sylvia Beach Hotel. We met four others and shared the table with another group of four. None of us were staying at the hotel! The restaurant has one dinner seating at 7pm. We had a reservation but only half the dining room was full on a rainy night in December. I knew we had ordered our entree in advance and figured out that other than drinks, there were no menus. It was really nice, actually, to not spend the first 10 minutes with heads in menus trying to decide what to order. We could just focus on visiting with our friends from out of town! We ordered wine and there was only one gal working the dining room so it took a while to get going. It was quite a long time before we got drinks. Once that was out of the way, however, the rest of the night was perfectly paced. They set a formal table and every piece of silverware got used! We started out with a sourdough bread and butter. Then an every so light and fluffy shrimp bisque that was creamy and delicious. Everything is served family-style so you pass bowls around but they usually brought two so you only had a wait a moment for the bowl to reach you. The dishes are nice too, china and crystal, it's very elegant. Next was a Greek salad with lots of Kalamata olives and feta cheese and slightly sweet dressing that was really good. The romaine lettuce was fresh and crisp. After salad, we were served the main course. Half of the table had ordered steaks, the other half the salmon cakes, and one got a vegetarian entree which was a mushroom souffle. The salmon cakes were pretty amazing. A light breading and flavorful fish with a strong garlic and dill cream. With the entree, there were steamed vegetables and really yummy scalloped potatoes. I like the family style because you can try many things without eating too much but if you have a big appetite, there's always more. Every dish was always cleared before the new round came out and it was very nicely paced. Our gal kept the water poured and made sure we had everything we needed. For dessert, she brought out regular coffee, decaf and hot tea. We had an incredible almond cake with a dollop of pink whipped cream on the side. It was so good! I thought I was too full for dessert but ate every bite. So did everyone else. Overall, a very lovely evening with great food. The dining room as much quieter than many restaurants, too, so we were able to talk to everyone at the table.

They text you when your room is ready, so you may be able to check-in earlier than the normal 4pm. Check out is at 11am, which was perfect for us. They offer a nice happy hour from 5-6pm. Two complimentary drinks with appetizers. There are various games available and plenty of sitting areas for a fully reserved boat. There are 5 rooms avaliable, all with views of the harbor and marina. Three rooms have king beds, and two rooms have queen beds. All rooms have their own bathrooms. The rooms offer many amenities...shampoo, conditioner, body wash, eye masks and ear plugs, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, keurig coffee maker, water with glasses, mini refrigerator, luggage rack, bathrobes, etc. We didn't want for anything during our stay. Brandon was super friendly, welcoming, attentive, helpful and accommodating. Paige made our breakfast and it was absolutely delicious! She was also friendly, welcoming and accommodating. We met Lexi when we arrived and she was also friendly and welcoming. Everyone was so nice and all the food and drinks were delicious! A nice variety of options to satisfy any guest. Overall we were super impressed. We're already trying to figure out when we can stay again! Highly recommend!

They've mastered the art of combining warmth and friendliness with professionalism and boundaries. I saved the best for last: breakfasts are culinary masterpieces! Savor them, enjoy them over delightful conversation and, as we did, ask for the recipes! Ken and Danni know food, so pay attention to their recommendations for local restaurants, too. We look forward to returning. Oh, by the way, do them a favor and book directly with them, not a third site.

Dani and Ken thrive in making other people comfortable and helping to make moments memorable. I can't thank them enough. Absolutely no notes. Everyone should stay here :)

Housed in a beautifully converted beach house in a charming small waterfront town in Oregon, each room is thoughtfully themed after a different author. Staying here feels like stepping into a story. The attention to detail is exceptional without ever feeling gimmicky & oh so cozy, intelligent, and genuinely inspiring. I stayed over Christmas Eve and Christmas with my dog, and the experience was exceptional. This place is truly dog-friendly in ways that actually matter -- personalized food and water bowls, a huge and incredibly comfortable pet cushion, treats, and bags provided for walks and clean-up. The surrounding downtown is also wonderfully walkable, with several nearby coffee shops happy to offer pup cups, which made mornings even better. The manager, Blake, and staff member Alex are outstanding -- kind, accommodating, and genuinely welcoming. They create an environment that encourages relaxed, thoughtful conversation among guests and staff alike, giving the hotel a warm, communal feel that's rare and memorable. We were very blown away with how nice the stay was and will be back in the future.

Our huge two person soaking tub was AMAZING. Bed was comfortable, staff were extremely friendly! The room was spacious and fun. Fire place was cozy! Just 80 steps down a staircase to the beach. Awesome ocean wave sounds all night. Has coffee, tea, and even a bag of microwave popcorn complimentary for guests. We would come back for sure! We got winter rates as we went in February. Fridays and weekends are more expensive just so you know! Pretty nice stay, I don't know that I would call it a resort. It is pretty much your basic Oregon coast hotel maybe just a tad nicer.
