Great little food cart in Troutdale Station. Great Lebanese or Mediterranean food. I had the lamb gyro and added feta cheese. The lamb was perfectly done, crispy on outside moist and tender on inside. A little more lettuce and tomato would have been good, adequate amount of onions. The tzatziki was excellent. Fairly fast service, a short wait but that's because the lamb was cooked fresh, not sitting waiting to be used. Troutdale Station has several local craft beers on tap, and a small coffee shop inside. It's the normal or average food cart ambiance, but is very safe and comfortable. No dogs except service animals permitted. read more

Fresh, to the point. It is located at the new Pod at Halsey, food truck pod. They were courteous with service and the food was filling and good for a food truck. The price was close to the restaurant level (maybe it is the economy). I'll try out more items if I'm in the area. read more

I gave this place chance and was sorely disappointed. The lamb gyro meat was tasty. The chicken shawarma was also overcooked, but the flavor was mid at best. The beef skewers were the most over cooked and poorly seasoned meat I've ever tried. I couldn't even fathom eating the meal after tasting it. Wouldn't recommend this plate to anyone. The food is good but the service and people preparing it are incredibly slow they don't have enough people to work and a food cart should be fairly quick but waiting a half an hour for rice, chicken kabobs, salad, bread and hummus is a little ridiculous. read more

Tons of mixed reviews here. After diligent reading I've discovered most of the low stars being thrown around are due to wait times, customer service and personal preference... We came early on Sunday with only a handful of people hanging around. First in line, our wait time was straight off 15 minutes. He was a young man, relatively friendly and told us the wait time immediately. It was no surprise but something to keep in mind. I imagine much longer on a busy summer day. So I'll just try to give you the facts that I gathered. We ordered your basic Lamb Gyro $8, Falafel $7 Sandwich and some Baklava $4. The Lamb Gyro easily could serve two people. I would guess almost a pound of meat was crammed in that Gyro. Here's where we go into personal preference. I like picking up my Gyro and eating it as a whole experience. This Gyro completely fell apart below the weight of meat. I was full after eating as much meat as I could to hold the sandwich together. By that time the bread had all but dissolved under toppings. More personal preference. I also like a bit more veg (in this case more than a sprinkling) in my Gyros. The tzatziki sauce was feta heavy (I love feta but I was missing the cucumber freshness love). Again, personal preference. The meat is fatty for lamb so it melts in your mouth. The flavor was fine, not as gamey as I typically like my lamb but it was good. The Falafel was pretty darn good. It was moist. That sandwich held together like a power house. If you're about quantity for value, Yaba is for you. There was a deceased bug glued to my baklava unfortunately. Looked like he'd been there for a while. I guess I wouldn't mind dying on sticky, delicious baklava. I'm not sure he'd agree. Poor buddy. read more

The older reviews describe an entirely different place to me. I was just at Yaba Yabaa about an hour ago. It was wonderful. I'm on this crazy Keto diet (which works by the way) and this cart caters to folks like me. I ordered the gyro and in place of the wrap I received a delightfully fresh Greek salad under the generous lamb pieces and it was ladled with tzatziki sauce. The entire meal with very enjoyable - warm well seasoned lamb topping a cool green salad with mouthwatering fresh vegetables, kalamata olives and cucumbers. I was in heaven. My wife ordered the same and she had hers in a wrap. She loved her version as well. We ordered the baklava (yes, not keto) and I just realized that so I'll be sharing my dessert with my wife instead. The service was friendly and accommodating. I was told 10 minutes and it was ten minutes. They were very professional and I'll wager they probably washed their hands before they made my food (despite other reviews that seem to come from peeping toms who seemed a little too convenient to mention something you can't really see until you're actually IN the cart - but we'll believe those people, won't we? This is easily of the best Mediterranean places in Happy Valley! Mediterranean restaurants in general are always pretty generous with their portions-- we usually share the skewer plate along with an extra skewer and a Greek salad and we're legitimately full. A thing I do look out for is how seasoned the meats can be. Some places really overdo it and then everything tastes like salt. Yaba Yabaa's meat is done just right-- it compliments the rice really well. Along with the plate you get a side of salad and hummus and pita. The salad is very underrated, since they use real green leafy lettuce and it's topped with olives, feta and a light vinaigrette. Unfortunately all you get is a little square of salad if you do the plate. That's why we always spring a little extra for a full serving of Greek salad on the side. The total price for what we get (for 2 people) is 18 bucks, which is a great value in my book. And as a side note: you are a keto/paleo dieter, then just get some skewers and the Greek salad and you're golden! The only reason why I'd give this 4 stars instead of 5 stars is that you'll sometimes have to wait upwards of 45 minutes to get your order. The weather is getting nicer and a lot of people are starting to catch onto this place so the staff is often backlogged. I RECOMMEND CALLING IN YOUR ORDER BEFORE YOU ARRIVE. Otherwise you may have to wait a long time to get your food. It's still worth the wait, but I'd rather not wait when I'm hungry. read more

Came in the late afternoon. Overall, not a fan and won't come back. I got the falafel which was made to order. From the texture and shape, they looked like pre made frozen pucks. They were hard, dry and had very little flavor. I asked for some salt, they didn't have any. The wrap part was ok, it was soft and fresh. The sauce pretty much had no flavor. The girl who took my order on a service scale I'd give a 3 to. No smile and I did not feel welcomed when I came up. The guy who cooked looked like a nice guy, probably the owner. I love coming to Happy Valley station. There are plenty of other carts to try or go back to that I enjoyed. read more

Pretty good! Very large portions. We got the lamb gyro and beef shawarma over rice. A lot of lamb in the gyro and vegetables were fresh. Well seasoned and not too salty. The pita was a little bready but good to balance out the massive amount of meat. Loved the beef shawarma, not too saucy and fantastic over rice. The portion is huge and definitely enough for two. It came with a small salad and hummus. Both were great flavored and light. Small salad had tomato, bell pepper, lettuce, cucumber, and kalamata olives. Will definitely be back again! Update-- been going to this cart frequently but in the last month, somethings have changed. The rice is different. Not long grain and no saffron. We've been really wanting to try this place but everytime we come by there's always a long line but not this past time so we finally got to try it. It was a huge disappointment. It took us 20+ minutes to get our lamb plate with no line... we don't mind waiting but the food was super disappointing. The lamb was over cooked, it was super dry. The salad it came with was mostly made up of onions. The rice was nothing special and the pita bread just seemed store brought so it was probably the best part of the meal. I've read past reviewes about this place and I don't know if the person cooking that day we went was just careless but we've never had lamb so dry. Why does this place not have 5 stars?! The best lamb gyro we have ever had - we got "The Master" and it was big enough for two so we split. What seemed to put this gyro over the top was the mix of sauces (both hummus and tzatziki) and the preparation of the lamb. Instead of the lamb being cut up into slices this was prepared into cubes so the outside was crunchy and the inside was chewy. In addition, this had their spiced yukon gold potatoes mixed inside. We can't wait to come back and bring friends! Worth the $9 and more. read more

Just nasty! Seriously, this place would be a five star if they knew basic rules of food preparation. But they either don't know or don't care. Probably the latter since they had to pass a test to get a license. I'm a health inspector from Washington State and realize now that there was probably a reason they weren't proudly displaying their inspection grade like other A+ trucks at the Station. I'm guessing this one scored a D for disgusting. I never once saw hands washed during the preparation of six meals. But those same hands that were collecting dollar bills and typing orders on tablet screens were soon sprinkling tomatoes onto gyros and onions into shawarma. So basically, we were served whatever came out of the previous customer's back pocket. They apparently believe that the purpose of latex gloves is to keep the tzatziki sauce off of their hands, rather than keeping their paws out of your food. They wore one glove on the hand holding the pita but barehanded everything going in it. At least you get free floss with your meal! Oh...never mind, that was a hair. Because they don't bother with hair nets either. But hey, this is authentic Lebanese food, I'm guessing, and this experience definitely channeled a Tripoli street market vendor. Throw in some sand and camel spit and you'd have the real deal. Don't worry about the possibility of food-borne pathogens! That's what stomach acid is for and if you didn't bring yours, then doom on you! Now where did I put that phone number for the health department? Final assessment--smells amazing, looks great, tastes okay, but keep your schedule flexible for the next 72 hours. You could be the lucky winner in the food poisoning lottery! read more

Nothing was disappointing. Both the lamb gyro ($8) and master gyro ($9) were pretty good. Definitely worth giving a try. The meat is nice and thick, but soft and easy to chew. The tzatziki is flavorful but a bit sour/bitter (presumably Greek yogurt based). Service was fast and friendly. read more
