We were looking for an activity that would be fun for a multigenerational group of 23 people with toddlers, seniors, and everyone in between. We had been in communication with Oliver for months in advance. About two weeks before the big day, we saw that the forecast called for showers throughout Memorial Day weekend, particularly the Sunday of our planned cruise. We monitored the weather and decided to make a decision closer to the day. Throughout the entire process of planning, Oliver was responsive, reliable, accommodating, and kind. On the morning of the trip, Oliver gave us multiple options and worked with us to make sure that we could cancel and get a full refund due to the inclement weather. He provided us with agency up to the last hour of decision making. On a day that could have been really stressful, Oliver alleviated some of that stress. My daughter and I had an absolute blast piloting the boat, and once we got over the fear factor that we were going "too fast" and gained confidence in piloting the boat for the first time, it felt like second nature. We did the 3 hour Mystic River tour which ended with a "free sail" hour at the end. However, we opted not to go out into the Sound due to heavily windy conditions, so we stayed in the channel in the "playground" area doing donuts and figure-eights. Before we knew it the 3 hours was up. Rob was a great host and he taught us how to pilot the boats in no time. He was also very knowledgeable of the Mystic seaport area. We had a great time and will absolutely be making this a regular part of our yearly Mystic trips!

The reviews were all highly praising and it looked like a fun experience. I have to say: don't hesitate! Book them! Rob was a pro guide and made sure we understood how to operate our boat safely and how to get the most fun out of it. Yes, there are safety things that you need to be aware of, but he was very encouraging of us trying out what the boat can do. We loved getting to do donuts in our boat! The tour itself was very informative, and we really got a feel for the area. We're already looking forward to returning for another season with a full group of friends to rent out all the boats. This is a must-do activity when visiting Mystic. Be sure to arrive on time as requested so that you can be briefed on the safety. That is so important, and that is why they tell you in advance that you will be turned away if you are late to the safety briefing. For those of you who may be wondering, there is ample parking, and it was about a 15-20 minute drive with traffic from downtown Mystic. That request was ignored. What made the situation worse was that instead of making a real effort to fix it, we were essentially asked whether we wanted to book another room if we were unhappy with the one we were given. That response was frustrating, dismissive, and completely missed the point of why we were there. We traveled all the way from California to spend time with family, and this poor handling negatively affected the entire experience, especially for our kids. For an event centered around being close to family, this was a simple and reasonable request that should have been handled much better. I would not recommend this property based on our experience

BEWARE - Terrible Experience…read more We had an awful experience with this RV and this company. Right from the start, water was pouring all over the floor from near the toilet and sink, and the door wouldn't close. We contacted Brook immediately. Kevin came by the next day (only because he was already in the area) and said his driver had hooked up the water wrong. He adjusted a hose and tightened a screw on the door--but neither fix worked. We emailed again and again, but the company was "too busy" to help and told us just to shut off the water. That meant for an entire week we had to choose between no water at all or water flooding the floor. On top of that, the door never closed properly, so we dealt with constant noise, cold temperatures, and swarms of mosquitos. We paid a huge amount of money to be comfortable while working 14-hour days at an event and got the exact opposite. After the event, we asked for a fair partial refund. Instead, Brook offered 15% off our "next stay" (they already give 10% off for writing a review, so this felt insulting). After pressing again, she offered half off one night only, which didn't even cover fees. To make it worse, she charged us for keys her driver lost. In the end, we received a pathetic $48 refund on a $1,400 bill. When I asked for a phone call, they ghosted me completely. I never write reviews, but if this prevents even one family from going through what we did, it's worth it. Avoid this company at all costs.

I would love to say I enjoyed this campground as a tent…read morerental site for the week, but man do the residents of the camp truly ruin the experience of the crystal clear lake. The week was quiet and nice until the seasonal/regulars came in Thursday night. Next thing you know, the gossip train starts and all the residents watch your every move and call the front office on you if you breath in a way that offends them. I'd understand if I was rowdy and partying, but my sister and I literally were crocheting! Making sweaters we would have an uncle and cousin visit during the day (after they paid their fee to get in) and they made my guests so uncomfortable with the passive aggressive comments The staff are condescending, an old potato of a woman with blonde hair who takes your money coming in gave my PAYING GUEST a hard time coming in and then had the audacity to charge her twice the daily rate! Normal fee is $8, she charged my friend $15. I heard about 14 passive aggressive comments about my happy doofy husky/pitt bull mix (WHO WE PAID TO HAVE HERE) getting judged and glared at just for existing. I would love to say this a cute community who look out for one another, but this group of people are like those vile religious folk who claim to be loving and kind while they shun and shame anyone who may be different or new. I do not recommend this campground AT ALL. Find a nicer place. The annoyance of residents tattling over the dumbest things truly ruins any relaxation you try to have.

Cons: -be prepared to walk, very hilly -Wi-fi only available at office/rec area. -playground has 4 swings and a volleyball net. -very limited area to fish. -seasonal campers very willing to ensure weekend camper is following "their" rules, not so much following the rules themselves (as evident by the unleased dogs that keep comming to my site).

There is a septic service that comes every 2 weeks. We genuinely loved our stay with our beloved dog. Neighbors were quiet and friendly. There is a beautiful beach with gorgeous views of the lake. Our host also owns the AirBnb on the same lot which looks amazing!
