He recommended TSFSC and said it was a more authentic sailing experience, which is what I wanted. I met the crew at 1 PM, they took us to the boat and gave us a quick tutorial. The package offers 2 beers, which was a nice touch. The crew did a great job at allowing the experience to be very relaxing. I will come back!

But, once we boarded everything was smooth sailing - mostly haha. The take off and docking were a bit choppy, but other than that it was a smooth ride. The route and duration were great! We are all from the area but have skipped the touristy things. Well we sufficiently got a taste of everything on this cruise. It was properly 2 hours - passed Golden Gate Bridge, bay bridge, Alcatraz, and Oracle Park which was cool to see from the water side. While there was no sunset, we did get good weather and clear enough skies. The one and only thing we would change is the narration - it was awful, awkward, not super informative, and could use major improvements. The staff was fantastic and made for a smooth onboarding. Overall, great cruise around the bay and for a super reasonable price for a 2 hour cruise!

Friday night we did some basic's in the harbour and then a quick sail out of the Marina. Saturday we spent the day sailing from Berkeley Marina, across the bay to a Marina in downtown San Francisco, stopping for lunch and then heading back. Sunday we sailed more as well as learning safety procedures. There was only one other student, which was perfect as we each took turns steering the tiller or controlling the jib (front sail), working together as a team with Ilya coaching us. I learned more in 3 days with Anchor's Up than several years sailing with friends in NZ! I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to learn to sail. Once you have completed the course you can cheaply rent yachts to go out on your own!

Fortunately their deckhand Quinn was there to help us through the whole ordeal and went above and beyond.
