I cannot say enough about the experience I had on the "San Francisco Bay Sunset Cruise by Luxury Catamaran" this past Sunday. During a solo getaway last weekend, on a whim and after much research, I landed on this option a day prior, after. I must say, this nailed everything I was seeking. First, let's start with the woman in their office (wish I got her name) who was the sweetest. I called panicked that I may be running late/not at the dock before the 6:30pm cruise (as I got the start time mixed up with another provider I was looking at). She instantly put me at ease, assuring me I'd be fine. When I arrived at Pier 39, not knowing to head towards the DOCK on the LEFT (vs. through the main thoroughfare mobbed with crowds), I panicked again and called once more...but hung up as soon as I spotted the door to the dock. Later, found out later this wonderful woman had called back/left me a voicemail just from seeing the missed call, to make sure I was ok! It's customer service like this that really enhances the experience. Same as the crew on board - there I was, out of breath and barely making it on by 6:30pm, greeted by Lisa..just her vibe instantly shifted me into a more relaxed mode. The cruise is quite punctual; we departed very close to 6:30pm...but she never made me feel worse than I was upon arrival. It didn't stop there - on the boat was Michael at the helm, and Devon who was just a delight. For someone who deals with tourists/customers every day, you can still feel genuine joy exude out of him. Both he and Lisa were SO accommodating to the guests - offering to take photos, helping with snacks/drinks in the galley (1 drink comes free with cost of ticket, and there are actual decent choices! And low prices for anything additional you want to consume). Towards the end, he greeted each and every one of us with a basket of assorted chocolates. How can you not smile? The cruise itself was...perfect. Comfortable number of guests allowed all of us to move around at take photos at every angle at leisure. The route and time of cruise was fantastic (in 6 years living in SF I've never seen the Golden Gate Bridge THIS up close; it took my breath away). Seriously, SO many incredible photo ops, especially on a clear day like this last Sunday. Unanticipated chill from the winds and splashing water were helped by jackets for everyone to borrow as needed. Still too chilly? If you decide to take a load off inside, there is plenty of seating by their small bar/eating area, which I found surprisingly relaxing. Again I'm SO so pleased I chose Adventure Cat. I noticed it may be slightly more than other competitors (I paid $99) but rest assured, WELL worth it for the catamaran experience, and one that's not too crowded. But again kudos to the customer service; I really was quite impressed and hope the entire crew sees this, because you helped make this such an unforgettable experience for me. read more

I had a wonderful time sailing with them. Friendly and competent staff. They also take great pictures. I signed up for the bay cruise. Our boat (50+ feet Catamaran) sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge and went by Alcatraz island. This is better than riding a ferry boat. This is my second time riding with Adventure Cat. You need to check in around 30 minutes before launch. Give your self enough time, to get there. It took a litter longer than I thought, since it is located near the end of the crowded pier 39. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about this company!!! We rented the Adventure Cat 2 for my 30th birthday and it was amazing! We have 33 people and it was plenty of space. The communication prior made me feel so confident in knowing what to expect, cost, location, etc. Charlie quickly answered any questions or concerns I had. It's reasonably priced for a private sailboat. We did 2hrs at sunset on a Saturday night. For our large group it was PERFECT. The crew was also nothing short of fabulous. Freddie was sooo helpful and a great photographer!! We were laughing the whole time. He even let some of our friends help with the sail. Our captain Hans, was so kind and really made our trip special. Overall this was a bucket list item to do in the bay. AMAZING! We were going to try one of the brunch sails. Glad we decided on Adventure Cat Sailing. While we didn't get a buffet of food, what we did get was even better! We got a much more personalized (less expensive) experience with about 20 people on a large catamaran. Reasonably priced drinks and snacks are available for purchase. The captain even let me steer the boat (for a minute). Our group loved being able to have free range of the entire boat without having to deal with crowds of people lining up for the buffet or waiting to get drinks. Unbelievable experience! My company paid for my whole team (about 20 of us) to sail the bay on the Adventure Cat Boat. The sailing crew was a lot of fun. The two guys made us feel so at home, were a lot of fun and served up drinks and catered food during our sail. It was a clear day, so we The food was catered by Le Mediterranean, which is a GREAT restaurant and has been around since 1979. The food is fresh, light and can be served hot or cold - so it was perfect for a boat trip. We got chicken skewers, Beef Kafta Meatball Skewers, Rice Pilaf, Dolmas, hummus, pitas, falafels. It was a pretty good package for lunch for our group and we all loved it. We had a beer, wine and juice/sodas/water package which included a lot of different options of good local beers, cans of sparkling champagne, seltzers and non-alcoholic options. This was all included in our package and unlimited. The tour was amazing and our group loved it. We even got to see a gray whale in the ocean near the Golden Gate Bridge. it was a trip to remember! read more

I'm a big boat person (as in, I have no idea how to sail/drive a large boat but I love chartering one with friends or coworkers). I've used several companies or private owned charters in the Bay Area and Adventure Cat is by far my favorite so far. We booked them in June for a private charter. *THE BOAT* It's big! We had a group of 40 and there was more than enough room to spread out on the nets, sit on the hull, or inside away from the wind. There is also a bathroom on board, as well as beer/wine/seltzers for purchase. We brought a few bottles of our own wine on board. They take cards on board and they also have Spotify/streaming music so we could bump our own playlist. That definitely leveled up the vibe. Also, SF can have choppy windy waters but a catamaran is actually more stable than other sail boats. *THE CREW* The two guys on our charter were cool AF. They were fun, friendly, sociable, and made the nervous attendees feel safe and comfortable. They took great care of us and even let us help out a little here and there with the sails (which a lot of us found really cool). I've been on other boats where the crew are super strict but I appreciate the "safety first, fun second" type attitude they had. They also knew some really amazing spots to take the boat where it was warm and and calm waters and they got the best angles for some amazing photos of all of us near the Golden Gate bridge. These guys definitely knew what they were doing. *THE FOOD* There are several catering options they provide or you can bring on your own food, but honestly it's just easier to get food through the charter so you don't have to worry about anything and can just step on board and enjoy the trip. *THE COST* This particular trip was company-paid, but even if I was paying out of pocket I think it's definitely priced well. We looked into other charters that don't offer as much as Adventure Cat and for the price+food+drinks+convenience of it all (they really took care of everything), it was totally worth it. *OVERALL* Would give 6 stars if I could and definitely recommend booking them. To be honest, I'm worried they might get too popular and be hard to book for my next trip :P or they're just going to need to get more boats! read more

The sunset cruise was a lot of fun! Adventure Cat is a little more expensive than some of the other options but I thought it was worth it. Being out on the deck on the open water with the wind blowing was a much better experience than being inside of a stinky boat. My daughter and enjoyed the 7 pm sail on Tuesday night, June 25. It was absolutely delightful. We had a blast talking to the crew and they were all incredibly friendly. They went out of their way to cater to everyone including allowing us to steer (under their watchful eye) while they took pictures of us. We got some great shots of a coast guard helicopter hovering over a coast guard boat while dropping a basket down. We sailed quite near Alcatraz and got some great pictures of that. Although the fog obstructed our sunset, the ride was amazing. It was fun and exciting. The crew was fun, friendly and interactive. They had extra warm coats onboard for their customers that may not have prepared for the cold winds. The Catamaran was well maintained and we got to help hoist the main sale. There is comfort on the inside and adventure on the out. lots of great photos from the Catamaran as well. they let my wife steer the vessel. See photos. Everyone needs to do this! As a Bay Area native i know we often take for granted the touristy parts of living here, but isn't that part of the reason we love living here. Damn sure isn't the prices..anyway I digress. I saw this on IG and immediately had to do it. The captains Brian and Steve (sir I'm so sorry if your name isn't Steve) they were great host! The check on system was great, the way they slow down at certain points to allow you to get in some great pics, it's an amazing experience. I went with friends but honestly this is an activity you can do alone. My only suggestions is if you do this bring gloves or some kind of hand warmer. Do NOT wear a hat, a beanie is fine but no hat. Bring a jacket too, yes wherever you're coming from might be in the 90s but it's SF and the sun disappeared while we were going out, it gets COLD! Boating the bay, seeing Alcatraz and viewing the golden gate bridge from the bay level really gives a fresh point of view that is breathtaking. Staff is always friendly....and funny. Incredible crew and experience! I recommend dressing warmer than you think because it gets quite chilly on the boat. My friends and I had a group of 12 and enjoyed our time. The boat gets very crowded so don't expect much privacy but you will see incredible views of the bridge, alcotraz, and the gorgeous water! They provide nice coats you can borrow to help combat the wind and they also have a nice bar on board to get beverages and snacks. It's the perfect 90 minute tour for SF visitors! read more

I already went on cruises around the bay. I went with my father to fish and I went with alumni group. My life didn't start today with this annual trip to cruise from pier 39. I was happy to see the seals today at the pier. You get one free soda can. They passed out chocolates. There's bags of chips for $3. You will feel hungry. I thought the catamaran net would be fun but it's cold and they weren't using the net. It would splash or be cold and wet. I sat on the comfortable padded seats. You can go outdoor and stay indoor. There's two bathrooms down the steps. I thought about hot dogs. There is one guy controlling the sailboat from the chair. The boat attendant offered to take photos near the captain's chair. it was nice of him and it was nice to try a new charter boat company. Easy sign up and check in. There were other people on the boat trip. It's casual. About 3 people. The weather was nice in late March. San Francisco offers boat trips and it's a local pastime. You can see the catamaran net but the others weren't using it today. 90 minutes. read more

Go! Go GO! You won't regret it! The crew are awesome! Super chill, but definitely follow the rules. They don't bore you with the normal sight seeing gibberish but they play good music and will gladly answer any question they can. Word of advice: DON'T stand at the front corners. You WILL get wet possibly soaked. It happened to me lol. I didn't care and enjoyed every second of our sailing experience. Bring a jacket and dress warm. They do have jackets that you can borrow just in case. They also have a bar inside the boat and seating in case it's too much for you on deck. Make sure you tip the guys. What a fun experience in the SF bay! We boarded the catamaran and quickly took off towards the Golden Gate Bridge. On the way, it was a really fast ride, and there were a few times when some of us got a little splashed. The crew will tell you which areas are more prone to that. On the way back, it was much slower and more enjoyable. We went around Alcatraz, snapped some pictures, and enjoyed some music surrounded by some lovely people. This was our second time sailing with Adventure Cat. It was way more fun on this private charter, while the earlier experience on a regular sail was awesome too. Charlie was great to work with on scheduling and organizing our event. Mike was an awesome captain and Brian was a great host. The wind was strong but Mike and Brian knew exactly what to do to get the right amount of fun and trill along with calm sailing. The route was awesome with wonderful views of the golden gate & bay bridge, Alcatraz, Angel island, Tiburon and of course the most beautiful sights of San Francisco. The crew was very thoughtful. For example, they had oversize jackets on the boat, which were super comfortable. When the wind picked up, the jackets were put to great use. For the private charter, we catered from Kasa Indian Eatery and it was the perfect combination with Adventure Cat's setup. Overall an experience to remember for a lifetime. read more
