This time it was hosted on the SF Giants' 100-foot yacht, the California Spirit, where cocktails and local cuisine were served with live music aboard while cruising the San Francisco Bay. The concept was great, but, unfortunately, the experience was not. I'm prone to motion sickness, so made sure to take a Dramamine AND wear a patch, but neither of those saved me from the severe nausea. While I cannot blame the California Spirit for the San Francisco Bay's choppy waters, I can't help but mention that I saw only one restroom available for guests on the entire yacht. Have they not ever anticipated the need for more than one bathroom...in case multiple people get sick? The whole space, in classic décor, did appear clean, inside and out, though. Service was also friendly. The food, on the other hand, was meh, nothing to rave about. I was a bit disappointed, honestly. After welcoming guests with a few passed hors d'oeuvres, a buffet dinner was served which consisted of the below listed: MASHED POTATOES - Not good! Everyone noticed that these tasted like they were made from a box of instant flakes with added small chunks of potatoes. MIXED GREENS SALAD - This was an interesting mixture of fresh greens that was loaded with a medley of fruit, roasted butternut squash, and candied pecans. I would have tried it, but the cheddar cheese kept me away. HARICOTS VERTS - Not bad. MAPLE ROASTED CARROTS - Ok. ROASTED TRI-TIP - Too fatty for me to try a single piece. WHOLE HERB ROASTED CHICKEN - The first batches served were mainly of dark meat which I did not like. Joanna graciously traded her white meat pieces for my dark meat which made up most of my meal. The chicken was fairly moist and tasty. The acoustic band's choice of music was not appealing to me, either. Think songs from John Denver, Jim Croce, and Cat Stevens. As I sat in the boat, trying to win the battle against nausea, I wondered if my condition would improve if the music stopped or if it was helping to distract me from wanting to vomit. The highlights of the boat ride were cruising closely to Alcatraz, seeing some cool views of the Bay Bridge...and deboarding!

Very inconsiderate and misleading. But thanks for the music and funread more

The Golden Gate was 1 hour, and the Bridge to Bridge was 1.5 hours. The Bridge to Bridge has few times, so check their website to find one that works for your schedule. On the boat, there is a bar, popcorn, and snacks you can buy. There is a bathroom, although I didn't use it. There are several floors and the lowest floor with the bar has tables. As you enter, if you need the narration in another language, get the headset. By default, over the loudspeaker is English. The first boat trip I did was more crowded on the top deck with more people talking loudly, so I missed about 1/4th of the narration. The volume was never too loud or painful, but with people talking loudly, you will miss it unless you move closer to the speaker. Biggest tips: Wear a jacket and dress warmly if you plan to sit on the top, open air deck. It is extremely windy. Also, having a hair tie is helpful, so you don't have hair blowing in your face. It can be pretty smooth but by the Bay Bridge, the wind makes the water rougher, so you may want to take a motion sickness medicine if you are sensitive. Staff was friendly from the ticket booth to the people at the end telling your goodbye. Nice boat tour!

Anyone, I mean anyone can do this and have the time of your life. They're so many beautiful views from the bay looking at San Francisco and across the way; Treasure Island and even further- Oakland. The dining area was up one floor. There were plenty of room on the floor for everyone to dance. A live DJ and bar. Besides our office party, there was a birthday and anniversary party. A few others were on dates. The boat pushed off the dock slowly and was speeding along the water. We circled the entire bay passing all the landmarks, seeing the sunset over the Golden Gate Bridge, passing Tiburon where the San Rafael bridge and Belvedere Island can be seen. I've never gone out that far. Boat wasn't too rocky. It was enough for people in heels to move around the boat and catch the scenery. It was great seeing the city lights and the Bay Bridge lightshow. It's been a decade since the lights on the Bay Bridge were off. Food was well made and delicious. I ordered the dumplings for appetizer, steak and toffee crunch chocolate cake. I couldn't finish my cake. It was so rich. Riding on the boat is well worth the experience if you haven't done so. It's a getaway from city and work life. Hats off to the crew, DJ and celebrity chef.

It is a little rocky on the water and my mother in law was getting a bit seasick on the return ride home. But as someone who's not really affected by seasickness I thought the ride was okay, maybe a tiny bit choppy at times.

My son and I made a day trip to Alcatraz island and it was a very enjoyable experience. I do agree…read morethat it's a little pricey but if you spend a solid 2-3+ hours there, I think it's worth it. Pros: + The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. + Once you get on the island and go through the 5 minute orientation from the NPS ranger, you're free to roam about. + The audio-guided tour is actually REALLY good. It was my first time and I thought it would be cheesy but it was engrossing and informative. + Restrooms were very clean and not crowded (at least not the guy's restroom). + There are some truly AMAZING views of the bay. Bring a travel-safe camera. Neutral: ~ There's restrictions on food and drink (only bottled water is allowed in the majority of the park). So plan ahead. ~ San Francisco traffic is real and kinda sucks. Plan ahead for delays. ~ A good portion of the park is outdoors (which isn't a negative but means that it's impacted by the weather). It gets super windy so plan ahead and dress appropriately. Cons: - The price is indeed a little high. I don't think I'd go here all the time. Once every couple years is probably fine. - A friend told me that there's a LOT of bird poop around and they were right. It's not enough to impact walking but does detract from the experience slightly.

Poor Service Experience with Alcatraz City Cruises…read more I'm writing this review to share my experience with the company's customer service, specifically around their cancellation policy. We were excited to book a trip through Alcatraz City Cruises on 6/16/26. Unfortunately, a family emergency forced me to cancel our trip to San Francisco, including this tour. I cancelled through the confirmation link in my email on 6/19 -- well within the 72-hour window required for a full refund, since the event itself wasn't until 6/26. The website showed my reservation as cancelled, so I stepped away to deal with the family emergency. In my rush, I never went back to check for a separate cancellation confirmation email, since the site had already shown the cancellation as complete. That was my mistake -- but it led to a frustrating outcome: I was charged for the tickets on the day of the event anyway. I didn't catch the charge until I reviewed my bank statement at the start of the following month. I called four times and couldn't reach a live person. When I finally got through to a representative, my request for a refund was denied. I asked again for the decision to be reviewed, but the agent refused, saying they would not look into it further. I understand that not confirming the cancellation via email was an oversight on my part. But the website clearly showed the reservation as cancelled, and we never used the tickets. Given that the cancellation was initiated well within the refund window, I would have expected more flexibility from customer service -- not an automatic denial. Dissapointed in this company and would not book through them again. Unfortantely, they did come up as one of the recommended companies to book through due to other scams and fake sites, but beware
