I appreciated the tiny free samples. The Blueberry Moonshine is quite nice. Oddly all of them had a sort of moonshine bite to them, like they were 150 proof, but they are not, they are 80 proof, but would make you shudder and stamp a foot if you did a full sized shot. It gets a 3 because the price seemed high at 35 bucks. That seems like a tourist botique type price, this place is out there near abandoned orange fields. read more

Two things I have never done.... tried moonshine right off the still and dipped my finger in berry mash to taste it! And I got to do both thanks to our guide! He had never seen the Florida Distillery trail passports and I think he was immediately impressed and realized we would know what we liked. The sip of the still not only was warm from the still, but had this warm mouth feel that stayed with you- like your mouth got the best hug! That's my best shot at describing it, because I'll probably never get to do that again. It was so good I declined the straight moonshine that was bottled- the distiller said it would be harsher compared to the sip we tried. Nope, let me sit in this warm hug longer. lol. Blueberry moonshine was up next and is their top seller- for good reason, the blueberry fields are right out the back door and you can go pick em yourself! Farm fresh shine right here! We bought the blueberry- it was that good. I also loved the cranberry moonshine and imagined it in my homemade hot apple cider for the holidays. The rum also wowed us- so much so, we bought that bottle too. A hint of sweet- they use white and dark sugars and it's a wonderful blend. The lineup also included a brandy, watermelon moonshine, apple moonshine, peach moonshine and southern pecan moonshine. I skipped the apple smack and souther pecan- because that's not my taste, but John enjoyed all of them! They also have quite the little store there and on Saturdays they have live music and food trucks! I'm sure, a great party! This one wasn't too far from my daughter's house and I am thinking- we need to get them there to try them out too! I am so glad we stopped and explored this beautiful family owned and operated establishment. We brought home homemade apple and blueberry pies and hands down it tasted like it came right from my grandmothers kitchen. Hot and super fresh. We did try a few moonshines and settled with bringing home the blueberry moonshine. The Aunt of the establishment makes beautiful mugs ! you will have to go to actually see there beauty. The box she placed them in was soaking wet when we got home and we could not understand why the cardboard was soggy until we cut into the pie! On a lovely Sunday morning, my son and I decided to take a quick road trip out to a local distillery. The shop itself is by no means huge. In fact, it seems about the size of a gift shop just outside any ride at a theme park. However, the variety of stuff was pretty great. Freshly jarred pickles, homemade bbq sauce, all types of jams and jellies. But the main attraction is the moonshine. There are all sorts of flavors and free samples available. I did not partake in a sample due to stomach issues that day, but I did swipe up a bottle of locally procured moonshine for $35. A nice addition to their selection was one of "flavor enhancers" they offered. Such as a lemonade with raspberry and lime that will go well with their moonshine (watermelon or original flavor). There are others available as well. No gift shop is complete without a tee shirt available featuring the alluring Yalaha Bootlegger Gal. Unfortunately, they didn't have our size available. Plus! If you check in on Yelp while the cashier rings you up; they off $2 off your purchase. It's a win/win. I had read that fresh blueberries were available- but none while we were visiting. I assume they're out of season. All the more reason to visit again sometime later. read more

Love this place!! Being in the know of moonshine, I was very intrigued by this place. Their base mash is made with organic blueberries grown on site( there is blueberry picking in season) . It makes their flavored shines very smooth and easy to drink, even their high proof clear. Everything is done on site and right in the tasting room is the still. Plenty of mash buckets going and there's a small barrel room for aging. Free tastings and a buy five get one deal. A little pricey but we'll worth it!! Small batch shine is generally more costly but that's what makes it unique over the mass produced distillery. read more

I was happy to be able to find a u-pick blueberry farm, and not pay $5 or more for 6 ounces of organic berries at the store. However, I will caution you to go early in the day, as I went on a Saturday about 2:30pm, and it was so picked over, it took two people to pick a tad over 2 pounds in ONE HOUR. Some rows were zero berries half way down an aisle, and some bushes had only 2 or 3 ripe berries total, and no large berries to speak of at all. The spaces between bushes were serious weeds, and being an avid gardener, I couldn't help thinking about all the soil nutrients they were sucking up. I know you can't use weed killer, but what about just pulling them out? Anyway, it took all the 2lbs of berries I picked to make one deep dish pie, and in the end, I was very happy with that! The berries were $5lb. This is not located near my home, and I went because I was in Leesburg, 15 minutes away. They had moonshine too, live entertainment, and I saw a bag of clams that were $14 that I wanted to buy when I was done picking, and forgot! I first have to admit, I had no idea this place even existed up until the day I went, and I have lived in Florida my entire life. Shame on me. I was attending a conference just down the road at Mission Inn, and pulled up the Yelp app to see what was around. I had heard of the bakery, but a moonshine distillery? Sure enough, just down the road, there it was. A little shop with several varieties of moonshine, all made right there on sight. Being a novice, I wasn't sure what I would like. No problem there, they have free samples of everything they offer. I was shocked at how well I liked straight moonshine, but with it being so fresh, it makes sense. Flavors like blueberry and pecan abounded, so there are great choices. If you can ever find your way to this end of town, this is a must stop. read more

Wow what a hidden gem ! Went for lunch at the bakery next door, walked over to Blue Bayou and was surprised to find such a cool place. Very cracker, they sell Amish food and stuff. Check out the pics of the blueberry pie we bought. They have a huge blueberry field right behind that is U-Pick during blueberry season. Plus I was able to pick up a grape Nehi here which I haven't had in 20+ years. What a great place ! read more

Went for the first time last year and definitely coming back! They have a lot to offer besides organic Blueberries. I suggest arriving soon after they open. Sometimes, if its slow any U-pick farm might close early. And it never hurts to call ahead just to be on the safe side. If you get hungry after picking fruit, they have a shop where you can buy freshly made pie pops, whole pies, shakes, and other snacks. If you want to do some grocery shopping, they have a variety of locally grown produce, farm fresh eggs, and Amish dairy products in their store. It helps to bring a cardboard box to keep everything secure on the way home. Learned that the hard way. They are also within walking distance to Yalaha Bakery which provides homemade bread, desserts, and meats. It's well worth the travel time since you can easily spend half a day between both places. read more

Wish I could give 6 stars. Their moonshine is the best liquor I've had in my life. Smooth, easy to drink straight or in a mixed drink. I have always received amazing customer service from the staff and can tell it's a great honest family owned business. Also their blueberry pies are the best too. Every couple months I drive out (about an hour and a half from my home) to get the best damn moonshine in the United States. Tip- Blueberry Moonshine with strawberry lemonade. read more

Don't waste your time. My wife and I drove 35-40 minutes to get here to taste the moonshine and take a bottle home with us to Virginia. We made two passes around the "store" waiting for someone to help, but the two staff members were too busy gabbing with two others patrons to even acknowledge us. Great little place to stop by! The shine and brandy were excellent (although I've only tried moonshine a few times). The wife could even tolerate the mix shines. Friendly service. The pies in the store looked amazing. We bought the straight moonshine along some some delicious jams we tried. Prices were fair.
