I also tried the falafel salad, and the falafels were delicious and juicy, with an amazing dressing and feta that brought everything together. What I especially loved was how I felt afterward. Everything tasted fresh and nourishing, and I walked away feeling energized rather than sluggish or weighed down like you can after eating at so many places. It was just a refreshing, guilt-free, feel-good meal. They have a really great menu with so many things I'd still like to try. We started with a cauliflower kaarage which came with three different sauces, my favorite being the sweet and spicy one in the middle. This app came out piping hot and was a nice veggie alternative to chicken kaarage. I would suggest maybe a smaller portion of the sauces, as a lot of ours went to waste. For our mains, we ordered 3 shabus - Hubby got an 8oz American Wagyu, daughter 1 ordered a 6oz ribeye, and daughter 2 shared a 10 ounce American wagyu with me, and we ordered an extra bowl of noodles. We all selected the tonkatsu broth. This time, the food came out a lot faster, shortly after we were done with our appetizer. We were excited to get cooking! My opinion is the same as before. This is a solid place with delicious food. The broth was on the salty side, but I think it needs to be as you are essentially seasoning your food when you cook it in the broth. It was nice to have sauce options for dipping, but I didn't use any of them personally. The American Wagyu was excellent , so tender, and again the tonkatsu broth flavorful. I didn't want to overpower the wagyu's already amazing flavor with a sauce. The price is a bit on the higher side for Shabu, but it is located at a resort which is to be expected. And I love that they offer premium meats, of course at a premium, because this definitely elevates the Shabu experience. To be completely transparent, I didn't do any of the ordering here (shoutout to Michael) so I don't know exactly what we had, but I was very impressed with the sushi despite what you would think based on the location. I'm not sure where they're sourcing their fatty tuna from, but each bite was a fluffy delicacy. $16 for 5 gyoza is wild, but I won't hold that against them in these trying times of gyoza-flation. I will say you're better off just ordering more sushi. I was very impressed by the ability and willingness of Oishi to sit and reasonably entertain a group of 14 ravenous adventurers. Our fellow diners were not ready for the volume to be cranked up to a different decibel once the sake bombs came out, though. Relative to other mountain town dining, Oishi deserves 5 stars. The sandwiches were delicious and the fries were decent as well. We chose the Find Me Dippin In Da Club and When I Dip, You Dip, We Dip. In Da Club was the superior sandwich in my opinion although I think my husband would disagree. I enjoyed the sandwich without the dip more than with the dip, but it was delicious either way. 10/10 would recommend.
