The broth flavorful, the eggs were jammy, the wagyu steak was a nice medium and kimchi was crunchy and spicy. We also got the hot pot with miso broth and shrimp. Quick update on our second visit. We are back in Park City after three years and returning to Kuchu Shabu was at the top of our list. This time we knew it would be busy on the weekend during ski season, so we checked in about an hour before we anticipated having dinner. At that point, it was about a 45 minute wait. We were texted quicker than expected. About 30 minutes later, so we had to rush right back since we are running a quick errand during the wait. Our server was not super personable, but he was nice and attentive enough and got the job done. And the other staff that assisted were very pleasant. We started with a cauliflower kaarage which came with three different sauces, my favorite being the sweet and spicy one in the middle. This app came out piping hot and was a nice veggie alternative to chicken kaarage. I would suggest maybe a smaller portion of the sauces, as a lot of ours went to waste. For our mains, we ordered 3 shabus - Hubby got an 8oz American Wagyu, daughter 1 ordered a 6oz ribeye, and daughter 2 shared a 10 ounce American wagyu with me, and we ordered an extra bowl of noodles. We all selected the tonkatsu broth. This time, the food came out a lot faster, shortly after we were done with our appetizer. We were excited to get cooking! My opinion is the same as before. This is a solid place with delicious food. The broth was on the salty side, but I think it needs to be as you are essentially seasoning your food when you cook it in the broth. It was nice to have sauce options for dipping, but I didn't use any of them personally. The American Wagyu was excellent , so tender, and again the tonkatsu broth flavorful. I didn't want to overpower the wagyu's already amazing flavor with a sauce. The price is a bit on the higher side for Shabu, but it is located at a resort which is to be expected. And I love that they offer premium meats, of course at a premium, because this definitely elevates the Shabu experience. We really enjoyed our lunch here after a disappointing day on the slopes - in fact, it was the highlight of our day! We started with a mule which was great. The had the spicy edamame and the gyoza - both were great. The edamame wasn't spicy at all but had a delicious sauce on them. My husband and I both had ramen and it was also to die for. We've ordered the ramen, pho, and other specials when we've gone here previously. All were really good. This most recent time, we decided to try the shabu. We got ample vegetables along with the protein. I had elk for the first time and I really enjoyed it! The drink options are really good too. They have a decent sake and beer list. Looked for nearby places to eat and this place popped up. There were 4 of us so we ordered 3 ten oz portions of meat and got 3 broths. There was more than enough food for us. We ordered the rib eye, American wagyu and pork. Got the traditional and tonkatsu broth. The traditional broth didn't have much flavor so we scooped some tonkatsu broth in it which made it taste much better. Also added chili oil to it. As you cooked the meats and veggies in it both broths became more flavorful. It's super warm in the restaurant with most people ordering their own broth. Prices are high with all their bowls, pho and ramen being almost $30 each and the shabu potentially costing a lot more pp if you order expensive meats. My sister and I went around 7:30 on a Thursday night and were the only ones in the restaurant. The restaurant is bright and clean, and has plenty of seating. The artwork is unique and the carvings in the tables are beautiful. We ordered the chicken karaage for an appetizer. I liked that it was lightly breaded and came with different dipping sauces. My sister ordered the tonkotsu ramen and I ordered the steak and kimchi ramen. She said the chashu pork was very tender and loved the broth. For the steak and kimchi ramen, the steak is thinly sliced, the broth wasn't oily and has good spice to it. Towards the end the broth got really salty due to the kimchi. The ajitama egg was cooked perfectly! The price is more than other places but it's worth the big portions you get. Service was good and you pay with a QR code. There's some street parking but it fills up quick. There's also a parking garage southeast of the restaurant. I'm not sure if they validate parking though. Yes, I'm angry about how unprofessionally we were treated by Miles and Everett, who is managing tables. This business is welcome to challenge me on this, but completely true. First, we checked in yesterday trying to make a reservation for today. Was told they don't make reservations, but check in at 4 the day of. So I check in at 415 today, stated we preferred to eat around 6. Was told to check in later when a waitlist was started. Wife checked in at, then daughter checked at 450. She was told to return at 530. At 530, wife was told that the waitlist started at 3 and there are 2 large parties ahead of us, wouldn't accommodate So for this runaround, then being unprofessional, they get the lowest rating possible. This place was such a fun spot to go to and is totally not a normal restaurant because it's an experience. I went with a few friends and my kids where we all got at one table(8 people). My friends and I all ordered the hot pot where it comes with the broth and then you cook your veggies and choice of meat with a side of rice and you cook it on a heat table where you eat. The one downside is that your food is boiling in front of you so it will splash. So be careful! But the food was so fun to make and I can now officially say I cooked my food at a restaurant. One of the more authentic shabu places I have been to in Utah. I love that they have 3 different broth options and a great veggie plate. Probably my only issue with this place as they charge four dollars for an extra bowl of rice, which seems a little expensive. This place made me like Shabu restaurants again. Normally shabu restaurants are not gluten friendly and the meat they give you is sub par. Not this place. Not only did I like this place, my daughters of 8,12, and 15 gave this place 5 stars. We did the shabu shabu option. And we tried the Australian Wagyu and the Japanese Wagyu (2X the price). I would say go for the Australian wagyu and the miso sauce. Regarding the service, the place is busy and doesn't take reservations. Just show up. Drop your name, and go shopping. We got called earlier than expected. Had to sit at a high top. Preferred a regular table, however the place is small. Shabu Shabu the Japanese version of Hot Pot, is very tasty and as yummy as its counterpart. We will start with what I enjoyed. I enjoyed the service, Travis was fantastic. Not only did he bring the vibes he brought the experience! Fun to chat and interact with. The next thing I enjoyed was the ambiance, the background music was good level and didn't interrupt conversation. Even being close to others you were still able to have your own conversation and hear yours. The next thing was the food! Very good and tasty but that leads me to the only thing I didn't like. The broth was very salty but it was good. It was better after mixing the chili oil to make it "spicier" (I'm a fiend for spice) I would definitely come here again. The wife and I were attending the "Best of the Fest" wine event at Canyon's last Friday and we knew we needed to get some food in us before we started. We had heard about this somewhat new ramen joint and decided to check it out. The menu reflects their desire to be all things asian with Vietnamese pho dishes, Japanese shabu-shabu and ramen. Interesting, little known fact is that ramen originally came from mainland China then made its way over to Japan. One of our guests had the pho while the rest of us went for various ramen dishes. Service as prompt and efficient, prices were what you would expect for a restaurant located in the middle of resort plaza catering to tourists. Don't expect to be blown away by the food. It was average, decent flavor, large portions. I'm not going to get into the dishes as they were totally decent and nothing more. If you want good ramen in Park City go to Yuma Ramen on 224. If you are hanging out at the Canyon's and have an urge for asian food then you will get a solid meal eating here that you will probably forget about as soon as you walk out the door, though you will be full! read more

This is our favorite spot in all of Park City! We discovered it during our stay and loved it so much that we returned two nights in a row! The service was outstanding, even though the restaurant was bustling both times we visited. We arrived early to get on the waitlist and enjoyed drinks at a nearby bar while we waited. The quality of the meat was exceptional. My fiancé and I are huge fans of shabu and can be quite picky, but this place exceeded our expectations. The meat was top-notch, and the broth was so flavorful that I found myself drinking it straight--something I've never done before! The selection of sauces was the perfect finishing touch. You choose 1 protein/portion and a broth. They bring you a bowl of veggies, udon noodles, sauces, rice and your own pot. The Tonkatsu broth was delicious. The miso as well. Our waiter Kurt was amazing. It was perfect on a cold night. It is located in the Canyons village ski area. We stayed at the Hyatt Centric and so a quick walk over. Seems like a reservation is needed for dinner, and I would assume that they prioritize bigger parties with closer to 8 people as opposed to smaller ones, which is also what other reviews I saw said. What an incredible spot! This marks our second year returning, and the hot pot is a rejuvenating remedy for my chilly, tired body post-skiing. Keep in mind, they don't take reservations, so there might be a bit of a wait during peak hours. The counter seating offers an awesome vibe. We opted for the tonkotsu broth with pork loin and the miso broth with American wagyu. The 8 oz of meat was just the right amount for me. The combo comes with veggies, rice and noodles as well so you'll definitely have enough food. While both broths were fantastic, I leaned slightly more towards the tonkotsu over the miso. I normally don't do this, especially when I don't even get to try the food. My friends and I were very hungry and was excited to try Shabu in Utah. We placed our orders, and as we were waiting for our food, the servers were cleaning the table behind me. Then I heard a sound that something had dropped behind me and didn't think anything of it, took a quick look back, and noticed that something had spilled. Then, shortly after, I noticed the side of my pants felt wet. So I got up and turned around, and my friends were like, "It'll all over your white sweater and pants." The servers didn't even let me know it was on me, nor they did helped clean it off. I ran to the restroom and tried to clean off tile red chili oil. Of course, it didn't work. The manager spoke to me and told me she would pay for laundry. I was leaving the next day. She offered to pay for dry cleaning if I sent her the bill. Which means my clothes would be shocking in the oil for a while. I asked her to comp the meal and she agreed but she only composed my meal which I thought wasn't a good server. The manager was telling my friend to calm down because she was concerned about me and wasn't sure if it was a hot soup that spilled. We left and didn't eat there. I felt that the service could be better, and they should have provided instant compensation instead of putting it on me to let my clothes soak in oil, get it dry cleaned, and send the receipt. The staff didn't feel the urgency of the situation or showed concern. They were more worried about how loud my friend's reacting to the situation than how to make it right the situation right.
