Very cute little trendy place in downtown Northbrook. It is labelled as 'lounge" only you dont see the actual words 'Next Door" so its a little confusing from that aspect. Its actually the 'Next Door' to Eataco. The drinks are insta-friendly, very cute for pics. I had the lychee drink which was really good with real fruit inside of it. Was at here for a a private party and the good from Eataco was provided, Ive had Eataco before and it's usually really good but a couple of items (elote and quesadilla) were a little bit strong on the salt. Stopped by for a visit, and honestly, Next Door Lounge wasn't what I expected after finding it online. The space felt really tight, and the atmosphere didn't quite match the vibe I was hoping for. It seemed a bit unkempt, with worn furniture and a general sense of neglect. Definitely not the most comfortable spot to relax--felt cramped and not very inviting. I was not too fond of the service. And to top it all off, the menu prices were pretty steep - $16 for a cocktail. But since I'd already made the trip, I figured I might as well try one anyway. I ordered the ROSE-LY, which was OK. It's made of ketel one rose, fresh lychees and syrup, grapefruit, and Josh rose wine. Honestly, I cannot say it was worth the price. read more

This is a nice, casual place to grab a drink and a bite to eat. It's missing a little something, I don't know how to explain it. We will definitely be back though. Nice to sit in a dark bar, with trendy music, good cocktails close to home! read more

This place has great drinks and food. The problem: every time I want to stop in for drinks with friends it's closed due to a "private party". Just this week when I walked in with my daughter we were quickly escorted out through the private party and to the connecting taco place. It was abrupt and awkward. There was no sign on the door nor anything to let us know the lounge had been reserved for the evening. There has to be a better system. You are either a private event space or a cocktail lounge open to the public. I won't be planning an outing there anymore just due to the fact that we have no idea what to expect when we get there. It's a shame because the room is cute, and the drinks and food are very good. read more

Cool super small bar with good tacos and they even can accommodate gluten free celiacs like me. Cool vibe and very intimate because of the small dark space and couches. The tacos were ok. The beer selection was not numerous but still good The staff were nice. read more

Had such a great experience here and can't wait to come back! Staff were attentive, friendly and made us fabulous drinks! My only tidbit..the bathrooms. Please consider giving a little TLC to it, I feel like investing a little more into it whether it's the mirror/decor/wallpaper it will tie everything together. What what? There's a cute cocktail lounge in downtown Northbrook! Right next to Eataco, but serving its own menu of food and cocktails, Next Door lounge is a cozy hangout spot. I had the spicy Thai shrimp (yum), the corn burrata (burrata kind of hard, but overall a good tasting dish), the mushroom pie (it's kind of a pizza, I liked it, lots of leftovers heated up well the next day). My cocktail was pretty tasty, I had the smoky pineapple. It was a bit too sweet and not too smoky, but reasonable for a suburban cocktail. Loved the comfy armchairs, the seating arrangement was perfect for our small group. Will be back! read more

Lounge right next door to eat taco in downtown northbrook. So glad there's another bar to add to the nightlife in northbrook. Super friendly customer service. We stopped by on a Thursday night for date night and we enjoyed our time. The drinks were delicious and strong! Our favorite was the mango mint capirinha! Everything on their menu looked delicious. I absolutely LOVE Next-Door Lounge! The vibe and energy are great and the drinks are delicious. It has indoor and outdoor seating which is wonderful when the weather is nice. Wow! This lounge is cozy and romantic! Adjoins the taco place next door so has food. I tried a couple of shrimp tacos and a beer. The bartender said they tend to get busy around 8, but I could see myself stopping by for happy hour every once in a while. read more
