We'd originally gone to The Gulfview Square mall to see Yancy Street Comics, but much to our chagrin they weren't there. It as only when we went to Books a Million, did we notice the new location for Yancy. I am not a Comic Book Enthusiast, but my beau is, so we went inside. There is SO MUCH in this store that is NOT comics that it was amusing to me. Yes, they have your comics, but they also they have a lot of adjunct stuff. Do you collect statues? They have them. This is an amazing comic book store. From back issues, collectible statues, and variants, Yancy Street Comics has it all. Of course, they are moving to the mall across the street, but this shop is so cool, you'll want to track it down. The owner is super cool; he made me a sweet deal on an Amazing Spider-Man 121--I've been want to add the Gwen Stacy Death story to my collection for some time. Oh, and the owner also let me go in the back to hunt down a few Golden Age comics. And finally, the Thing is my favorite superhero, so the name Yancy Street just strikes home for me. Let me first say that I am not a comic book person so, I do not keep up with titles, superheroes or anything that is sold in a comic book shop. So, thanks to an advertisement found on the right hand side of my Facebook page, I became a a customer at Yancy Street. Facebook taught me that Archie and the Ramones had a comic book release. Being a big Ramones fan I had to get a copy. This led me to make a call to YSC and the gentleman who answered set 3 different covers of issue #1 aside. When I went in to pick them up the lovely ladies who worked there help me ID the other three covers that were made for this 1st issue (I purchased 3 of the 6 different covers). I was so pleased that the next time I returned to the mall, I went back in the store to shake the hand of the man that set the books aside and thank him. He saw I was grabbing a bunch of spider man comics and took time out to show me a copy of amazing fantasy #15 first appearance of spider man. It really doesn't get any cooler then that!! Welcome to Hudson, FL a horrible town filled horrible people, but for some reason fate has blessed this sun beaten town with not one but TWO comic book shops in a geezer infested state where most towns have none, this place has 2 comic book shops, & know that this shop dear reader is aces. I've been shopping here little under 10 years. So this review (unlike the rest) I know what I'm talking about. I travel over 50 miles to buy my Comics from here (I know that means nothing to you) but my point is the service is good the owners know their product. Yes they bag & board & offer a folder service (where you order your monthly comics & they hold them for you, for your next visit & give you a discounted rate on said comics). I think I over us parentheses in these reviews. (what do you think?) Yancy Street is also open on Sundays & Mondays, unlike other lesser comic book shops that will go unnamed in this review (EFFEN SAVAGES!) The Store is pretty large with wide isles. I was told once by one of the owners they originally wanted to name the store "Big Boy Comics" for the size of the clientele who shop there & that's why the wide isles. Yancy Street also has like 20 boxes of back issues (don't quote me on that I've never stood there & counted). They deal pretty heavily in toys & statues as well, if that's your thing. So pop in chat up my boys Steve & Chris (I exclude them from the list of horrible people that make up Hudson), tell them how much you hated "Super Man Returns" & you'll get along with them fine. This is definitely the best comic book shop in our town, i used to be a pretty big comic book collector, unfortunately I had to so all of my comics and they gave me a very fair deal on to everything that I had. I still go back and buy some comics here and there, and resell them so I can buy some more. I'm more of a reader than a collector lately. They have a lot of really neat stuff in the shop, like statues, costumes, Any comic can think of used and new, collectibles, stickers, shirts, you name it. My favorite thing about the store that they hold tournaments there, for different games like Dungeons & Dragons, Magic the gathering and such. It's cool to see places like this bring the community together and do something constructive. Everyone's in a while they also have pretty cool things like gatherings where artists come and sell their work. Take a visit every single time I go to the mall. Even if I don't buy something, they make me feel very welcome. Must check out this shop if you're in the area. read more

I gotta give credit to Yancy Street Comics. They are a fantastic place to visit for comics. Always have sales and their selection is huge. I don't think I've visited another comic shop in the area that had a better selection of back issues than this place. The store is very presentable, clean, and their customer service always treated me well. Kinda sucks that they're all the way over at New Port Richey. Otherwise, I'd be going here much more frequently. read more

Been living in Hudson for quite some time, and I used to have to download my comics because I didn't feel like dealing with people who didn't know what they were talking about. Steve and Chris at Yancy St are very knowledgeable in all the Comics, Steve being more for the Marvel Fan and Chris for the DC Fan. These guys are amazing, and really make you want to come back and shop with them more, even giving a discount for the Relaunch of the DC Titles, which I love. If you like Comic Books, or just feel like chatting, these guys have the store for you, with artists and writers stopping in from time to time. P.S; For bonus points in popularity, mention to Chris that Damian Wayne is a snotty brat who needs to show more respect to Alfred. read more

I give it 5 stars for the mere fact that it exists!!! Very few comic shops left in the country Cool place with huge selection. Bad news is some of the prices on some things are a bit high. However, being in a mall, that is to be expected. I give them props for having a place to bring our kids so they can see and experience the superheroes and villains of yesterday and today!!! When I moved to this area, I was quite surprised to find we had a local comic store. I just assumed that, like most things around here, I would have to drive to Clearwater or Tampa to find it. Their new location is nice and, I believe, more accessible to new customers.The store is a decent size with a good variety of comics in stock. There are definitely more toys and "collectables" than I usually see at other comic stores. I have no problem with that--I'm just not a collector of those kinds of things. I have a preference for the thicker graphic novels so I can read several volumes at once and this store has a nice assortment of them on the shelves. If they don't have it, they will happily order it for you.The manga section seemed a little small but, I don't read manga so it doesn't bother me. I found the only staff person in the store to be friendly and helpful. Not pushy with sales or irritated by my inquiries. Some of the comics here are cheaper than you can find on say, Amazon for example. I appreciate having access to a comic store so close to home. When I'm looking for new reading material, I need to have something tangible to examine. After all, comics aren't just for reading but looking and I have deep appreciation for the art and creativity involved. Boobs are nice to look at too. Just joking...maybe not. Anyway, this review has become much too long. In conclusion, this is a great place to do some shopping. read more

Very well stock of comics, they carry DC, Marvel of course but also a large variety of independents as well. The gaming section works well with you by placing orders and deliver quick response from their distributors. They are also an official sanction gaming location so D&D every Wednesday nights and Magic every Monday and Friday Nights. They are also huge into Heroclix. read more
