My family and I really like King Bee! They consistently have good Chinese food too…read more The first time I tried their Jumbo Siopao was from my tita. I was hooked. I had to know where it was from. That's when I learned of King Bee. Masinag seems to be the nearest to our place... even if it's really far away from us. For Sunday lunches with our clan, we go all the way to Masinag to pick up lunch. That's exactly what we did today. Our usuals are their Yang Chow Fried Rice, Sweet and Sour Pork, Chopseuy Fried Noodles, Hakaw, Asado Siopao, and of course, Jumbo Siopao. These dishes from them never fail us. Their hakaw has the most shrimp I've ever seen inside a hakaw. The Jumbo Siopao is a mix of bola bola with egg, chorizo, shrimp, and mushroom. I've tried something similar from other places... and King Bee's is still the best.

King Bee used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant when I use to work in Antipolo. Whenever my work…read morefriends and I craved for some Chinese grub, this is the one place we'd always end up in. It's become one of the best places I truly miss when I finally moved to the Ortigas area. Unlike most Chinese restaurants, King Bee does not use MSG in their dishes. I guess they are just able to create delicious Oriental food without any "magic". Hahaha. My personal favorites would be their dumplings. I love King Bee's Hakaw!!! It's one of the best I've ever gotten to taste. It's seasoned well and is always fresh! Plus, whenever I check the shrimp (yes, I do that), I always appreciate the fact that they take out the black string-like thing found in between the shrimp's body. Their siomai is pretty good too and I usually pair these with their Yangchow Fried Rice. So good! Serving size here at King Bee is always good to share so coming here in groups would be a good idea. I actually have not had the time to take my dad here (he loves Chinese cuisine) so I'll be sure to take him here one of these days. I'm pretty sure he's going to love it!

Mogu Tree Noodle House is located in this compound where there's a small grocery store in front,…read moreanother restaurant and a big tree. This is their second branch, their first branch is on Lilac St. in Marikina. The place is rather small. It serves Chinese food and there's a spread where you can choose your toppings for your claypot rice or soup. THE FOOD We had the Pork Asado and Garlic Sausage Claypot Rice (P170) - it's good. Reminds me of Binondo eateries. Better than I expected from a place that looked like what it looks like. I don't think they actually cook the rice in the clay pot like they do in Hong Kong, but that would be expecting too much. We also had the Spareribs Tausi (P140) - this was good but nothing too different from what you'll find in Binondo dimsum restaurants. The best dish we had, for me, was the Laksa Noodle Soup. The noodles were not soggy, the spicy, creamy and sour flavors were balanced - the whole effect was delicious. This is the dish I would recommend someone try. IMPRESSIONS I wasn't particularly impressed by the looks of the place. It looks like a neighborhood eatery. As for the food & drinks, I was surprised that they had imported sodas/drinks! The food was actually pretty decent and delicious, more than acceptable for its price range, and reminds me of Binondo eateries. This is not a high-end place, but it's clean. I don't know if there are any other Chinese restaurants in Antipolo since I'm not from there, but if you just have a craving for claypot rice, laksa, or Chinese sodas and beer, you could try Mogu Tree. The menu is a bit limited to claypot rice and laksa and a few dimsum dishes, but it's authentic in the sense that it feels / tastes like a Binondo eatery.
