I must say that we are very fortunate to live in an area where we can enjoy so many excellent Restaurants with top quality cuisine from all over the world. Certainly we were not disappointed with our experience last night at Yangoon. We had first the Palatha (lLayered Bread with coconut chicken Curry sauce) So good that next time we will double the order.The Musho Pork and Samusa Salad also very tasty and served by the Owners Frank and his lovely wife just superb. I was skeptical in the beginning because of a few negative reviews, but I'm very glad I gave this place a try! I ordered the tea leaf salad and Nan Gyi Toke via doordash, and both dishes came perfectly packed and tasted so fresh and so good! Definitely a five-star rating IMO. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they have the soupy portion of the food in small plastic containers wrapped in a plastic bag and the rest in paper boxes, which made the food came in fresh just like when you order in a dine-in restaurant. Under SIP we've been mostly cooking ourselves, but caved in and ordered delivery from Yangon tonight. Their food was fantastic and their delivery service was superb. On arrival all the food was piping hot and all the crispy items were crunchy like we were in the restaurant. Yangon is a Burmese restaurant which is my go to place for lunch if I decide for alternative to my usual Japanese restaurant stop in Millbrae. Very clean and simple. I like that you get a sampling of spicy papaya salad with your lunch plates, I have to try more variety of authentic dishes served during dinner hours. read more

I usually get take-out here and having lunch on Friday there I realized why. They are soooo slow. Their food is always spot on (you will see a mix of Burmese food like curry and noodle dishes and Chinese like kung pao chicken or Mongolian beef etc). Portions are generous and lunch specials are $9 which includes mango salad and rice (coconut rice is $1 extra). The place is pretty tiny so I would reco getting take-out unless you can afford to take a leisurely 1.5 hour lunch - and this is when you harass them for the bill. read more

Dined at the outdoor patio in back of restaurant on a Friday evening. Patio equipped with ceiling fan and heating lamp for a comfortable dining atmosphere. Tables spaced apart for social distancing. Paper menus provided. The couple that runs the restaurant are very nice and friendly, making sure that your needs are attended to. The pumpkin pork stew is absolutely delicious. Flavorful and comforting, best paired with rice. It does take about 20-25 mins for that dish, which they told us when we ordered. But well worth the wait. We also enjoyed the Burmese chow fun, which had had so many goodies in there like calamari, chicken, shrimp, beans, egg, carrots, cabbage cooked with wide rice noodles in delicious sauce with a bit of a spice. We loved this place! Went there late evening after touring SFO, the staff was so courteous and attentive, unbelievable! You know the place is good when the owner greets you! We ordered a ginger root salad , some spring rolls, samusa apps, and all were fresh and tasty! But the best part was the main courses they were amazing, honey chicken for the kids, Burmese style noodles for me (similar to pad Thai) and okra tofu for my vegetarian wife! First before you eat, you have to get there, so you will be happy to know that there is a public parking lot across the street that even has EV charging stations! So useful. Second, the small restaurant is really clean and the staff was very welcoming and helpful in explaining the dishes and their menu. Next, the taste! We had the Tea Leaf Salad and the Nan Gyi Toke noodles. Both items required mixing after served, but the server was kind enough to explain all the components of the dish and mix it for us. The owner and his wife used to be servers at another Chinese restaurant that left Burlingame a bit ago. They have many of the same dishes and execute them well. All the servers are nice as well, they all now remember me by name, which is one of the things I love about the Broadway area!! Yum! We just had a delicious lunch! Now, I'm starved for good Asian food since moving to Portland, so might be more easily impressed, but still think this was legit. We had potstickers, palatha for appetizers; spicy basil shrimp and Burmese lamb curry and garlic noodles for the mains. The appetizers stole the show, but everything was good. I found the shrimp too salty and the lamb lacking some salt and everything needed more heat (but that's me with Indian tastebuds). An excellent Burmese place located in a nondescript building in downtown Burlingame. Nor the building nor the interior make one want to stop by, but stop by you must. Because you will be rewarded with very nice service and well made food without taking a hit on your wallet. The tea salad while not perfect, was a good amalgamation of flavors and textures. Mildly tannic tea leaves, crisp fresh lettuce, crunchy peanuts all brought together with lime and the nice salty hit of dried shrimp. Kebat is perfectly seasoned and the seasoned meat is well balanced by the mint. The red curry has depth of flavor and is wonderful with the white rice forming a perfectly mild foil to the zingy curry. Stop in! you will not be disappointed. read more

It's a good "neighborhood" kind of spot that's no frills, but cozy. Food was yummy-- the coconut noodle soup and the tea leaf salad are especially tasty.
