We had 3 dishes: Mango Chicken, Spinach with Garlic, and Vegetable Fried Rice. Mango Chicken was outstanding! Spinach with garlic could've been more spicy? It was, well spinach with garlic but not overpowering garlic, in fact, I felt it could have used more. On the other hand, the spinach was not overcooked and did taste good because of that. The Fried Rice, yeah, probably should have tried something more exciting. Like the wonton soup-I saw them hand-making the wontons and almost ordered some soup to go! 3.5 stars. Yangon seems like a great ethnic addition to any Bay area neighborhood. It's quiet, unassuming, and the customer service is good. In fact, I'm pretty sure the family next to us were local regulars. But if you're looking for a bite to eat on the way to the airport like we were, it's also a decent option. We told them we had an hour to eat, and they got us in and out with 10-15 minutes to spare. Really appreciated that. We ordered the tea leaf salad and the coconut noodle soup. The soup was rich, creamy, delicious. The SO enjoyed the hard boiled egg in it. Unfortunately though, the tea leaf salad had fried garlic bits that were a tad overdone, giving it a bitterness that competed with the salty, earthy tea leaf dressing. I've seen better execution of this salad elsewhere, but I'm sure they would have fixed the problem if we told them. I simply just picked the garlic out. I'd still recommend Yangon if you were looking for a place near the airport to eat, especially if you wanted a coconut noodle soup. read more

It was clearly denoted on the order that doordash was to deliver utensils. They forgot. I called doordash, they acknowledged their mistake and REFUSED to correct it! Just ordered delivery from here. Everything was still hot when it arrived. The sesame orange beef was delicious! Super fried & crunchy, just the way I like it & just a hint of sauce. I was skeptical in the beginning because of a few negative reviews, but I'm very glad I gave this place a try! I ordered the tea leaf salad and Nan Gyi Toke via doordash, and both dishes came perfectly packed and tasted so fresh and so good! Definitely a five-star rating IMO. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they have the soupy portion of the food in small plastic containers wrapped in a plastic bag and the rest in paper boxes, which made the food came in fresh just like when you order in a dine-in restaurant. I usually get take-out here and having lunch on Friday there I realized why. They are soooo slow. Their food is always spot on (you will see a mix of Burmese food like curry and noodle dishes and Chinese like kung pao chicken or Mongolian beef etc). Portions are generous and lunch specials are $9 which includes mango salad and rice (coconut rice is $1 extra). The place is pretty tiny so I would reco getting take-out unless you can afford to take a leisurely 1.5 hour lunch - and this is when you harass them for the bill. read more

Dined at the outdoor patio in back of restaurant on a Friday evening. Patio equipped with ceiling fan and heating lamp for a comfortable dining atmosphere. Tables spaced apart for social distancing. Paper menus provided. The couple that runs the restaurant are very nice and friendly, making sure that your needs are attended to. The pumpkin pork stew is absolutely delicious. Flavorful and comforting, best paired with rice. It does take about 20-25 mins for that dish, which they told us when we ordered. But well worth the wait. We also enjoyed the Burmese chow fun, which had had so many goodies in there like calamari, chicken, shrimp, beans, egg, carrots, cabbage cooked with wide rice noodles in delicious sauce with a bit of a spice. First before you eat, you have to get there, so you will be happy to know that there is a public parking lot across the street that even has EV charging stations! So useful. Second, the small restaurant is really clean and the staff was very welcoming and helpful in explaining the dishes and their menu. Next, the taste! We had the Tea Leaf Salad and the Nan Gyi Toke noodles. Both items required mixing after served, but the server was kind enough to explain all the components of the dish and mix it for us. The owner and his wife used to be servers at another Chinese restaurant that left Burlingame a bit ago. They have many of the same dishes and execute them well. All the servers are nice as well, they all now remember me by name, which is one of the things I love about the Broadway area!! An excellent Burmese place located in a nondescript building in downtown Burlingame. Nor the building nor the interior make one want to stop by, but stop by you must. Because you will be rewarded with very nice service and well made food without taking a hit on your wallet. The tea salad while not perfect, was a good amalgamation of flavors and textures. Mildly tannic tea leaves, crisp fresh lettuce, crunchy peanuts all brought together with lime and the nice salty hit of dried shrimp. Kebat is perfectly seasoned and the seasoned meat is well balanced by the mint. The red curry has depth of flavor and is wonderful with the white rice forming a perfectly mild foil to the zingy curry. Stop in! you will not be disappointed. read more
