I'm a little torn on this place because the people are genuinely friendly and clearly trying. Came in on a Saturday for lunch thinking there was a buffet--turns out the buffet is Monday-Friday lunch only, so that was a bummer. Food-wise: the chicken was good (and very hot/steaming). The crab puffs were nicely fried--super crisp--but the filling was basically just cream cheese. Even a little seasoning (or a touch of crab) would make them a lot better. Fried rice and white rice were fine. The egg rolls tasted very "pre-made/wholesale/Sysco truck." I'm giving it a 3 mainly because I like the staff and I'm willing to give it one more try. My wife and kid said they're out, never again. I also hate how they shamed the bad tipper. Not the cleanest well kept place. read more

So when I read the reviews I was like Ok going with an open mind. BTW I went yesterday and I started this thing last year where I just order some big meal for my birthday. So I went in and yes I was a bit surprised by the place and said Oh no..but I was already there and every other Chinese takeout around the area were closed. I've never tried the Singapore noodles but always read it's the best thing to order when ordering takeout and had my mind set on that. So the girl at the register mentioned Curry but I've never tried that before so I said sure...let's do it. I mentioned it was my birthday and how this was my "bday dinner" not to get anything free just making small talk. Without hesitation she went and grabbed a drink and said here you go.It's not much but it was a very nice gesture. So I live about 30+min from the restaurant and wasn't expecting much since I've been let down before by takeout places. When I got home and opened the boxes I was surprised by the amount. Most places around the area from Waller to Sealy will give you maybe a scoop of their food. When I tell you that this will be my go to place now. The food was delicious. Singapore noodles are now my fav. At first,like most people,I went a bit crazy on my seasoning. It honestly didn't need any of the extra soy I added. I'm more of a steamed rice but forgot to ask. Not saying this one was bad.Wish I got into my egg roll sooner cus it got soggy but again it's a 30min drive but that's on me. I did save a bit to have some leftover today. We were in town for a few days and tried to diversify our eating so we tried take out from Yang's. Counter service was ok. Like most Asian restrooms, if you're not Asain, they seem to just want you in and out as fast as they can. Not even a second of small talk. Food was oily but tasted good. They also have large portions so there is value in the price. We would try some different places on or next trip to Waller, but would still consider Yang's as a backup. read more

I came from California today and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express across the street. I was kind of skeptical about the restaurant after reading the negative reviews which were dated years ago but I decided to give it a try. Anyway, I found the food was good given the small town location. My friend ordered the broccoli chicken and I order the family delight. They were good and the portion was generous. The prices are also very reasonable. The food here exceeded my expectation because I thought it would be the typical Chinese American taste (sweetness in every dish.) The food wasn't greasy because they didn't use any oil and used water to cook instead. The prawns were juicy and cooked just right and so did the chicken, beef and vegetables. We also ordered the hot and sour soup and it was quite spicy and tasty. Given the location, taste, service and price, I gave it a five star. read more

This place is really good. I had the Hunan shrimp and the shrimp were big. Cooked well and it was very tasty. The place was quiet. I guess because of the holiday. The staff were very friendly and brought the food out within 10 minutes. My wife had the orange chicken and only ate half of it. Lunch for tomorrow. I had the spring rolls and my wife had the chicken egg rolls. I love how crunchy and light the dough was. I can't wait to try the buffet. It's only from 11-3. It's your average Chinese delivery. They have all of the usuals, but the food isn't the best quality. The food taste terrible the next day, but the service is decent. If you call in a delivery, it usually doesn't take as long. The service is decent too. Passing by from out of town and decided to give Yang a try. Bad choice for us. Very little food on buffet, what was there was low quality and bad taste. Place is dark and dirty. Took a while to find a clean soup spoon. If you doubt this review just look at the filthy windows when you arrive in parking lot. We should of turned around then. read more

I ordered takeout. From what I could see, the place looked clean. The woman was actually sweeping as I was waiting for my order. I've never had General Tso's chicken from a restaurant where they don't give you broccoli with it. I didn't know this at the time I placed my order and paid for this $9.20 meal or else I would have said "no, thank you" and ate somewhere else. I've also never been denied the option of substituting fried rice for white rice with my meal! But whatever... I ordered it with the white rice and waited. The food wasn't bad but it wasn't nearly worth what I paid for it, considering it didn't come with broccoli. General Tso's chicken is supposed to have a spicy kick. I placed an order over the phone that took a hour and a half. The driver claimed he came to the door and no one answered but I was right by the door between the time he said he was there. He then made me walk to his car to get my order. Overall the food was good but it wasn't worth the wait and the walk. I have not been to Yang's Kitchen in over ONE year ... the only Asian dive in town. At this time ... I got severly sick from eating there .. that took 5 days of misery to overcome ... yet it is STILL in business. The rule of thumb is "Asian restaurants in small towns are a risk." The Golden Pagoda in Bellville is an exception ... it is excellent. If you live in the Waller area and want Asian cuisine ... the trip to Bellville or Houston is worth it.
