Just wanted to make a small update that this store no longer accepts empty candle jars for recycling. I did check the website over the weekend for any updates prior to visiting but there was none. I went in today and the manager stated that as of yesterday the 29th, they received notification from corporate that they no longer participate in the recycling program and that anything that I wished to recycle will need to be mailed through corporate or TerraCycle (the recycling program). She still graciously accepted my items that I brought in as I tried to turn them in a couple of months ago but was turned away. I am very disappointed about this service being discontinued. It was a fantastic program that had positive environmental effects, ie: reusing items that can be salvaged instead of going to the landfill. I am still keeping this a 5 star review as the manager was very nice and accepted my items without issue. read more

I shop online at YC, have for years. Recently they implemented a process where, if your order is over $100, they send you a very lagged email from "Newell Brands" asking you to "pay for your order" with resubmitting credit card info you already did when you placed the order. Nothing tells you of this change when you place the order, so my order didn't go through at a time of a good sale. I called - 40 minutes on the phone - to learn all this and resolve. After that phone call, it took 2 1/2 hours for the Newell Brands email to come through. If I had gotten/noticed it upon placing my order, I wouldn't have clicked on it. Who is "Newell Brands" and why would they be asking for me to re-enter credit card info I already had?!? Yankee Candle needs to work on this process if they are going to keep it! You should be told this is coming, and from who, at order placement. It needs to be far more prompt! And if someone doesn't click on it because they think it's a potential scam, they need to follow up with an email about your order! Just unacceptable!! I'm not even understanding it's purpose! It would be sad to not get these candles in the future, but I'd need to rethink shopping here if improvements aren't made!! They did honor the prices, but took 40 minutes of my time unnecessarily, so they better have! read more

Felicia is wonderful! She knows her store well, is accommodating, and friendly. We came in with a $20 off coupon but ended up getting way more than we'd planned (as per usual when we make a trip to Yankee Candle). She informed us of a better sale going on that would save us more money and she was right. If we'd just used the $20 off coupon we would have ended up buying most of everything at full price while most of the store was already marked down due to the other sale. It's so nice when staff prioritize honesty above sales. Love this location so much. read more

I wanted to speak about a recent experience I had in the Yankee Candle store at Arrowhead Mall. I ordered candles online and received a shipment of them.  I had never tried 2 of the candles (2 wick tumblers) I ordered (same scent). I lit one as soon as I got home. I let it burn for a little while (maybe 30 minutes) and I didn't like the scent. I looked on my receipt reguarding a return and saw I was able to return them to the store. I walked into the store and Tracey (I believe is a manager) assisted me. I told her I wanted to return the candles. Right away I felt like she had an attitude. I asked how much I had to spend in the store (based on my return) and she said it was a "candle for a candle". I started asking about getting something else and she interrupted me and said again, more sternly, "a candle for a candle" so I began looking in the store at the Woodwick candles. She then said "the candles you want to exchange for are on the other side of the store" I go "i don't really want those since I didn't like my candle, I would rather get something else." She rolled her eyes at me and I go "actually it said on my receipt that I can get a refund. Let me just do that" she rolled her eyes at me again and sighed. She asked what I didn't like and I explained. I said I like the woodwick candles a lot more. She told me I could grab one of those after she had previously told me I could not. Since we were already in the middle of the refund and I felt very upset about our interaction so I said that I would just go with the refund. She kept insisting and I said no. She sighed again and said something to her coworker when she turned around. When I first came in I was planning on exchanging the candles and buying some holders and a few white elephant gifts but her really bad attitude changed my mind. I stayed calm the entire time and thanked her for her help but I now have a horrible taste in my mouth reguarding Yankee Candle. read more

Who doesn't love candles? I can admit now that I'm older I have more of an appreciation for candles. I never understood why my mom always had so many. Now that I have my own place, I am candle obsessed! Yankee Candle has a great variety of candles from car air freshener to candle plug ins to regular jar candles and many more! My favorite thing about this store is that they always have promotions! Sometimes I'll go in purchasing a couple items for under $5! My favorite item here is their scented ball spheres. It's perfected for places that candles just can't do justice like laundry rooms and closets! The workers working here are always so nice and friendly read more

I received a coupon by email (buy $25 worth get $10 off) to go to Yankee Candle. I normally get my Yankee Candle from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I figure since I am in the mall what the heck. I stepped into the place and all the smells hit me all at once. I had to look for my favie Vanilla Cupcake or the Christmas cookie. Love those smells. This first time I wandered in here a few years ago I was looking for a gift that was to be shipped out of state. Without letting on she was the intended receiver I had asked whether women preferred flowers or chocolates. Her answer was yellow and pink roses could always be given to friends. So off to the mall I went, thinking I was probably getting perfume at some kiosk or something. I wandered into Yankee Candle and they had a pink rose scent. The receiver loves candles and when she got it a few days later she understood the connection to the generic question and enjoyed the candle. I have been back several times since then to buy candles for my apt (they smell better than smoke) and for gifts. They always seem to have something on sale, with their biggest sales in January and July. Yesterday I purchased two large Pumpkin spice jar candles, the second being 1/2 off. I have a problem with drafts when the A/C is running and by buying an Illuma-lid I can get several months out of each candle even burning them every night. read more

Let me start by saying I love these candles and think the smells are truly unique. I have never visited a store because I usually buy online. I decided to go to the store today though to smell the holiday scents in person. On this particular trip I had a coupon for buy 2 small jar candles get 2 free. I had never purchased the small jar candles so I asked the woman behind the counter to point out which coupons pertain to this promotion. She showed me the small jar candle and proceeded to tell me that this was not a good deal. She told me the large candle was the best deal and that the small jar candle wasn't a good price. While I can appreciate her desire to up sale I don't appreciate needing to explain that while I agree with her, I am not in the position to spend that much money today. I was perfectly happy with buying the 2 smaller candles and getting 2 free. I realize the best value is the large jar candles (which I had a coupon for buy 2 get 2 free also) I just couldn't spend that much money today. The trip continued to take a turn for the worst when I went to check out. We had about 5 people in line which wasn't a problem until the computer broke. We then spent over 10 minutes listening to the same associate announce that this is not her fault and she can't do anything to fix it. If we wanted our candles we would just have to wait. Finally she has the machine back up and running. She begins to ring everyone up. She however is taking the time to comment on how she feels about each and every scent that she rings up. After spending more then 25 minutes total in line I had to walk out with no candles. You see, I was on my lunch hour and didn't have the luxury of waiting 25 minutes to have my basket rang up. So now after spending my entire lunch hour in the store discussing my inability to afford 2 large jar candles at that time, waiting in line for the cashier to approve every ones candle choices, and hearing how she can't do anything about the computer, I left with no candles. This was my first experience in a Yankee Candle store and let me be honest, it STUNK and it wasn't the candles fault. read more

So I'm strolling along the mall and I come upon this store. I looked around a little before leaving, but something caught my eye and I kept it in mind for the return pass through. I went back in and was helped by Jennifer, who couldn't have been nicer, more knowledgeable or helpful. After her recommendation on a few scents, we put together a package that she wrapped nicely. She told me about their return policy, which includes the recipient returning a scent if not satisfied, even without the receipt. Very nice. I felt much better about buying something here. Had a very pleasurable experience here last night. The young lady, Ashley (I believe that was her name) was extremely friendly, helpful and very patient with me. Not to mention knowledgeable and answered all my questions in addition to advising me if I have troubles with my products, I can bring them back and can have then replaced etc. She also brought to my attention..."a special " they were having that actually was a better deal and I could get more product, than what I was choosing. Every-time I go in there, I am greeted by either Sandra or Jenifer. This candle store has really changed its feel over the past three years that I have been shopping there. In the past, the managers would ignore me, but I really appreciate the friendly atmosphere they all bring now. The last candle they up sold me to was The Sparkling Angel, they could sell snow to a Eskimo because the friendly staff always makes you feel like you're the only one in the store! read more

I am a Yankee Candle Fanatic. I have over 300 candles from Yankee. I have been a fan for 20 years. It is amazing how Yankee can capture a perfect fragrance that is second to none. My go to store was Metro Center Mall until they closed a few years ago. I missed that store because everyone was so friendly and nice. After the Metro Center Mall store closed, I started shopping at the Arrowhead Town Center. Unfortunately I did get the same warm experience from this store and after a few trips to this store I ceased shopping there and started ordering online. This year for the semi annual sale I decided to revisit the Arrowhead Town Center store because some items that I wanted were sold out online. I took my adult daughter with me and we had the most pleasant experience. Between the both of us, we spent well over $500 that day. We spent over an hour looking around and was greeted warmly when we came in. There was a lady by the name of Colleen who was exceptional. She was very patient and even made calls to other Yankee Stores to check availability of merchandise we wanted to purchase. Because of this phenomenal experience I came back the following day with both of my daughters and lucky for us Colleen was there. My daughters and I will be shopping at this Yankee Store because our warm exuberant experience from Colleen. Please keep her at this store. She is awesome! read more
