Manager was dismissive due to two employees calling out. The line was back to end of the store. Could not be bothered to log into a cash register to check some customers out. The only employee logged in spent 12 minutes checking one customer out and still not done. She Instead faulted us for being in the way of the online shopping. Don't fault me for shopping and you are supposedly preparing online shopping which was not apparent. This is a prime example of what is wrong with brick and mortar shopping. Manager was rude. Trusty World Market.. they have lots of goodies, spices, holiday items, just a generally good place to shop. This location has some pretty slow checkout processes but I guess if you aren't in a hurry it's no big deal. If you are making some new recipe that you don't have a spice for this would be a great place to try first.. and for a lot less money than the grocery store. read more

I totally forgot about world market but needed some specialty items and decided to check them out. They have everything from furniture, decor, foods and snacks around the world. They have a bit of everything! The store was very clean and the employees were friendly. I enjoy coming here & it's been awhile since I last came here. They have a little mixture of everything from pictures, bath salts & candles to lotions and furniture to snacks, coffee and wine. I enjoy looking at their various teas and snacks from other countries that you normally wouldn't find at the grocery store. Different types of jams and butters, spreads that you didn't think existed. They also have a pretty interesting selection of foreign candies. I like to always visit their spice isle because I have gotten a few from here that I cannot find at my local grocery store. It's worth checking out if you've never been here. I like to visit at least 3 times a year. Also this store is never super packed which I really like since I'm not one for crowds. read more

Lately they've been giving away free stuff to rewards members which hey I don't mind. So far I've gotten free coffee, olive oil, chocolate, Christmas ornaments and well, all kinds of things. On top of that they had great holiday coupons in December, I was able to get some things for friends and family. I've been a rewards member with them for awhile now but I would say this past year has been the best so far. Signing up is free and if you request text messaging they text you the coupons so you don't have to sign into the website every time to check what coupons you have. As for this particular store, over time I've been asked if I need help while I browse far less than before. But they always greet me and are friendly but always seem to be at the front of the store, not dispersed. I come here mainly for chocolate I can't find elsewhere as well as other biscuits and cookies that are hard to find. It is wild that they only have one person ringing people up right now. 3:30pm the Monday before Christmas. The poor cashier looks exhausted and a surly faced manager is looking through a binder while 5-7 people wait. World market does not prioritize, speedy shoppers like myself who need to run in quickly and get some thing between clients. read more

We asked the lady in the front register if she could help us finding how many spoons there was but we didn't find any, she then said well they are over there as in for us to go look for them but isn't that her job as an employee. My mom then said forget it and the lady was then telling us I said I could get somebody she lied. We went into the World Market on West Bell St in Peoria AZ. We found some cutlery that we decided to purchase. we went to the register and asked the cashier to check the prices on the items as they were on sell and we wanted an idea of the total. She stated, "I will have to ring it up to find that out". We looked at her like okay? She acted as though that was a problem for her. It came up to about 40.00 and we also used a coupon. We handed the cashier a 100.00 dollar bill and the cashier used the marker to check the bill which was no problem. The marker she used was very wet and she continuous rub over and over on the two seals on the left and right of the bill. She then said that the letters were rubbing off and she could not take the bill. Irritated we asked what she was talking about. She literally rub and rubbed until a small piece of the bill rubbed away. She said she didn't have another bill to show us the way it was "supposed to be". This woman literally accused us in front of a store full of people of used counterfeit currency. We did not purchase the items and left. I called to cooperate office, filed and complaint with the BBB and am now waiting on a response. We went to the casino and used the same bill with no problem. Eager to see how corporate will handle this situation... read more

Terrible customer service. I've had multiple incidents with different employees and they never wanted to accommodate me as a customer. It is not just this location I've had terrible experiences at other locations as well. Come on world market hire some better people. I really, really want to like World Market but every time it's utter disappointment. The staff is courteous and they do have interesting things but there are never enough employees to help with questions. This afternoon, I left Home Goods to see what WM had to offer. HG was mobbed and World Market empty though they had 40% off furniture. That tells you something! WM prices are misleading. If you want to make a purchase for a sale item, you've got to log in on your phone to pull up the discount and an employee helps the shopper; it's a pain. We had to wait 10 minutes to find someone to help and it took 10 minutes to find the item in the stockroom. Everything I attempted to buy was on sale but it wasn't ringing up as such and a clerk had to go and check it out. My husband and I walked out empty handed but would have spent $150. read more

I think I've died and gone to home decor Heaven ! I went trying to find specific pottery I'd been looking for to go in my kitchen. I was so excited to see so many items I've been wanting g for my new home. I was surprised to see that they had great collections of soaps and even food items. My daughter was so happy to see I found her some red velvet pancake and waffle mix because it's her favorite. I could have wandered around in here for hours. I didn't find the item I was looking for, but was able to purchase some amazing smelling body soaps, pancake mix, some other decor and even some super hot hot sauce for my spicy husband . If you enjoy farmhouse style decor and other household items this is a great place for you. The store was very clean and the employee helping me out at the register was awesome and very friendly. I am sure I'll be back so many more times in the very near future. There's some cute kitchen items and a huge dining table calling my name. This review is about the service not the store. I absolutely love World Market and have never had a bad experience in a store until last Saturday, December 1st, 2018. Myself and some friends were shopping last Saturday in the afternoon/evening at this store. We came across the holiday cookie jars that were buy one get one free for 19.99. We really wanted 2 of the camper cookie jars but the store only had 2 and one was chipped. I approached a manager, sadly I did not get her name, but inquired about whether the store had more of the camper cookie jars. She claimed they did not. I asked if there was anything she could do since the one was broken and the sale was buy one get one free. She said no, she had to write up or do something with the broken one and could't sell it and suggested I could get a different type of cookie jar. I really did not want a different one, I wanted 2 of the camper cookie jars. I asked if there is anything she could do price wise if I only got one, since there was none available and she said no. Honestly this would have been no big deal except while I was standing in the check out line paying for my other items I looked it up online and saw that online the same cookie jar was $9.99 and I could actually order it and pickup at a store. This is where the lack of customer service and rudeness were at its worst! I showed her that it was $9.99 online and asked if she could sell the non-broken on for that price. She said NO. How disappointing and honestly I felt rude! As a store manager she could have easily made a concession and sold it for the online price...it made no sense to me that she couldn't or rather wouldn't. Clearly she cared nothing about customer service. I walked out of the store and purchased it online and picked it up at the Scottsdale store. I may continue to shop WM, but it will not be at this location. read more

You want to know what I did?... I just missed out on a slew of great furniture finds. Upset? I would say so! But you know, I'm learning to be more responsible and not just fling my cash about, I had to sit and wait and make sure things were going to pan out the way they did. I do have regrets though, like an awesome 3-piece dining set that was only $175 that sold out fast... But even after the major furniture clearance event I was still able to find some great deals. Like a dog bed for my precious Alice-ma, and awesome room accents for the pretty much empty abode. I hope there is one of these closer to my new location, otherwise I will be doing a lot of fuel burning trying to get around to see whats at this CPWM! Even if its not a huge sale, at least being a member of their buyer program can get you a 10% off discount on everything stocked! read more

My fiancé went to pick up some clotted cream for me that I ordered online. There was a mix up with the order and his name was not saved for pick up. While he was waiting to speak to the manager, the police showed up at the store. As my fiancé was resolving the issue with the manager and the manager went to get the cream, the police approached them. The police reported they were called because someone who fit my fiancé's description (Hispanic, short black hair) was trying to steal an order. The manager nor my fiancé had any idea what was going on. An elderly, white employee stated that she felt threaded because he looked upset and she thought he was trying to steal the order so she called the police. The manager told the police there was no issue and they left. My fiancé is the sweetest, most patient person I know. He is an amazing high school teacher who dedicated everything to the kids he teaches and his life could have been ruined because someone felt threatened because the color of his skin. I am so disappointed and upset with the staff at this store. read more

I'm a huge fan of their wine section. They have a fantastic offering of wines from all over the world and at very reasonable prices. It's fun to walk down the isles and read about the different wines and learn about new ones from their knowledgeable staff. I could walk out of that places with boxes and boxes of wine, but I try to control myself as to not look like a crazy alcoholic. Beyond their wine offerings, they've also got a lot of great and affordable housewares. I've gotten quite a few furniture pieces here, and they always look expensive and durable but cost well below your standard furniture prices. It's also a great place for finding food brands from other countries, small food distribution companies and regional and local brands. Finally, they have a small but growing jewelery and accessories area that showcases hand-made items from locals in other countries. I love the theme of this place with gourmet snacks, coffee, tea, condiments, beer, wine, glassware, etc. Prices aren't bad either. The thing that holds this place back is the location in a small parking lot adjacent to Old Navy, and they keep all of their beer at room temperature. Since much of it is slow moving, that means it is at room temperature for a long time, which can easily result in bad beers. Customer service is usually good here for me. I'll continue going, but only at off-peak times to avoid the annoying Old Navy people that fill the lot. read more

I am very disappointed with this store. I ordered a table on line only to find out that they were canceling my order. I was told that there is a list of customers that had previously been waiting for the table. I don't have an issue with a customer placing an item on hold/list but they never should have placed the item available on line. When I asked if they could place my name on the list, they said I would have to walk into the store to have that done. I believe as a courtesy for canceling my order they could have least done this for me without having to drive to the store. read more

My wife and I have been shopping from the time they opened several years ago. I don't remember when that was but quite a few years ago. We have been fortunate to be able to travel and it is nice to have a place you can go and get some of the things you got while traveling. They have a good chocolate section where you can get chocolate from different countries. This can be seasonal and not always available. I don't drink much wine or beer but the selection seems to be good. The people that work there are quite knowledgable about what they have and if they are out or don't carry have been helpful in helping us find the product we were looking for. My experience has a been when I was looking for something and ask they just drop what they are doing and away they go with you helping you find what you need. If you have not been? I would never go with a specific purchase in mind since the store seems to have a completely different selection every time I've gone but it is fun to browse and find little treasures and gifts. Cassie the manager was the most hateful woman on a power trip of some sort. I normally don't write reviews but this has to be said. She stood there as I was checking out with my son and glared at me as she rudely told me to put my mask over my face. I quickly did cover my nose that was showing bc I was trying to use my facial recognition on my phone. She then just stood there as the cashier was helping me sign up for rewards which I had to bring down my mask to allow my phone to work again. She again said loud and rudely PUT YOUR MASK ON YOUR FACE! No please or hey I'm sorry I see as I stand here staring at you that you are showing your nose. So hateful! Every time I shop in this World Market on Bell Rd. in Peoria AZ, I have an amazing experience! All of the employees and managers are so helpful. I usually buy bottled drinks there, and they're always on high shelves. The staff are always quick to assist me in getting down merchandise I can't reach. Last time in the store, Jasmine helped me, and as soon as I loaded the bottles in my cart, Bradley came out from the back with a box to safely transport all the bottles home. I was so impressed, and that's considering the price of the drinks is cheaper at World Market than at competing stores! Oh, and they are much more reasonable than other retailers regarding honoring sales/coupons, and with returns. Love this store, their staff, and I can't wait for their seasonal food and decor for Halloween and Christmas!! read more

Every time I go to this particular costplus Imports World Market store I get the worst service. You would think in this economy they would go above and beyond. Today I really nice salesperson confirmed there was two cases in the back of the wine I was looking for and ask for a customer service rep named Jesse to get it from me in the back. She popped into the back for two minutes tops she came right back and said it wasn't there. The store was scheduled to close in 18 minutes what she was sure to remind me. I am certain she just didn't want to look for the wine. I was really disappointed because I went out of my way and rushed to get to the store to begin with. If she was honest I would have been fine with it but it was clear she wasn't. Every time I come to the store I get the worst service so I go out of my way and drive to the Happy Valley costplus or down to Camelback when I 8 minutes from this location. I can't even tell you the worst service I've had but I won't be back. read more
