I've never gone out of my way to ask any questions of the staff or make any requests, they seem friendly enough but certainly not falling all over themselves to be attentive, maybe they figured I wanted some space to browse. The name "NewSylum" cleverly bridges "Newtown" with the historical definition of "asylum" meaning a sanctuary or place of refuge. The taproom is housed in a beautifully restored, historic red brick colonial-style building. Customers can enjoy full table service inside the 9,000-square-foot space or relax in the extensive, dog-friendly outdoor seating areas.
