The name "NewSylum" cleverly bridges "Newtown" with the historical definition of "asylum" meaning a sanctuary or place of refuge. The taproom is housed in a beautifully restored, historic red brick colonial-style building. Customers can enjoy full table service inside the 9,000-square-foot space or relax in the extensive, dog-friendly outdoor seating areas. I've heard this area is full of paranormal activity if you're into that.
