First off the hours are…read moregreat, they are open from 10 AM to 8 PM Monday through Saturday and on Sunday from 10 AM to 4 PM. That's the barber hours I like. All these other barbershops have a weird funny hours. Some have days when they're open when they're not. Wendy's is always open and they do a great job. I got my haircut today by Wendy and let me tell you what she is amazing! I haven't had a haircut this good in years. She pays attention to detail, she makes sure all your lines are right, the job is perfect, fade is perfect, and she is very nice and pleasant to talk with. She makes the experience relaxing because she's not super heavy and hard with the clippers. She is gentle and does an excellent job! I recommend going with Wendy because she has cut my hair and I'm very very very happy! I found a new barber. I go way backfrom the days of Maggie and Mitzy and Yulianas in North Side and let me tell you what Wendy is better than all of them. I have been getting my haircut with Vidal of 34 street for the past 10 years but he goes out of town way too much and he is far. I am very happy I visited Wendys hair salon today and met Nelly. I had a particular style that I wanted with my hair in curls not too loose and not too tight. She took her time and made me feel more than at home. My hair normally doesn't hold curls well and it looked impeccable. Even after hours of pictures and dancing, when we got in the limo that night - my hair looked as good as it did when I left the salon! I don't wear a lot of makeup and she helped pick out great selections (especially waterproof mascara!) and the perfect shade of lipstick. It came to a point where she messed up on my French dip nails and I made a comment kindly and sent her the picture of the nails and said, " This looks a little messed up, but don't worry we can just fix it when I get back from Mexico." She was extremely rude about it and said that she was no longer going to do my nails just because she messed up and took it offensively; which is fine because there are other million nail places in Houston. Also, many times she would confirm an appointment with me and I had to wait because she was still working with another client and one of the times I had to wait almost an hour yet she would always text me and tell me to be on time. I always thought she was a kind person but I guess overtime you get to know peoples true colors. this one other time I was discussing with her how I wasn't doing so well mentally, and she took it in a way that was so weird that she wouldn't book an appointment with me until I was, "better". With me getting my nails done has nothing to do with my mental health, if anything I loved getting my nails done and that makes me happy and for her to say that made me feel very uncomfortable and I found it very offensive/odd. I now go Gloss nails and they do an absolutely amazing job. It's not the same price she would charge me but the quality is 100 times better. Mary isn't the best nail tech, so I highly recommend Gloss nails or King's nails in Pearland. I never pictured myself making this review about her, because I always found her as a kind person but because she messed up (more than once) and I kindly told her about it, and her attacking me through text was shocking. Overall Salon Loft has many other inside stations where they do hair and such which I have found to be pretty interesting. I've never tried (only my nails), but from what I've seen the people who work there are nice. I just ended up having a really sad and horrible experience with her at the end. I chose Michaelyndon because I love having my makeup done by Donna Abate, and I learned this was where she was currently working. I scheduled a facial + derma blade. The facial was great, but when she did the derma blade, she scraped into my hairline, essentially shaving the whole front of the hairline. I discovered this when my friend's 4 year old daughter kissed my forehead a couple weeks later and said it "cut her". The grow-out process has been a nightmare. I was already struggling with all of my hair being super short due to the last stylist. Now I am dealing with my hairline being an inch long, which is an absolute nightmare when you have fine, curly, frizzy hair. There is nothing I can do to keep it smooth. I hate leaving negative reviews but this few seconds of carelessness has led to daily frustration that I did not need. I was already struggling with my self-esteem and this was unnecessary. In addition, she asked if I had been going to (my former esthetician) previously. Apparently they had spoken about me before I came in. I don't know how they got to talking about me. I don't know if they were talking about their new clients or what. It was very weird to me and now I'm afraid to get a facial in Houston. Donna still does a great job with makeup, though, so I factored that into my rating.

I am currently in Houston to treat stage 4 pancreatic cancer. My hair started falling out by the handful. ( I knew it would eventually ) I just couldn't take it anymore and had Arlette cut it all off. She was awesome! Keeping up a steady flow of conversation and cutting my hair in 3 stages to help with the shock of seeing it all hit the floor. Not only that- we shared a hometown. We are both from Seattle.
