I can't really give 1 star because I used these guys for a year. Initially they came from a home warranty, but then we worked out a monthly deal for the same price. They did a decent job. Showed up every month as scheduled, but as time progressed, their work became very sloppy. I had to clean up after them every time. They would leave cuttings all over the lawn and in the shrubs. They left a wheelbarrow load of rubbish under the shrubs every visit. They even cut our clothes line down without even a phone call! They left weed killer stains on our patio. But the worst was that they would blow big swaths of our small rocks into the lawn, leaving large bare spots all over the back yard. Essentially, they just did a very poor job overall. I would call to complain and the receptionist would say the same thing over and over...that she was so sorry and that the supervisor would call me to rectify the situation. But guess what? He never called. Which was the last straw after they cut our clothesline and didn't bother to even mention it. So I cancelled service. If I'm cleaning up after them every visit, why am I paying them? Yes, they are cheap but they do cheap work. read more

Wow! Contracted by OneGuard Home Warranty service, Yard Doctors was amazing today. They called to let us know they were just running a few minutes late. Lexy, who oversaw the job , took time to verify what work was needed, was extremely accommodating for add-on work that took easily an extra half hour and was so pleasant and professional. She showed us how we can hopefully save a few of our plants too. Recommended. read more

Great company, they came out to my home and did an amazing job. The owner came and took extreme measures to make sure everything was done correctly. he climbed on my wall to get the hard to reach bushes. Above and beyond customer service, they were done in an extremely fast rate and could not have been more pleased. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone who is looking for a great yard crew. Stop looking and go with the pros. read more

Updated review after company changed management: Since there has been new management to take over Yard Doctors I have noticed a decline in quality service. My bushes have been poorly trimmed, in one instance the branch debris were left still hanging down from the bush. I also recently found two of my sprinklers no longer working. One of the sprinklers appears chewed by a mower and the other is missing a head and inner part completely. While out of town I contacted them to delay my yard service by one week due to my being out of town and not wanting anyone on property, I was told in order to do this I would need to be charged an additional "clean up" fee because there would be more work to do. I was told that this is policy. This is completely unacceptable and ridiculous. A one week delay is not going to create enough significant growth to warrant an extra charge. When I called to cancel service today due to the poor quality, they were barely bothered at the report of poor service. I was also informed that due to the drive time and how far my home is from their other customers, my price per service would increase significantly. I gladly canceled my account. read more

first off-this was either the 3rd or 4th time they've been at our home through our home warrenty for a "spring" clean-up. You're wondering-if you gave them 2 stars why do you keep calling them? Because the other times they did a 4 star job! This time the original gentlemen didn't come-3 other men did. I left my husband at home and got a haircut and came home to a mess! They turned every one of one type of cactus into "pineapples" and left broken pieces of the leaves everywhere! Our shrubs, which my husband asked them to trim down about a foot were butchered. cut off all the green and flowers and the remains are now so shocked that I doubt they'll "come back"! I don't know why the performance was so different this time. They were very courteous but the yard looks dead, stupid and my husband still had to rake up the leftover branches and leaves... read more

I have used them twice to complete the yard maintenance as a service provided through One Guard Home Warranty. The same lead has been at my home and did exactly as requested each time. Never a problem nor any issues. Clean up of debris met our expectations. Will use them again in a few months. read more

I found Yard Doctors through One Guard maybe 18 months ago. I have used them 3 times off contract and referred the several times. And most recently referred them to do my mom's house in Sun City. My Mom's place is in great shape and the yard was maintained 6 months ago so just some tree trimming and a little bit of clean up. They did show up on time and then the problems started Mom had specifically asked at the time of appointment to have a palm trimmed and they had given a price range that she was willing to pay. The team that showed up not only did not bring a ladder but also told my mom that they were "afraid of heights". Then they refused to trim several branches as they were too big. Another 2 could not be trimmed as they did not have enough room on their truck to carry them away. When asked they did cut the branches but did not haul them out to the curb for my (68-year-old) mother. They completely ignored 25% of the yard and upcharged for a specific tree again leaving the debris for my mother to clean up. When I contacted the Owner with this information he did in fact send the crew back out....and the team picked up a branch and left the rest incomplete again. Anytime you have to pay extra, call the owner 2 times and still pay an additional landscaper to finish the job, then it was not a good experience. I will not recommend again. read more

Yard Doctors have been great for years, but they have let my yard slip recently. I found out today that they are under new ownership. Nate Mazanowski with Amazing Outdoor Services, a Tampa FL based company has bought them and it doesn't look good for their clients. I had pulled weeds and cut down dead bushes and vines that the crew had been overlooking and the crew said they "weren't allowed" to haul it away! They also advised me that their new owner has plans to raise all of our rates. So let me get this straight... I pay you to maintain my yard. You don't keep up on it, so I have to step in and do it myself then you have the audacity to refuse to haul away one bag of trimmings AND you plan to increase my rates?! Mr. Mazanowski was on the phone with his crew several times while they were here but when I asked to speak to him directly, he refused. It is my understanding that the company had 175 clients when he bought it and they are already down to 130!!! This type of practice may fly in Florida but if you better step up your customer service game if you want to compete out here! Too bad. Yard Doctors WAS a great company with reasonable prices, but not anymore. I'm taking my business somewhere else, and I would advise you to do the same. read more

I used Yard Doctors as part of my One Guard warranty for a semi-annual cleanup. I've used them once before, except this time the bushes had just gotten away from me over the summer and it was a big job! Both time's I was really satisfied with the end result. Hunter and Bryan were guys on my yard and they worked quickly and efficiently and everything looks good now. My only concern was there was scheduling issue and the office person really didn't communicate the problem they were having in a timely manner. However, on the whole I'm very satisfied and will probably start using them on a regular schedule to stay on top of the landscaping. read more
