There were popular brands with a large selection from each such as Fableism, Ruby Star Society, Sarah Hearts, etc. I ended up with some gorgeous deadstock cotton seersucker, out of my comfort zone but very special. One critique is that their bottomweight and coating section was fairly limited, but I'm assuming that they were slowly transitioning into Spring/Summer choices at that time. Everything felt high quality and intentionally selected, not at all like the big box stores. Pricing was on-par with most independent stores - not cheap, but worth it. I hear that they have sales every once in awhile so I will be on the lookout. The day I went, it was absolutely packed! The parking lot is relatively small so you might have to get lucky or circle around a few times when you visit.

The associate who helped us (blonde hair, and I really wish I remembered her name) was calm, patient, and genuinely kind the entire time. She didn't turn it into an argument or make anyone feel talked down to. Instead, she immediately offered solutions: replace the paper or give us a refund. They didn't have the exact Arches paper my dad wanted to swap to, and she still went above and beyond by offering to call Blick and initiate an online return for us on the spot. That level of patience and customer service is rare. In the end, my dad decided to just keep the paper, but I left impressed with how well she handled everything. Big thanks to her and the Seattle team.

No one finished their work (class was 3 hours, but I think we really only stabbed for 2-2.5 due to yarn selection and general instruction time), but you could bring your project and tools home along with any yarn needed. Elliott Bay is by far one of the best bookstores you can visit in Seattle for literary lovers or…read morethose just looking to chill and stay dry. Street parking will be your best here and there is a good amount of it around the area. Inside, they have a very spacious setup with books organized nicely by genre. Prices here are very reasonable and their selection is pretty diverse. You could definitely spend a good couple hours here just perusing everything. If you are ever looking for a book in the Seattle area, this spot should be first on your list!

Visiting Seattle it was my mission to check out local bookstores and as soon you enter Elliot Bay Book you are greeted with shelves and shelves of books. It can overwhelming but it was really nicely organized, I was looking for a specific book I just finished on my e-reader and wanted to get a trophy, I searched and couldn't find it so came up to a book buyer and they mentioned that didn't have any in stock. Everyone was super friendly and they even had a cute little cafe in the book store but I opted not to get anything, which was a shock for me. Definitely want to come back it's just so beautiful in there.
