Our first time at Yasaka was absolutely amazing! We came to try their all-you-can-eat sushi and ramen and it completely exceeded our expectations. Our server, Kristo, was the absolute best. He was so attentive, kind, and quick with everything. You can tell he really knows the menu because he gave us the best recommendations and helped us decide what we should try. Every suggestion he made was spot on. The all-you-can-eat experience is awesome because you get to try a little bit of everything. Every roll we ordered was fresh and delicious, and it made the whole experience really fun. I honestly loved everything we had and the ambiance was beautiful. It's also really cool that this is the only place in New Braunfels offering all-you-can-eat sushi and ramen, which makes it such a unique spot to visit. We visited for dinner, and my family chose the all-you-can-eat option. I have a tiny appetite, so I asked to order à la carte. Our server was adamant that the entire table must choose the same option, either all-you-can-eat or à la carte. I let my family know I could not reasonably eat enough to justify the all-you-can-eat, so they agreed to order à la carte, though they were disappointed. This policy does not make sense. It pressures some guests to overeat and prevents others from ordering based on their own appetite. Not everyone feels compelled to eat excessively, and no one should be pushed in that direction. It ignores individual and medical needs, including people managing eating disorders or other health conditions that require careful control of intake. Requiring someone to participate under those conditions feels as unreasonable as expecting someone with a drinking problem to consume alcohol just to match the table. Simply put, it's a ridiculous policy. It limits flexibility and makes the experience uncomfortable for everyone. The food was decent. However, we will not be back. read more

I was stoked to see a new AYCE place was opening closer to me, and I'm very glad we stopped in! On a Monday evening that fell onholiday, we were able to find a seat almost immediately (at the bar so we could watch a game). While service was a bit slow starting off, it was understandable with a change in the servers. Everything else went smoothly and Yoga (I believe his name was) took care of us and was very attentive whenever we wanted to order our next round The sushi itself was pretty good. Not the best I've had by any means, but the portion sizes (especially for the speciality rolls) were very filling and the flavors were great. I was very pleasantly surprised that they had delicious ramen bowls - the kimchi beef ramen was so tasty and welcome on a cold evening. Prices are comparable to other AYCE places I've been to. The only reason I'm docking a star is the dessert was extremely underwhelming. We ordered vanilla ice cream with tempura banana and were disappointed to my handed ice cream still in its cup (and very poor quality at that). The tempura banana was also not very appetizing, which is a shame because everything else was delicious. Showed up on a busy Saturday for dinner and the wait was about 15 minutes. Both waiter and hostess that helped us were incredibly helpful and very friendly. We started with the spicy edamame (not pictured here), which I'd say was a bit bland but the spice definitely is a progressive slow burn. I would order again anyway. I also had the Karaage ramen and asked for spice. Honestly that's one of my top ramen places now. The noodles were buttery, I've never had that. The spice was perfect, the crispiness of the chicken as well. They were definitely not stingy with their portions. My fiancé had the spicy kimchi ramen and it was incredible. The broth in that was delicious. I'll be ordering that next time. We also shared the cowboy roll and holy moly it was great. It has Wagyu and jalapeños. It had great flavor. Mmm... Vian was our server. He was friendly & had a great attitude. We chose the all you can eat option & he was very prompt in between each order session. I've been to many AYCE places & it always feels like the servers take their time so they can run the clock out. It's not like that here. The restaurant was cool inside & seemed very clean. I really loved the Asian style decor, especially the little umbrellas hanging from the roof. All the sushi was really good, I wasn't happy about the handroll tho, they just took a massive handful of spicy tuna; slapped it on some rice & rolled it seaweed lol. But everything else was great. Even the Tuna Tataki & Habachi. We ordered 2 original mojitos after a couple rounds of food & they were very refreshing. I love that the bartender wasn't greedy with the mint since I enjoy eating it in between each sip lol. We will be moving to Indiana soon so I can't say I'll be back, but if/when we make it back this way, we will definitely add this to our pit stops. Great experience. Thank you. read more

My favorite Sushi spot so far in Texas! I got the all you can eat special ($35.99). Everything I got was delicious, so I'll just name off what I really enjoyed. The New Braunfels roll, Firecracker roll, and Kabuki roll are amazing! I got their sashimi which was surprisingly fresh, and I also ordered Salmon Tataki which was the best thing on their menu! Their drinks are really well made, I got a Lychee Martini ($15) and a bomb shot ($7), which is honestly an amazing price, as you can put in a shot of either soju or saki into any draft beer you want. The customer service here?? 11/10. My server was hilarious and made us laugh and enjoy talking to him. I wish my food was as good. I ordered the vegetable ramen. While I'm happy for the option. I wish it was seasoned more. Flavor profiles were lacking there. I loved having crispy tofu but had to dip it into soy sauce just to have some form of seasoning on it. I would go back! The karaage chicken arrived in small bits of chicken instead of regular sized karaage chicken bites. The shumai was small and the mussels were slightly overcooked. The location, parking, atmosphere, and friendliness are all 10 out of 10. The food portions are quite small except for the actual sushi rolls. The fish had some questionable freshness. We would definitely not recommend the San Diego roll. We asked for the Osaka role and apparently they were completely unavailable and did not have the ingredients to make it which is strange when that's what your restaurant is named after. The Takatsu Ramen was actually very good, but it definitely needed some Sriracha and soy sauce to deepen the flavor and to be a little bit hotter when served. For $32.99 which is the dinner price that starts after 3:30 PM, I would say that the price should be more like $28.99 instead. I'm not sure we got our moneys worth today. read more

You can order the buffet or a la carte. We preferred to order a la carte . The portions are ridiculous as a kid ration for the whole price.Less than a cup of rice and 3/4 ration of chicken for $18. If one wants to order a la carte all have to order a la carte , they couldn't order the buffet. They charge you if you leave food (what?). The only positive comment is the service is really nice and is the only restaurant open on Christmas day.I will never come back, hope they change. The rolls has 6 rolls included, instead of 8 . My twin girls wanted to celebrate their 15th birthday here with friends and family. We had a large party and the orders were taken and delivered very efficently. The food came out really fast and everyone loved their food. It was really good, almost as delicious as food we've had in Japan. To top it all off, the entire staff of like 12 people brought each of them a plate with a cake and a firework shooting sparks up at least a foot in the air. They all sang happy birthday and one guy played a ukelele. It was the best happy birthday from a restaurant I've ever seen. I highly reccomend this place. This is the best sushi spot in town right now. The seaweed in the rolls is perfect - not chewy, not too thick. The rolls are nice and tight, no spill out unless you use chopsticks like a toddler. The food came out very fast. I was there at dinner time and they were pretty busy so we had to remind them about one of our rolls but they corrected it very quickly. We had appetizers, rolls and drinks and they were all top notch. I didn't try the ramen yet but the table next to me had some and I thought about asking for a slurp. This is 100% just based on food and not service as the store just opened and is busy. Ambiance is nice and patrons are very much of the New Braunfels flavor. Edamame came out well salted and was quite perfect. Miso soup was flavorful and nice. We ordered the Hawaiian roll and the red dragon roll. Both had enough spice, but not overly spicy red dragon roll was crisp in the Hawaiian roll hit our desire perfectly for a raw sushi experience. My two year-old daughter ate two helpings of the Gyoza so it's safe to say it was a hit as well. I'm not a huge fan of ramen but the tonkotsu ramen had me really enjoying the price tag. I wish I had more room to put more food away as everything was good. 100% will be back. Maybe more of a special occasion visit vs and any day weekly meal. read more

The only thing that was actually good at Yasaka was the sushi. Unfortunately, everything else was very disappointing. The yakisoba portion was extremely small, and the shrimp had absolutely no flavor. I ordered shrimp and chicken, but the waiter forgot to add the chicken and didn't bring it out until after I had already finished my plate. The same thing happened with another shrimp order as well. On top of that, the waiter messed up about three orders total and seemed completely overwhelmed and all over the place. The restaurant overall felt very disorganized, and the staff management was very chaotic.
