We would also like to give a special shout out to Chelsea, our project manager in 2020, for being incredibly helpful and responsive during our hardwood floor installation while we were out of town. Chief pointed out several deficiencies and made several relatively minor repairs that fixed the problems. I needed a new roof on my own residence and quotes from a couple of highly rated companies. Chief Roofing gave me a good price. It's winter, and it took a while for the shingles to come in and for there to be time to do the job. This week they did the whole roof in two days. I'm very happy, with one exception--in one of my gutters I found a lot of debris that they overlooked when they were cleaning up. It's a great roof!

Rather than feeling like a customer whose concerns mattered, I felt dismissed and talked down to. A salesman representing a roofing company should be knowledgeable, professional, respectful, and willing to answer reasonable questions without becoming argumentative or condescending. Unfortunately, that was not my experience with Christian. Based on my experience, I would not recommend working with Christian Salinas. I strongly recommend getting multiple estimates, asking detailed questions, and making sure everything is documented in writing before signing anything. When the AC still wasn't working well, I called another company. That tech removed the top, showed me all of the dirt and ice there that hadn't been cleaned out by Regan & Son. Once he finished, the AC worked great, but I had to pay another $200. Don't know if Regan & Son was trying to run up the bill, or lazy or incompetent, but I called twice and asked to speak to the owner so I could ask for a partial refund, was told I'd get a call back, but that never happened. Moon's just finished redoing the floor in my Spirit Room (kept for spiritual matters). Years ago a…read morewater heater located within the wall of that room's closet had leaked and caused the floor to bow. Unfortunately two (or was it three?) rounds of handymen had failed to fix it. Two years ago I had the house renovated and had given specific instructions for the people to straighten and repair the floor in there before laying down the new stuff. They did not. I was surprised that Moon's said they'd have to take out a large strip of floor tiles or whatever they're called when they're vinyl, even though the dip was about six square feet, but okay. The strips have grooves in the sides that can't just be ripped out and replaced. Then it turned out they had to redo the entire room! But whew, that explained the estimate they'd given me. Instead of hair-raising, it now sounded quite fair. I found a box of leftover planks and prepared for them. They helped me move out the remaining large stuff that I hadn't counted on having to be removed. When they got through the usable planks, we discovered the box o' planks was for the attached studio and not the room and didn't match, so a second crew had to come back with a new supply of planks for the entire room, since they'd been unable to match or even come close to what I'd had. Same estimate; okay. Well, they didn't order QUITE enough, but the third crew and a new box were able to finish the job! The room is GORGEOUS. The planks they chose are alike enough to the rest of the house that if you aren't looking for it, you don't notice the difference. They replaced the quarter-round with matching oak quarter-round instead of the white stuff that had been there before. Classy! The floor is now SMOOOOOOTH, no dip. I am so satisfied! Would recommend them.

I hired Aluminum Company of NC do replace all my windows and entry doors -- a project that was LONG…read moreoverdue. I'd done a lot of research into replacement windows -- what to ask when interviewing companies, what a quality installation looks like, which windows are the best quality. I'd been saving up for eight years for this because I wanted quality -- and it isn't always the name brands you know that are the best. I chose this company for these reasons: 1) Reputation. The company has been around since 1961 so they aren't going anywhere. 2) I researched the brand and type of window they install to verify quality and these were recommended by more than one person. 3) I asked about the install itself -- who measures, to what detail do they measure, type of caulk, how they insulate. And they never once treated me like "the clueless little woman." The rep respected that I did this due diligence and even gave me MORE information about their installation process, which I double checked, and yes, it is above and beyond. 4) The payment plan was simply unbeatable. 5) They gave me a DETAILED quote AND personal references. Other companies I spoke with did not. Communication was impeccable. It was a wait of a few months, but they kept in touch. Installation took only 3 days for 19 windows and 4 entry doors. These guys work FAST, without sacrificing attention to detail. When we had a mishap with one of my cats escaping the "safe space" they worked with me until I could corral him into another safe space. The crew chief, Chris Riley, is personable and managed the job well. The work site was left CLEAN. The full screens I asked for were installed later, and they're great. I had many windows that hadn't been opened for years because of being painted shut, nor had they been cleaned well. Now I can clean my own windows, the draftiness is gone and I am comfortable because that this company stands by its work. I am an anxious person. This was the biggest job I've ever had done where I didn't already know the person doing the work. They dealt with my anxiety beautifully and kindly. I have already recommended this company to others and will continue to do so.
