Really Good Chicken. I eat here at least once a week and love their chicken. On a Salad, just the wings and legs with their BBQ sauce, chopped up on a pita, or right off the bone. They cook the chickens whole, on large grill grates right behind the counter and chop the pieces off as you order. Pretty cool. Salad is decent, sides are pretty good. Their Pita bread and honey butter is great. Not the best location - they are currently going through a remodel. The staff there is OK, but not really friendly - sometimes they just seem sad to be working. You guys have great chicken - cheer up! read more

Yaya's was my favorite but I haven't been there in a couple of years until today. They now have pre-packaged butter instead of their homemade honey butter and they have pre-packaged dressing. It is not as good as it was before the change and their prices are really expensive for what you get. I was going to get a large salad and pita bread w/butter and it was $12.52 so I switched to the small salad. That was $8.50 and it was just lettuce and a small scoop of chicken. I am so disappointed- I used to always get a chicken Caesar salad from YaYa's and enjoyed it- was a nice go to decent fresh fast food meal. The last few times the salads have been terrible - not edible. I tried one today and unfortunately it will lol be my last - paid extra for double chicken and double dressing - both of which I did not get - but I did get a huge heaping helping of croutons which I wanted only a few. The chicken was so hard and dry, I choked. The lettuce was not fresh at all. And when did they stop putting in a pita bread with your salad ? Paid almost $13 and had to throw it out. So unfortunate since the concept is great and back in the day these salads were good. I gave it a few try's but it just is not the same. Save your money. read more

An issue almost every time I go in here. Typically it's incorrect/inadequate food but today I placed a whole order they handed me my food then the cashier told me that their credit card system hadn't responded (I have the receipt in my hand so I'm confused?). I only gave it one star because, I had to give it something. I just moved back to Michigan and , I heard Yaya's was bought by new people. I just couldn't resist the thought of flame broiled chicken. It was so disgusting I couldn't eat the chicken breast. It was like cold chemical dipped rubber and, when I walked in I couldn't even smell the chicken on the grill. I think all off the chicken I saw on the grill were props. I can't eat here anymore. So sad it was a landmark. I grew up eating there. read more

It was lunchtime, I had the spicy asian salad, my friend had the club salad. Both were very good. It is a "fast food" type atmosphere, basically self serve with plastic silverware, etc. I would give it 2 for atmosphere. But the food itself was very good, the chicken on the salad was maybe slightly overcooked, but on a salad that was just fine. I love the fact that they are grilling their chicken rather than frying it, which increases the restaurant's expense due to production time and scrap rate. On 10-28-19, I placed an order at your store for a chicken salad (cold shredded) with lite lettuce and extra chicken. When I arrived home I noticed there was no extra chicken on my salad which prompted me to call the location. The person who answered the phone said they have a new person and she was just learning salad prep and she didn't put it on my salad. She went on to say that I could bring it back and they could remake it or I could get my money back. As this was an inconvenience to me and this location is not near me, I chose to return to that location. When I arrived I aske for what I thought was an easy fix was for them to just add the extra meat on to my salad but I was informed that since I took the salad out of the store they had to remake it. I agreed to it. The cashier got into a debate with me about what constitutes extra meat and she decided that she would go over and remake the salad. She then shows me a scoop that she says they use to measure the meat and the extras which I said I have seen them use like a white cup and scoop the meat. So we went back and forth and I just finally said just give me back my money. I told her I have went to several Yaya's and I hadn't had any issues with my request and even at this store. I described to her the person at this store that has done it and she replied that was the manager and what she does is something she can do. As she went back to her register to get my money, the phone rings and it is a customer apparently she is very familiar with. He was calling in a request for chicken. I heard the conversation from her end and apparently she was going above and beyond for him. Apparently he was asking about the quality of the chicken and she said that she would make sure he didn't get any burnt pieces. She asked him if he wanted mash and veggies which he must had replied yes. She asked him if he was coming up and which he must have said yes again. She said we will see you then! I said so I guess you may do special requests for certain customers. She said he comes here all the time and they know him. She also added that they don't give out free food. I said I come here a lot too and I wasn't asking for anything that I didn't pay for. So I called this morning (10-29-2019) talked to the manager to discuss my experience with her. She was not helpful at all and she completely failed in appeasing my customer complaint. I told her about the salad error. The conversation with a man which she felt compel to explain to me that this customer is a special needs customer with delicate stomach issues and they usually makes sure that his food is just so and they take his food out to the car for him. I said that's commendable but I am a customer that was dissatisfied with what happened at her store and the best she could do was justify the behavior of her staff and the special treatment they extend to another customer who was not in the store??? She said there was nothing more she could do since I got my money back. I said WOW!! You missed out on retaining a customer. I got the corporate phone number and called there. Again, I was totally surprised. I thought someone surely would understand what I was trying to convey but once again I was wrong. The bookkeeper said she would write down my complaint and pass it on the GM there was nothing else they can do, I did get my money back. I outlined in my complaint that it was NOT about the money for if that was the case, I wouldn't have went there in the first place. It is more than that!!! It is about customer service and retention! This was such a disappointment and I can't honestly say I won't patronize Yaya's any more but I will be looking my orders over carefully before leaving there. Omgggg, why were there about 20 raw chickens on the grill not even cooked !!!! The chicken looked old and dried out as if the chickens had been out all morning !!!! Ya Ya's used to be a great place to eat. Went there on Friday and ordered a two piece thigh and leg with cole slaw and paid close to 7 bucks. Complete rip off for two tiny pieces of chicken. I can buy a whole rotisserie chicken at Sam's club for 5 bucks! This place has become a total dive. I remember how reasonably priced and how delicious the food at Ya Ya's used to be in the 1980s and 90s. Avoid this place! There once famous dressing is now processed and packaged. In addition, the cashier was impatient and did not have a pleasant attitude. A couple of grilled chicken pieces should not be this expensive. I will not be going back! read more

I've always ordered to go and can't fully rate the atmosphere but have had some issues sith ordering in the past. Not the friendliest service but as others gave said, the food is usually good no matter what you order. The chicken has great flavor and the pita and sides are always on point too. read more

I have been going to Yaya's for years! I recently visited Yaya's and ordered my usual, a chicken salad. Every time I get a chicken salad from Yaya's, they are typically very generous with the chicken. This time when I go home to eat my salad, I opened the box and there was very few chicken. The chicken looked like crumbs of chicken. I called to complain and the lady told me that I must've ordered the "shredded chicken salad" as to why the chicken looked like crumbs of chicken. I told her that I ordered the same salad that get every time I come. When I went back the next day to speak to a manager, I asked what time they normally break down the grill because I came in about a hour and a half before they closed the day before and everything was broken down and they had the leftover chicken in a container that they scooped onto my salad. I was told that they break down the grill 2-3 hours before closing. My thoughts are that they were trying to preserve chicken for other potential customers since they broke the grill down so early. Customer service sucked!! They didn't even care about my complaint. They blamed it on the new people they hired. Sounds like they need to do a better job training. Third time trying since they changed ownership. i purchased a 8 piece family pack w/extra pieces. Chicken was obviously cooked yesterday. I realized I didn't see them take the chicken off grill and cut like the old days. That was waste of money. Will definitely not return. read more
