My husband and I stayed here for our babymoon and it was perfect in every way. Wonderful hosts and a delicious breakfast every morning. The decor and grounds are beautiful, we especially enjoyed the indoor pool!

Where shall I start? The innkeepers treat you like family. The property is spacious, meaning you're not bumping into the other guests all the time. It has a heated pool. Very nice. Location is not far from Lake Geneva and the breakfast is wonderful. They veg friendly so that made my tummy happy. We definitely recommend and go back again.

Pristine indoor pool with gardens right outside

I really wanted to give this cute place a higher rating. I went for a weekend with my sister and…read morewas not thrilled. Positives: Decor: the place itself was quaint and very well decorated with pieces from the time. Nature - my favorite part was the beautiful walk though the woods on property just feet from the house. Stunning. Negatives: Bed was under 5 feet long! Since I'm 5'5", it was a terrible night of not sleeping. I couldn't lie on my back as I usually do, because my feet needed another 6-12" of space. Curled on my side could have worked if the mattress didn't sag so much. I stayed in a room that calls this bed a 3/4 bed online. No explanation of what that means. I googled it and found that 3/4 beds are normal length but between a twin and a full. That is not what this bed was. After our stay, I emailed the owner and asked her to update the listing with more information so I could give it a better review. She said she would but that was almost two months ago. The review still states that 3 people could stay in that room, which would only be true if one of the people were 4'6" or shorter. Breakfast was not what I'd have expected from a b&b. First, I'm used to being able to sit at a table near other couples but not be forced to be at the same table as we were here. Half a nice grapefruit was a good start. Then some slices of store bought krugel. Fine. But then no eggs. No savory portion. Just straight from the store bought coffee cake to some kind of French toast which seemed mostly just bread and sugar. She asked who eats sausage. I don't but then there was no protein replacement which was fine but not ideal. Also, breakfast isn't served until 9a which seemed quite late to me.

Such a gem! Very clean throughout the inn, friendly and knowledgeable proprietor, and wonderful…read morefood for breakfast. Very interesting history. Great trails around and wonderful restaurants.

Like so many, my wife and I were ready for a respite from our COVID-19 exile. Two nights at the…read moreelegant Hamilton House was just what the doctor ordered! Built in the 1860s and a stop on the Underground Railroad, the spacious, high-ceilinged HH exudes history and charm. Innkeeper and owner Gloria Buley greeted us warmly; I like to think I could see her smile through the surgical mask she was wearing. Our well-appointed room had a comfy king bed and a recently remodeled en suite. The wardrobe contained two plush bathrobes; a small table held bottles of Perrier, chocolates, fresh flowers, and two surgical masks. Like our room, the inn's common areas are immaculate and tastefully furnished with period antiques and Oriental rugs. Our two breakfasts were highlights! Gloria's a CIA culinary school grad and it shows. Fresh-squeezed OJ, omelettes, French toast, baked apples, sausages, Canadian bacon--whew, I don't eat nearly this well at home. Breakfast was also a chance to get to know Gloria. A recent transplant from Woodstock, NY, she purchased the Hamilton House weeks before the coronavirus shut down the world. I'd be down in the dumps, but Gloria seems indefatigable and is using the time to, among other things, install a garden walk that will pay homage to the nearby Birge Fountain, circa 1903. We're already looking forward to our next visit! A tip: One of Wisconsin's best supper clubs, the Duck Inn in Delavan, is a 15-minute drive from the HH.

This gorgeous 1861 mansion is exquisite, perfect down to the last detail. The multi-course breakfasts, created by innkeeper (and Culinary Institute-trained chef) Gloria, were off-the-charts delicious and kept my belly full til dinnertime, even after a day spent hiking the gorgeous Kettle Moraine. I slept deeply on the luxurious comfy bed, but I'd eat saltine crackers and sleep on a cot to hear Gloria's stories! Gloria has a talent for being present but never intrusive. She'll give you a house tour with fascinating tidbits (from John Belushi to the Underground Railroad!) but ask about her journey from Woodstock NY to Whitewater WI for a rollicking story with a happy ending!
