We love this local place. Always friendly faces. Food is good, drinks are good. They have machines and pinball. Plenty of parking.

Super cool place tucked out of the flow of traffic with a beautiful view of Turtle Lake. Our server, Jaylean, was absolutely amazing! Friendly, attentive and prompt! The Old Fashions were yummy, especially the first one made by the older gentleman wearing a green hat..... that was definitely delicious! Love this little place. Right on the lake, tables outside by the lake, cool vibe. Campers everywhere, as it is a pub in a campground! Are you surprised? I am not. Food is also pretty good considering it's a campground joint. I would come here on a nice day just to be in the environment. Do you want a few cocktails and a decent meal? Check it out. The new owners have no clue how bad their "new" hires are. Saturday night bartender on 1/27 was drunk and didn't know what she did wrong. Blocked me from their Facebook page though I didn't post to the page but private messaged concerning the bartender not doing her job, kissing on her boyfriend, etc. If you want bad service go when Angeline is working, if you want great service go any other time. She took my husband's money put it in the tip jar though we were both there, thank GOD Natalie was there. Get a fnn' clue management, you let quality bartenders go and now have crap!! read more

I was looking for a place to camp between Rockford and Milwaukee, and stumbled across Snug Harbor on the web. Loved the tiered setup. Our camp site, Turtle Dove, was near the bathrooms AND had a view of the lake. We heard plenty of wildlife throughout our stay, from geese to coyotes to dogs to roosters, and probably some I am forgetting, but it was a welcome respite from our day to day city life. There seems to be quite a little community here as there was a chili competition going on in the restaurant, but we certainly felt welcome and look forward to coming back. If you get tired of roughing it, you can always pop in to the bar/restaurant on site for some people watching, especially during karaoke night. The camp sites near the restaurant do pick up a lot of the noise from the bar patrons when they head outside, which I learned after a night at tent site 404. read more

A true pub, medium background music, great acoustics , and easy to talk/hear friends. Had two Friday fish fry menu items. My bluegill was lightly breaded, 7 large pieces. The baked potato was consumed at lunch the next day. My friend had the baked cod with potato pancakes. He said it was delicious. A pleasant surprise was receiving ample brownies for dessert We both commented that we wanted to return soon, very soon. read more

Very unique campground layout with tiered grounds. We were at site Snapper 3. I loved it! I didn't mind that we had to walk up a steep hill to get to the site. It had a huge canopy tree that helped keep out fire going during scattered rain. This was my first time camping here, but I have been to the restaurant and bar multiple times. They do a great fish fry and great servers, but for some reason the bartenders have always seemed lacking in hospitality. Beware: You will be woken up by a rooster at 6AM, and he will be Cock-a-doodle-doing until 10AM. The turtle dove campsite looked awesome. read more

If you are looking for friendly service, good food and a relaxing atmosphere with beautiful views of the lake, then this is the place for you! This is also a campground so they do not only cater to the locals, they treat everyone from all over with the same friendly service. Spending a relaxing afternoon having lunch on the deck feels like a mini vacation for me, (a local). Stop by for a football game just once and you will have an experience that will keep you coming back again and again! I highly recommend the prime rib sandwich and sweet potato fries... The fish fry here is incredible! We have gone for lunch and dinner many times. So far we have yet to find something we don't like. Karaoke is always a lot of fun on Saturdays too. The staff is always friendly and nice. They are knowledgeable prompt. This is our favorite place in the county...plus you can't beat the view of the lake. We haven't camped yet, but its on the list of things to do! You definitely want to check this place out! read more

My family and I went for a Friday fish fry a couple weeks ago. They were really busy. The cook brought out our fish fry's and his hands and fingernails were just filthy. You could see the dirt under his fingernails, it was just gross. His clothes were dirty especially his stained jeans. After seeing the cook, you wonder how dirty is the kitchen! What a fantastic place for lunch or dinner or more! We are on the deck and the service was exemplary! Everyone was taken well care of and the food and drink was great. Don't expect something incredibly fancy from these folks, but that's not what we wanted anyways. Friendly locals, fair prices and a great view of turtle lake makes this a cozy retreat for walworth county residents and out of towners too! read more

My wife and I stayed here for a weekend after we discovered it while having a disaster weekend at another campground. On the scale of things, we wish we had been here that weekend. The site was at the waterfront and while we didn't take advantage of that, we did just enjoy that we finally had a waterfront site. I can't say our view was scenic, the lake does not allow for that, but still, it was nice to be at a waterfront site. Staff was friendly at check in and gave good advise on how to get our RV into the site. The site was clean and it was great having sewer hook up at the site and we didn't need to worry about filling up the storage tanks. We understand the higher price per night, based on that factor alone. If I were to have one thing that needs to be worked on, it would be what I say to many private campground owners. If you are going to state on your 'rules' that a quiet time starts at a particular time, then please, be sure to enforce it. Have someone get in a cart and drive around. Listen to your campground. Quiet time is needed, but it is useless unless someone enforces it. It was pretty noisy late at night, even at midnight, 2 hours after the so-called quiet time started. We even experienced a group that was at a permanent site up very late cackling until late hours. We later learned that one can rent the camper and site. And the college kids at the top of the hill kept the party going late. I can only imagine what this place is like when Jimmy Buffet is at Alpine Valley. At least that weekend comes with a warning; Parrotheads like to party. Otherwise, a nice place to stay. We didn't try to bar or restaurant. read more

This was absolutely the worst campground ever. Snug Harbor is NOT a family friendly place. This place is nothing but a big party. If you like to party, don't mind loud drunk people screaming all night then this is the place for you. We had two kids with us, we were put next to a large group that was swearing all night, we were right in front of the bar, we had the parking lot to our back and a group of extremely loud and drunk people in an RV in front of us. We were unable to get any sleep both nights due to the drunk and loud campers and local patrons of the bar. We had the RV people honking their horn in the middle of the night as well as yelling and being obnoxious. We had people in the parking lot with their headlights on just having a great time after the bar closed. They were playing music and being extremely loud. This campground is suppose to have an ENFORCED QUITE TIME ... that could be FARTHER from the truth. The only time it was quite was in the morning when all the drunk people were sleeping. We talked to another family and they had just as bad of a time as we did. The lady's 12 year old daughter learned about BJ's and how you can give them for a dollar. She had a drunk person run into her camper and actually shift it. As well as loud drunk people keeping them up all night. This place is nothing but a party place and camping in someone's backyard. The sites were tiny, the wood cost too much and burned quickly. I do NOT recommend this campground to anyone with kids or is looking to relax. This place is only for those who want to party and act like idiots. read more

My wife and I stopped for lunch while we were house hunting for our retirement home in the area. The staff was so friendly and welcomed us like we've been regular patrons for years. The beer was cold, the food excellent and they have some of the cleanest windows in the county. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a Mom & Pop Wisconsin Tavern that makes you part of the family. I looking forward to our next visit! read more

yes! first want to say , they have very friendly staff and excellent service! delicious bloody marys! when we got there friday night (stayed at the campground for PHISH Concerts saturday and sunday) were greeted by fellow staff members , they even had a sign "welcome phish fans" so i knew that this place was gonna be great! fish fry on friday night was awesome! also the drinks were inexpensive too! local residents were also friendly , Todd is cool , would highly recommend this place for anyone! read more

More like Swamp Harbor.............Terrible camp site, next to a channel that looks like a swamp and it shouldn't be called lakeside, more like swamp side, NOT dog friendly at all, the beach is NOT a beach, it's a sand volleyball lot that borders the lake and the swimming area is very small. Scenic Ridge Campground is 5 minutes away on Lake Whitewater and it's 10 times better with roughly the same price. read more

Horrible. I wish I could give this campsite no stars if I could. Completely disorganized staff, check in is at the bar so be prepared for that. Quiet hours are ridiculously early: 10pm according to the campers at the campground. Tent sites are HORRIBLE, all on slanted hills which will leave you slipping and sliding all night long. Will kick you out with NO WARNINGS whatsoever. Horrible campground, tiny campsites will be side by side to the next site with no space in between. DO NOT camp here. OH and be prepared to wake up to ROOSTER CALLS ALL MORNING! No sleeping in for campers, roosters start at 5am and do not quit! read more
