This place is great! It's a little gem tucked away just off the interstate on a back street. All the locals eat here as well, which is a good find anywhere. Arrived at 1 pm. Place was not busy. A girl came to get our drink order and said our waitress would be right with us. 20 minutes later, no waited ever came over. Another gentleman had also been sitting there the whole time we were, got up to tell the 2 girls at the register that no one had waited on him. He sat back down but neither of the girls told anyone. There is absolutely NOTHING special about this breakfast place. For months, I have been working out at Gold's Gym across the street and every morning on the weekends, I've noticed a HUGE amount of cars parked at this small restaurant. So it must be great, right? No, not really. We got here on a Sunday morning around 9am and were told there would be about a 20-25 minute wait for a table for 3. Well, we expected that since there were a ton of cars outside. Ok, so we finally get a table and we order right away. I got the Belgian Waffle with strawberries and whipped cream ($6.99). Now, I don't have a masters degree in Waffle-nomics, but I thought there was a clear difference between a regular American waffle and a Belgian waffle. Belgian waffles are prepared with yeast-leavened batter and are typically sweeter and darker and more dense and fluffy. They're also rectangle-shaped and sprinkled in confectioners sugar. These were none of those thing. It was a good ol' regular American waffle. Round, light in color, and airy. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious, but it wasn't a Belgian waffle! And it certainly wasn't worth 7 dollars. My wife got some eggs and sausage and those were nothing you couldn't do at home by yourself. The sausage was the same as Jimmy Dean's. We met an elderly couple and asked them if they ate here often. They said they came here all the time and they claimed this place was the best breakfast joint in town. The elderly man even went as far as to say "it's better than Cracker Barrel." What?? Are you kidding me, old man?!? Has dementia begun to set in?? I'm convinced now more than ever that Amarillo residents don't give a damn about taste - they only care that it's "local" and not a chain. I like local businesses, too - but let's be honest. You can't possibly tell me there's anything special about the way the food tastes here. Don't let your hometown pride confuse your taste buds. Chose this restaurant for breakfast for my husband and son who were driving cross country. It was the bomb!!! They loved it! My son had a burrito that was enough for 2 people! The Angus burger was not pre-made or pre-formed. The homemade sausage gravy on top of the homemade biscuits is unctuous!!! The omelet was fresh tasting and delightful. Been here for breakfast twice, ordered the same thing both times. The Texas Steak Omelet with "dollar size" pancakes. They say everything is bigger in Texas, and the "dollar size" pancakes are no exception. They almost take up the whole plate! I can usually clean my plate, especially at Breakfast, but it was a struggle to do so here. They also have an assortment of syrups, which is nice because I'm not very fond of Maple syrup which usually means I don't get pancakes. They keep the coffee flowing and the crowd moving. I have eaten here twice since moving here a few weeks ago. Both times Wendy has served me and both times she was exceptional. The coffee is good and the food is good and hearty. I have had an omlette, biscuits and gravy - so damn good. And get the green sauce - I am picky about salsas but this is a must have with eggs . Have not had the pancakes yet- that will come in a future visit. It does get busy here and the servers have a lot of tables to attend to - so you really can't get PO'ed about it- they all get to their tables so be a little patient. read more

This place is like a well oiled machine, seems to always be packed...a bit older but not many good breakfast/brunch options in town so that might be why it is always packed, plus I think it was on diners, drive ins and dives. I went once with the bf and coworker on a Sunday during their breakfast rush and waited about 30 mins. They have a drink person, waitress and busser....they all have head pieces on to communicate more efficiently as they take your orders and refill your drinks. I went back again with my mom and sis who were visiting on a Friday morning and it was still pretty crowded but no wait! Order off the senior menu...portions are more reasonable. They stopped selling their sweet rolls though, so we couldn't try that. The pancakes are touted to be the best in the WORLD. I am not sure about that, but they are pretty good...large and fluffy and come in many different flavor combinations. Definitely a portion size to share. The omelets are also good, biscuits and gravy and skillets. All in all, pretty good comfort food on a Sunday morning if you are hungover or if you are just really hungry. read more

This was a Yelp find for us as we use Yelp to research areas we travel to and through. The service was great despite it being very crowded and added to that a large number of people from the gun show. We were seated fast and had coffee and water as we were seated. The food we ordered was brought quickly and was hot and tasty. The portions were huge so you won't go away hungry! Five + on service food company, wow we walked in and told it would be ten minutes for a table. A gentleman sitting alone invited us to sit. Small world his son is also from Albuquerque. This place is so friendly to take it to the next level. The food was good from the biscuits and gravy to the stake and eggs to the Dutch boy pan cake. The wait is well worth it. We had a lovely experience here! Donetta was our waitress... she has apparently been working at this establishment for a while now. Everyone was so very friendly... it is so great to be back in The South after road tripping for a few days. I have to be honest and will say that I didn't expect much. I'm not one for pancakes and am a bit of a health nut ("Oh honey, there is high fructose corn syrup in that apple butter..." ... and there was, sadly.) so BOY was I surprised when my omelette tasted DAMN GOOD! Ordered a veggie with added bacon omelette + hash browns. Threw the salsa on top and it was good to go. Plus endless coffee? YAH! They also had organic oatmeal (no glyphosate pesticides in my oats, thank you!) for my son. Fresh fruit bowl for the little babe to munch with blueberries, bananas & strawberries. Good stuff! AND REAL REAL REAL MAPLE SYRUP. You better have real syrup if you are a pancake house. Otherwise you've discredited your viddles from the get-go. Stopped in Friday morning at 10:30 and had a 15 minutes wait! That must say something about the place. Waitress came quickly for drink orders and have us just the right amount of time to decide on breakfast. I ordered the eggs with French toast and sausage and hubby ordered the combination omelette. Everything came out in a timely manner and all cooked to perfection. Hubby said every bite had filling so he was very happy with that! Found this place on Yelp after spending a restless night in Amarillo. We found it easily and the parking is fine. Entry is a little confusing as there are different doors into different dining spaces. The people waiting are friendly though and helped us out. We were seated rather quickly. Nice waitress and the place is buzzing. We both had pancakes and they were delicious. Large and fluffy and exactly what you would want from pancakes.
