It was freezing cold in the restaurant! The thermostat was set at 56 degrees. I over heard three different customers complain about the cold. I ordered a half taco, half pepperoni pineapple pizza and a soda. The young woman at the register was too quiet for me to understand. The soda was all ice and was seriously watered down. The pizza came out about half hour later, and was terrible. No one cares about how the pizza turns out. It had a good appearance but you cannot judge a book by it's cover. The pizza didn't sit good and it was burnt on the bottom. For 30$ this date night turned out a disaster. Also! The plate that was given to me was wet and DIRTY! not once were we checked up on either. read more

Tried to go to this place while staying at a hotel nearby. Posted hours say open until 9, we walked in at 8:30 to order to-go and they said they closed early and couldn't serve us. I think you should be open for the hours you say, but if you close early you should lock your doors and turn off your open sign. It seemed like they just wanted to go home right at 9 and had cleaned up early. Not the best business model to use. read more

30 minutes to make a large pizza? Really. Like really? Toppings are subpar and all of the pizza is overpriced. If I'm paying 25 dollars for a large pizza it better blow my mind. Safe to say, it didn't and I'm never coming back. Go to dominos or Pizza Hut, same quality better prices. read more

Our family has been enjoying Ye Olde Pizza Shoppe's pizza for 40 years now! They used to be located in the mall, where Rue 21 is. I wanted to post something positive on here, as I was reading the reviews & they were terrible. The owner & his crew don't deserve the mean, hateful things some have posted about them. The owner has always been such a hard worker, kept his staff working, teaching them a trade. The pizza has always been delicious! I brought one home tonight and we enjoyed it as much as ever. As far as it looking like a biker bar, I've never really thought about it! Personally, I think it has a warm, friendly atmosphere! I did grow up in the 70's though and I'm rather fond on the old fashioned, retro look.. Try it! I think you will be delighted. Nice people and good food. Ye Old Pizza Shoppe is a gem of a restaurant. They have been in the Hermiston community as long as I have been in the area (about 15 years now) and have thrived because they know how to do it right. I have had pizza in Baltimore and Philly and these guys are comparable with any joint back there in my opinion. These pizzas are everything I like about pizza. Located off 395 across from Les Schwab, Ye Olde Pizza Shoppes latest home is located next to the motel there. The building isn't new, but it's excellent for a pizza shop. The downstairs portion is complete with booths from one end to the other. Seating is comfortable. There is a fresh salad bar is located down there. The atmosphere is more private. They also upstairs seating more akin to a sports bar complete with a bar service, tvs, and video games (which of course the kids spend all there time and my money at). They offer enough seating up here for small functions such as birthdays. It is a little more loud and lively. The waitstaff is above average and will go out of their way to make your experience enjoyable. Whenever I have had any issues they go out of their way to make it right. Even remaking a pizza that had onions (my kroptonyte) by accident, with no questions asked. This pizza is perfection. The crust would be considered a more regular or traditianal as opposed to thin or pan. It has been perfected to a great blend of crunch on the outside while moist and chewy in the middle. The sauce compliments the taste splendidly. They know how to put on the right amount of toppings to make everything work. The meat they get is from a meat shop in Pendleton and the sausage has outstanding flavor, but really all the meats are very tasty. They always put fresh ingredients (even fresh mushrooms if you ask). We have eaten there for years. In fact, we prefer to eat there everytime we are in town, because its a happy compromise for the families. The only thing I would change is to switch up the salad to something other than an iceburg lettuce, but really thats not that big of a deal. The price for portions are comparable to any of the non chain pizza places. The food is amazing. This has to be my favorite pizza in all of the Columbia Basin, so if you find yourself in Hermiston and craving a bite stop in and try this place. read more

Classic pizza joint that will take you back to the 90's. Probably the best pizza in town, salad bar that serves 3 different jello salads, and a jukebox that plays Barenaked Ladies and Backstreet Boys. A must for a trip down memory lane. read more

I grew up in the area and always loved this place. But, since I've eaten there while visiting family it has been very disappointing. The food has gone down hill and the worst part was the service. My husband and I waited an hour for our pizza, it was dead, the employees were just sitting around talking. When I finally went to ask about the pizza, one of the employees asked the other if it was the pizza that fell! And it was, but they assured us it didn't touch the ground...gross, and terrible customer service. Hermiston please make this a great local place again! read more

Great pizza, good crust, meats were amazing, the lucky 13 pizza has a nice spicy kick, my only complaint, the iced tea was aweful.

Pizza has that cracker crust which I love. Hands down it beats the other pizza in town. Decor wins no prizes though.

Wasn't able to order pizza 25 minutes before close. Had a very unfriendly staff member said she already closed down the kitchen. Sad day.

Just terrible customer service all in all. They acted as if they had better things to do then take my order and then tried to tell me they didn't deliver 4 miles away from the restaurant. First time here based on their people skills and will not be returning. read more

OK first timer here. Heard good things from locals.. then looked online. WOW such griping. Anyway, just got my pizza ... looks amazing. tastes amazing, only thing missing is the bottom grit on the crust? corn meal??? Not sure if they forgot it or what. the rest is amazing... The worst experience I have ever had! 25 people for a birthday dinner that has been planned (reservations) for weeks. One server up top (I felt so bad for MJ). 6 people down stairs, and half of them are on the phone texting. The manager says you just have to be patient. They forget one of the grandparents pizzas. We are all finished eating when they get the pizza. One server comes up stairs with a pizza and pushes her way around, no excuse me or nothing! To top it all off one of the servers gets off of her shift and comes up top and sits at the bar while the poor bartender is trying to fix all the bs. I am pissed that This poor server upstairs has to share her tips with all the lazy texting servers down stairs!!! Needless to say I will not go back! Pass on by, spend your money with someone who appreciates you. This was our third and last try at this restaurant, and they are trending the wrong way! First of all let me say the pizzas are great, but that's about all. The place was dirty every time we were there. Tonight we walked in and found one of the young girls employed there sitting at a dirty table texting away like crazy. ALL of the tables were dirty! We had to ask the counter person to have two tables cleaned for our family of 7. She cleaned two tables, and left without saying a word. Ordering is BS. One paper copy of a handwritten menu at the counter. My wife brought it to our table so we could look it over, just as two other families showed up, and they had to wait! Run away from the salad bar! Let the flies have the rotten wilted lettuce. Our order was placed, and the wait began......... Fifteen minutes went by before our drinks were delivered, two at a time. Our pizzas finally arrived, and most were OK. But after dropping them off at the table, not one employee came back to check on us or offer anything else, including to-go boxes. Hard to concentrate on the food, while fighting all the flies too! So, bottom line is this. While the pizza may be good, the lack of any sense of customer service of cleanliness is appalling. Too bad, cause this could have been a great place. I am not sure they deserve a full star. read more

The employee I encountered tonight had very poor customer service. Walked in the front door and was not greeted, just stared at. I had to greet employee myself, not to mention I was not even spoken to and asked what I would like to order. I walked up myself grabbed a menu and basically helped myself. The employee stared at me until I started ordering)I felt snubbed through my entire order which was very few items and the entire interaction was very uncomfortable and unprofessional to see in a "family friendly environment". I was very kind, thanked her and walked upstairs to the seating area with the long table. The girl brought our drinks to the table and literally sat them on the edge where we couldn't even reach. I had to get up to reach over the table for my drink. As I was leaving this establishment, nobody said anything to us. They were too busy yelling about their personal lives in the kitchen which was easily heard by anybody in the downstairs area. Very dissatisfied in the customer service i encountered tonight. I'm a simple gal. It takes a lot more than ripped upholstery to keep me away from the best pizza I've ever eaten and I've eaten pizza all over the U.S. The gal who took our order, Alena (what is on my receipt) was amazing! She smiled, laughed and was willing to bus our food/drinks upstairs because she said it had been so slow. I was ready to invite her to eat with us, she was that personable! The food was pretty much on point. My boyfriend was a little butthurt he didn't get a pickle with his sandwich but whatev. Then I guess there was a shift change and the new gals were bad... cold. It was about 5:30 when I went out to smoke and one of the girls walked upstairs and locked all the doors. My bf couldn't open them without a key. I walked all the way around to the front and was met with dagger eyes. Why have a smoking balcony if you can't use it? Maybe patio tables lined with ashtrays are the new 'show towels'. Then we asked for a side of hot sauce to take with our leftover pizza. They could provide us with some but since the new girl behind the counter would have to squirt it into a little plastic container it was going to cost us. Mind you, the place was empty. In hindsight I guess we could have just asked for the sauce and sprayed our pizza with it but you know what they say about hindsight. So we pay extra for some hot sauce and bounced never to return again. Note to management; hire some more Alena's and I'll eat there enough to put your kids through grad school. read more

Though I was assured that the space was reserved and would be ready for us, when we arrived the staff was rude and complained about being busy. Another group arrived early for a reservation following ours and the staff loudly announced that we were 'on our way out' (we weren't; many of our party had just received their food). I took the guys out for lunch. The pizza was great! The owner Nick Gillette was incredibly personable. He came out to the table and gave us a little history on the establishment. The Ye Old Pizza Shoppe is a real iconic Hermiston establishment. I moved from the area about 3 years ago and loved the pizza. Stopped by on 3/12/2016 to introduce my husband and step son to this wonderful tasting pizza I remembered. Walked in and from the start the service was terrible. Ordered a large mushroom, beef, and olive pizza, two sodas and an ice tea. The soda tasted very syrupy and didn't have the right carbonation. The ice tea was weak and tasted off. After a 44 minute wait and the customer who ordered after us got their order before us, we finally received our pizza. Durring our entire wait of 44 minutes, not one wait staff stopped by to check on us or assure us regarding the delay. When it arrived, the pizza was burned on the edges and the canned mushrooms were an after thought and were placed on the pizza after it was baked. The mushrooms were cold and had a chemically taste. The few pieces of beef that were on the pizza were hard and burned. The pizza was uneatable. There were three of us and no one finished a whole slice. Left the entire pizza and walked out. Terrible experience. The cost was $35 including tip. Never again, so sorry to see this once wonderful establishment go down the tubes. read more
