He answered his phone right away, listened to the issue, and came plenty prepared. Not only was he fantastic with the service he provided, he was able to get us discounts on the parts we needed, willing to work around us very close to Christmas (even offering to work ON Christmas), and it turns out he can do more than just cars. Since moving to NC, all we ever hear about is how everyone in this state has "A Guy" they know that can do fix-it/handy projects around the house. Clyde at Pass The Wrench happens to be That Guy for us now. It's rare you find someone that loves what they do and is willing to do good work at a good price without trying to swindle their customers for a quick buck. When it comes to local businesses, Pass the Wrench is exactly the sort of place I want my money going because the person running it happens to be just an all around good human. He might be based out of Raleigh, but he services all over and will come to you to fix your car. We're out in Clayton, and he came to us without issue. When it came time for my next oil change, I went in a couple weeks before I had to drive to Nashville so I made sure everything was in working order. They told me I'd needed my flex pipe replaced, and in order for them to do it, they'd have to replace an entire part that would cost way more than was necessary, so they sent me to a cheaper place to get it done. I went to the suggested place that Saturday where I was told they needed to do extra work that would cost $100 extra and they'd have to keep my car over the weekend (requiring me to get a rental). Instead, I waited to call Triangle Car Care on Monday, I asked them what the approximate cost would be for them to just replace everything. He told me it would be way more, but he would check with a buddy of his on the other side of town for another quote for me. He called me back that morning, gave me a ballpark figure, told me I could drop off my car Wednesday morning, his wife would drive it over and he'd have it back to me by Wednesday night so that I'd have time before my trip. It ended up saving me $100 in labor costs and a 2-day car rental. It was SO nice, his wife even waited at the shop for them to work on it. I couldn't believe it, I've never seen such thoughtful service anywhere else. I will definitely recommend them to everyone I know.

(I have my safety inspectors license, so I know what passes and what doesn't.) he said you need 2 tag lights to pass when the law specifically states: "One rear lamp or a separate lamp shall be so constructed and placed that the number plate carried on the rear of such vehicle shall under like conditions be illuminated by a white light as to be read from a distance of 50 feet to the rear of such vehicle." One of my tag lights are brand new and fully functional. These lube techs suck!! He passed me anyways, but be weary of uninformed lube techs trying to get you to buy more than needed.
