The menu is clearly displayed with the most popular dishes pictured with the days on which they are available. We were happy to see that oxtail was one of the offerings the day we were there. Service was quick and amicable. Place was clean. We ordered oxtail with rice and beans. One receives a decent portion for the price. The pieces or oxtail were meaty. However, the food was rather bland. They seemed to have simply seared the meat, made a gravy, but neglected to add seasoning to the meat and gravy. It tasted a bit greasy. The rice and beans were simplest cooked together, but also not seasoned. We asked for hot sauce. They have a small dip container for $1. It's basically watered down jerk seasoning. We were hungry so we ate it. It was fine, but didn't hit the spot for my Jamaican husband and me. read more

This place feeds my soul. I'm from South Florida and miss so much of the food there, so I'm so glad this place fills the need for Jamaican food. If you're new, get the Jerk Chicken. If you're there on Thursday/Friday, get the oxtail!! Highly recommend a beef patty and plantains on the side. Can't go wrong with anything here and the portion sizes are great. First timer at this restaurant. I must say the presentation looks good but the food is not Carib in flavor. It's more soul food meets Carib spices. Food: the food overall has some of the Jamaican flavor, it was there in spirit. The meat (jerk chicken) was juicy (definitely cooked in the oven) and the rice'n peas was mediocre. Portion is great for the price, it's just lackluster in flavor. The cabbage did not have the traditional island spices, that was a disappointment overall. Was not thrilled about getting turkey necks instead of brown stew chicken! The turkey necks were okay but still unhappy about this. Don't lie to your customers! Yummy!! I enjoyed my lil' lunch here and when I say lil I mean lil! Only 6 shrimp, but I understand, shrimp are a costly luxury. So I pay the price and just try to remain present and in the moment while I'm eating to make it last. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. They were not rubbery or overly chewy. The seasoning was flavorful and deliciously spicy and aromatic. The rice and peas were slightly sweet and plentiful! If you're a savory person, add a little bit of salt, but I assure you, when eaten in combination with the shrimp and cabbage, you won't miss it. If the shrimp don't make you full, the rice sure will! The cabbage was absolutely delicious! I wish I had gotten an extra side of it instead of the hot pineapple. Because the hot pineapple was just a hot pineapple... I tried this place on a date because most times you can't find good Jamaican food much less Caribbean food in the Little Rock area. Being a New Yorker I'm used to having great Caribbean, Jamaican and Trini food. So I gave it a try watching their Facebook page. Went in and the menu is a bit different in pricing than their online menu so that's a Takeaway. They need to update their online menu so people don't get surprised. Next is the food. I don't know if anybody told these people, but you're down south and people down south love portions. Especially if they're spending more than $10 an entrée. I got my wife, the brown Stu, chicken and my son, the curry shrimp, and the jerk chicken. Well, they placed five shrimp on his plate with literally no sauce. It looked nothing like the picture and they had the audacity to leave the tails on. In my opinion, that's a bit lazy.... The jerk chicken was decent. My wife stated that being that we had just recently went to Jamaica the food is totally a different level there, but it seemed to her that they just seasoned the food in Caribbean spices and didn't properly grill it in Jamaica everything is put on the grill. There its put in the oven. Secondly the portion size when we're paying $15-$20 an entrée the last thing you better do is be rationing. It seems to me they cook just enough food to get to the shift so they rationing it out if you're going to cook the food and charge that much money at least fill the compartments in the Styrofoam take out. And personally, I don't care to hear along soliloquy about the cost of shipping food. We understand that food that is cooked more naturally and natural spices cost more and people usually don't have a problem with it if they see value for their dollar. Three entrées and a Coco bread. For 61 bucks and tax was just a little bit much. On the flipside, I was pleasantly surprised with the beef patties, which is a favorite staple of mine. The peas and rice was average and the coco bread had absolutely no flavor. It just seems like regular yeast rolls. Well, we'll see how long this one last. read more

There listing on Yelp says that they have delivery through GrubHub, so I clicked the button and placed an order. After about 5 minutes GrubHub contacted me and said that Yeh Mon had cancelled the order. Update: About 2 mins after my initial review the manager of Yeh Mon, "D" called me and explained that the reason the order was cancelled is that one of the dishes ordered is not available on weekends. He wanted to contact me to go over the available options but GrubHub did not provide him any contact information initially. He offered to get us another dish and was very friendly and apologetic. Unfortunately we already made other plans. Based on just the customer service provided on the call. The gentleman at the register is always very polite and wears a mask but the woman in the kitchen wears her mask BELOW her chin. I have seen this on 3 different occasions and walk back out. So I try to support black business but this week was the last time I will purchase anything from this business . Last week was the first time I discovered the location. Although I eat out alot I don't eat fried foods or unhealthy food in general. I don't eat pork or beef. It appears to be a husband and wife team that owns this establishment. I explained to the husband on my last visit that the younger lady who cashed me out ( not the wife ) gave me a beef patty instead of jerk chicken patty and asked him could he replace the patty that I got last time because of the mix up since. He said "no you had to bring it back " with an attitude. Really ? I live in north Little Rock. I'm not driving 10 miles for $3. I'll continue to support other business , that I dine in every week such as wicked taco, Kemuri, Sami sushi, and local lime- go to these places instead if you want to be courteously with respect! read more

The word "Authentic" isn't the best description to use for very MEDIOCRE food, I went and ordered multiple menu items because it's been a few years since I've have AUTHENTIC Jamaican food which I ordered was: the oxtail, Jerk Chicken and Curry goat....and with all I was given more Rice and Peas then the actual entree the oxtail was so small then they refused to sell me the Large option which is offered on their website but not in store, the Jerk Chicken was dried out and obvious its been reheated multiple times throughout the week and not fresh and the Curry Goat left a very unsettling after taste!
