Horrible - they estimated arrival in 15 minutes - it was more like 2 hours 15 minutes!!!

One of the worst taxi services I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I've delt with their shoddy service until now because it was the only alternative, but after my experience today I think the bus is going to be a more viable option. I called at 11:45 to catch the Greyline bus in Westover at 12:30, headed to Clarksburg. A taxi arrived at 12:07 and picked up another passenger who I had seen call for service ten minutes after I had. The driver had assured me that another driver would be coming to get me shortly, after I had notified him that I had a scheduled bus I couldn't miss. I waited and watched two unoccupied cabs drive past me at 12:14 and 12:20, which would have had plenty of time to make the four minute trip to my destination. After being passed by the second cab I called the dispatcher to ask if I still had someone on the way for me because I had a bus I needed to catch at 12:30. Or, at least that's what I was going to say, except as soon as I said "Hi, I was just wondering when to expect my cab..." I was cut off by the dispatcher in a tepid voice saying "It's going to be there shortly" and was hung up on. Aghast by that, I waited for the taxi to arrive to let the driver know his services wouldn't be needed since I wouldn't make it to my destination in time anyway. He arrived at 12:29, the same driver that could have picked me up at 12:07, leaving me plenty of time to arrive at my destination. After being treated so terribly by dispatch and never arriving anywhere I've needed to be on time since I first started using this service, it's a wonder to me why they are still in buisness or why a better alternative hasn't popped up. I'm so terribly disappointed by my experiences with them that I had to sign up just to post this, and hopefully others take heed of their terrible ratings and never give their hard earned money to this sham of a "buisness." read more

Update: I have called for cabs several times from this company and they have all brought me from point A to point B in Morgantown. Besides the cabs being dirty and old, the cab drivers not helping me put my luggage in the trunk and not realising that they should open the trunk for my luggage, and a cab driver making a shady call to his friend and offering to loan him money while driving at night on the hills, the cabs worked. But not today. I called for a cab and waited for 20 minutes and it did not show up. When I called again to check, they refused to pick up the phone. I called a third time and a woman started shouting at me and claiming that I was not present to hail the cab. Completely false. I hung up and then someone (possibly the late driver) called me back from the number 304 319 1477. This time it was a man. I told him the cab never showed up. I repeated that. He hung up. Do not patronise this company at all costs because they do not care about the average customer. Public transport in Morgantown is a wreck. read more

The lady who answers the phone literally runs off customers. I requested a cab, but told the lady I had to be at the airport at 10:30, so I needed the cab to get me there by 9:30. The cab arrived to pick me up at 10:00. The driver said he was never told to be there by 9:30. The second time, I decided to schedule the cab ahead of time and called 4 hours early for a cab to pick me up at 9:30, the lady who answered screamed into the phone, "just call us when you are ready". I said I did last time and you were late, so I am giving you plenty of notice. She refused to take the information down and repeated that I need to call when I am ready. I gave $20 to a neighbor to take me. The third time, I called at 8:30 am and told them I was ready for pickup, just like the lady asked. She responded, "I will get a cab there when I can" I said, will it be here by 9:30? "She said I can't guarantee it". I said well, I need to be there before 9:45, and if you don't have a cab here by 9:30, I will not be taking it and will drive myself. She responded, (get this) "then you should have called ahead of time to schedule" I responded that I tried to last time, and you would not schedule it. She blew up on the phone and said, "then drive your own car!" I asked her if she was the owner. She said no. I said that her boss would probably love to hear that she is advising customers not to utilize them. She screamed back, go ahead and tell my boss. So she felt confident the Yellow Cab boss would back her up. This is what is wrong with a monopoly. This is the only game in town. Right now, I am getting together a coalition of investors to begin a competitive cab company that will give customers a choice and they will have to compete with the best service. It turns out that everybody has a similar story as mine and the others who have been just as frustrated. I am a regular customer who unfortunately has to use the cab company on days when public transportation is unavailable. I am forced to rely on Yellow cab to get to and from work. Despite knowing me as a regular I have dealt with hour+ waits even at very early hours. If you have a time constraint to get somewhere, it's better to call a friend. The customer service is terrible. The drivers are unreliable and could care less about making the customer happy. There are dispatchers who make it seem like they are put out just to get you a ride. read more

I use the cab more twice a week. Either coming from work late night or going out on the weekends. Most of the cabs are dirty and broken down from over use. I recommend calling a minimum of 40minutes to an hour before your expected leaving time (especially if you are wanting to go out on the weekend). If this company was anywhere else, with any competition, they would be out of business. I only give them 1/5 stars. A lot of the drivers tell you to request them but I only recommend Dan or Sam. They are reliable and will make an effort to get you where you need to be and usually have a funny story to tell you! This company gets 3/5 stars because of the service these drivers provide. There is only one dispatcher that is very rude. The others do try and get a driver out to you as quick as possible. Hope this review helps even though you don't have much of a choice. read more

Literally I called 45 minutes ahead of time for a cab at 11:15. I called numerous times while waiting and the rude dispatcher kept saying "you're next on the list ma'am. I don't have an ETA" the driver didn't call me until 12:33. Unbelievable. Never been so disappointed in any service before. Call the new place. At least the dispatcher is More polite. read more

The drivers are incredibly rude, unprofessional and disrespectful. After multiple unsuccessful attempts of contacting his fare, by blaring his horn 10+ times in a small apartment complex very early in the morning, I had enough and asked him to cut it out. People were still sleeping, and no one wants to hear that over and over first thing in the morning. He did it again. I went out to ask if he could contact his fare by phone instead of being so irritating, and was told to step away from his vehicle and was crudely berated as I walked away. As I went into my apartment to inform the police of the disturbance he was creating (and it was a disturbance - not a simple "toot toot", he laid on his horn obnoxiously over and over, and continued to do so out of disrespect) he yelled b*tch and a few other choice words at me from his vehicle, from the middle of the parking lot. This is the sort of driver they have working for them, and understandably the reason Yellow Cab is rated so poorly. read more

One of the worst taxi services I have ever used. They have a monopoly on the market here in Morgantown and terrible service gets rewarded for them. Their cars are absolutely terrible, all completely trashed. The drivers are terrible, rude and will not help at all. To sum it up if you need a taxi on any day that ends with a Y you will either not get one because it takes them 3-4 hours during the weekend or you'll have one of the worst taxi experiences of your life. This was my first time to Morgantown from Washington, D.C. I dialed up yellow cab at the airport not knowing much about the cab scene here. I had the great luck to have Mark Conte pick me up in cab 16. While the cab was quite a bit worse for the wear, Mark was wonderful. Fast, efficient, pleasant and professional. When I got to my destination, everyone said how most cab companies in the area are terrible. I called yellow cab again because it was all I knew. And, as luck would have it, Mark picked me up again later in the day to take me back to the airport. While I can't speak to yellow cab directly, Mark was fantastic. read more

The cabs in Morgantown are typically old, but it's also an old college town so you can't really expect 5 star cabs. Depending on if you are calling during peak hours (school year, football games, friday/saturday late night) you typically will wait about an hour or so. I have a cab driver that I request and call any time I want a cab. His name is Dan and he is great! We call him "Dan the Man". He is really nice and will always put priority to customers who treat him nicely. Dan is great to talk to and is very friendly. Even at 3am there is still a smile on his face! I would leave 0 Stars if I could but I'm leaving one star because they were fast. Mike Allievato was our cab driver if I remember the name correctly and he was the rudest man I have ever spoken to in my life. First off he showed up at the wrong address and called me yelling because nobody was outside and when I tried to give him the correct address that he kept it bluntly interrupting me and telling me "ma'am just walk out to the cab and get in I don't have time for this". So we did, even though it was way far away from where we were. My advice to this jerk is: Dude, this is Fairmont West Virginia not New York City there is no need to have that kind of attitude. This might be one of the worst companies I've ever dealt with in my entire life. I have lived in morgantown for 6 years, only using this company out of necessity and never had a positive experience once.  They are consistently rude, late, and normally don't even answer the phone and will hang up on you at a minutes notice. Haha and notice how the one "good review" was written by a person who works for the company. Oh and in regards to "Dan" the taxi driver below that claims to actually "care about his clients" and take his job professionally.  Well I tried to give him a shot. I called him at 1120 for a pickup. He told me he'd be at my house by 12. 1210 comes around and still no Dan. I call him and he says hes 5 minutes away. 40 minutes later at 1250 he still hasn't arrived, so I call him back and he doesnt answer his phone or respond to text messages. Completely decided to bail on me! He didn't even have the professionalism or courtesy to tell me he wasn't coming. This is not the first driver I've had stop answering their phone and bail on an agreed upon pickup. Was not in a cab but experienced rude, unsafe behavior and driving from one of their finest. Was driving on University Avenue approaching the intersection with Collins Ferry Road. I was not speeding and clearly had the right of way, but the taxi pulled from Collins Ferry into my northbound lane, nearly hitting me. As the driver passed (somehow an accident was avoided) he stuck his arm out, directly at me making an obscene gesture and yelling obscenities. My grandchildren in the back seat got quite a show. I called the taxi company upon arriving home who took a report, but doubtful anything will be done to this miserable piece of garbage. It certainly wasn't anything good for this company whose cabs are horribly smelling to even follow in traffic and I'm guessing worse inside. I have called for a cab to either take me to work or home after work a hour in advance and they are ALWAYS 40 minutes to an 1hr/1/2. I have been using this cab service for about 3 years, give or take&within that time, the overall service has done nothing but decline horrendously. Im not typically one to complain about a company or write a bad review, let alone, write one at all, but this needed to be said&brought to others, especially management/business owners&fellow paying customers attention. Not only have i went from using this company daily to pretty much not at all..the last time was about a month ago, when i called an hour ahead of the time i needed picked up to schedule my pickup time extra early&still waited close to 2 hours, even after calling the dispatch back numerous times to find out the problem..but they're no excuse for that long of a wait regardless of the reason, yet, i sympathized&remained nice&friendly..anyways that was the first time i had used them in about 3/4 months, realizing why i hadn't used them in so long.. Yellow cab in morgantown wv has to be the most unprofessional and disrespectful company I have ever dealt with. It happened the first week of January in 2015. I called a cab at about 5:30 to take me across campus to my friends it was cold and I didn't feel like walking. The cab never showed, I tried to call multiple times to see if they were still coming. every time it would either beep like it was busy or beep ring endlessly. Needless to say I thought this meant my cab was coming, then they show up at 1015 and call me to pick me up. FIVE HOURS LATER I shit you not. This isn't the first time they had pulled something like this. On top of that they are rude from the moment you call to the moment they drop you off. THIS IS VERY TERRIBLE TAXI SERVICE EVER ! I am a student with no car in Morgantown, so I rely on public transportation, either bus, prt or a cab. I used to take cab a lot from doing groceries when i have a lot of stuffs to bring. till I realize that this cab consistently doing terrible job. 1) It makes people wait for hours even in the cold and already make calls for several times. Still, the customer service person will give uncertain answer about when the cab is about to come. 2) I was in a situation when i had to take an aptitude test in the early morning at 8 so i called a cab at 6, but till almost 8, the cab doesn't come. I was so desperate because it's a big deal of test for my future and it's expensive. I called the cab several times till the last call i say that i'm gonna miss my test in a few minutes. Then suddenly, the CS (customer service) person say, why don't u tell me earlier? " At some point i think I make mistake by not saying what I will do earlier, BUT is a taxi service need to know what its customer will do in the destination ? is it their business ? a good taxi company is always prioritize each of their customer based on first come first serve, who's call first, that's being served first. If the cab ask what the customer will do and how important it is, everyone who call the cab is definitely say mine is important, so if they can use the right way of thinking, no matter what the customer will do in the destination, the cab job is only get the customer to destination in order, because every single customer is important. 3) I was in a very sick condition from campus. I was in a high fever. I called a cab from library. As usual waiting for hours till the driver give a call, but he didn't know where the downtown library is. I had to explain every single details about the location when I was outside in front of library in a winter weather. I'm trying so hard to get him to the location while I was sick. Finally, I got in to the cab, but it was inconvenient, it was a gross cab and there was a lady sit next to the driver, didn't seem to be a customer because they talked informally and kinda argued about some stuffs. I was really wanna get out of the cab early, it's inconvenient for customer if they are being served that way. Personal stuffs keeps it and do it personally, not when working time especially when there are customers in the car. 4) I called a cab for my friend at 6.30 am who is gonna go out of town. The bus is at 8.10 am from mountaineer st. when I called and said I need a cab by 7.30, the CS person says that he is not sure if he could get me a cab by that time. So I ask what time is the latest and he is not sure either. Then okay I'll wait. By 7 Am, I called again just to make sure if he think he can get me the cab by the time or not, because if it isn't then my friend and I take an alternative by walking before it's too late, because there is no other public transportation running in the early morning on that day. If I waited for hours like usual, then my friend would miss the bus and the plane, therefore I call the cab to make sure, not to complain. But You might probably never imagine, what the CS person says to me. I was asking "do you think you still can get me a cab by 7.30?" before I finish my words and explanation he suddenly gets angry and put the blame on me, he said " we already sent you a cab and call you but you didn't answer bla bla bla ...Now we can't get you a cab" with a high tone and unending words. And I said "no one is calling me.." before I finish my words, he hang up the phone. That is really harsh. I felt terrible, I thought I did mistake for my friend since I have limited balance, but when my friend check to call me and surprisingly my phone is ringing. So definitely , the CS guy is made up a reason. So be careful ! This reminded me that they ever did it to me before, exactly with the same way and same reason. Now, I know, it seems they want to reduce the load of carrying passangers . It is so rude the way they reject customer while they are in a high demand is by putting the blame on the customer. I don't know what exactly is going on in this company and how they managed it so terrible. My friend and I ended up walking 45 minutes by carrying luggage all the way to mountaineer station passing through the high way. And unbelievable, I saw a cab on my way of walking stopping by in a place. read more
