I have been going to this place ever since I was just a little kid, I have made lots of memories here and spent a lot of birthdays here, love the pizza and the ice cream. The servers have always been nice and done their job very well, nice place for kids. The place is very quiet and well put together. Unfortunately I do have a complaint, I recently went to this place and they charged me 21 for a pizza?!?!? Like seriously? This place sucks honestly. I called one time for some wings. They said it'll take 30 minutes so I pulled up in 30 minutes and they still weren't finished with my order. That's because there wasn't even that many people there. I ended up staying an extra 45 minutes for them to finish my wings, they weren't the best wings and they got cold really fast. I had heard good things about Yellow Mushrooms pizza, but I was disappointed. I would not return. We were a group of 8 which is too large for them. The waitress had us waiting, and then asked if we could leave and maybe come back. There were two nice large open tables at the front of the restaurant, so we asked if we could sit at those tables? She said no, they don't use them. They are for reservations. We asked if they had reservations and they did not, so we asked if we could have one. She hesitated but said ok and we were able to sit there (if this is not an area open to sit I suggest a sign or rope it off!). Service was slow and the waitress was clearly struggling. Pizza was expensive and not very good, it was ok. Shrimp topping was a bit freezer burned. Atmosphere was alright - it was a little dark in the back area. Buffet is pizza only (no chicken or salad etc) but they had a variety being brought out. Oh yeah- as someone else mentioned, when we first arrived I heard swearing coming from the back of the kitchen. Not great for my kids to hear who were with me. read more

Typically they do thin crust square cut pizza, but I like to fold my pizza so I get pie cut. Regardless of how you eat your pizza, it's going to be delish from YM. The sauce is zesty without being too sweet and the thin crust isn't too crunchy. Quality toppings are used. If you take advantage of their nightly specials, it's quite affordable. When you dine in, it's a great atmosphere of a 70's pizza joint. Sitting by the fire is awesome in the winters of Minnesota. read more

Back in the 80's when I first came to The Yellow Mushroom with my aunt, I ordered nachos with jalapeño peppers, the nachos came out with banana peppers cause it was the only peppers they had. Nice little small town restaurant. The service was very friendly and earnest. But SLOW. My guest and I ordered a salad and a sandwich. Took nearly an hour to reach the table. And that was after I got up and inquired how much longer it would take. My sandwich was so so(gyro) and the Caesar salad was made with iceberg, not romaine (boo!) It's a nice and clean place. Staff is very nice. They need to work on speed of service. I wish I would have ordered the pizza because the ones I saw being delivered looked amazing. After hearing good review after good review from my family, coworkers, friends, and locals we finally got around to trying this place... and I was so sorely disappointed. We walked in Friday evening knowing that it might be busy and weren't greeted at all. A kid wearing a tie-dye t-shirt slowly made his way over to us after looking at us what seemed like three times. We weren't sure what we wanted so we decided to grab a menu and take a seat at a table. After taking a peek we all knew what we wanted and walked back to the counter and placed our order to jokes about how we all ordered water but the soda and water cups are the same "ha-ha." My fiance and I both got gyro's with the tzatziki on the side, the little sis got breadsticks with marinara for dipping. We drew on place mats, talked, played on our phones... waited while listening to the terrible drone of the music they had playing.. After about a half hour a rather young looking girl made an entire round of the dining room asking each table (but ours) if they had ordered breadsticks. After failing to convince each table to take them she finally noticed us and walked over to see if we had indeed ordered them. After saying yes, she then thrust them across the table to my sister and asked if we wanted our chicken now. Umm.. what? We explained that we had ordered the gyros she ran back in the kitchen and grabbed the gyros that had obviously been sitting under a warming lamp while they tried to figure out who had ordered what amongst the four tables that were seated. Apparently there is a lost art here of assigning orders to tables that every restaurant but this one has figured out. I'm not one to complain too terribly much about food at a restaurant that isn't "fine" dining, but to give me my food without plating it and checking the ticket is... pretty poor. There was no sauce, at all. I sat for a few minutes waiting to see if anyone was going to see if we were enjoying our food and when it became painfully obvious that they weren't I walked up to the counter and asked loudly if I could have the sauce that we BOTH ordered and did not receive. The woman running the kitchen (who had been seated at a table eating and talking when we walked in) said that she "was so busy she forgot" and didn't apologize at all. At the end of the very lackluster meal that contained no service at all I had to once again go to the counter to ask for a to-go container in which the same woman told me to retrieve it myself from the stack just in the kitchen. This place is so not worth it. The food wasn't very good, the service was TERRIBLE, and for the price... we should have just gone to Barney's Drive In. read more

I used to waitress here back in high school, and although the building has been updated as well as staff, the pizza's still great! If you like thin crust that's substantial and crispy on the bottom with lots of gooey cheese and ample toppings, this is for you! The cheeseburger pizza and house special are fantastic, and if you go on the right day you can get a great deal. After 8 p.m., 8-inch pizzas with one topping are cheap. Yellow Mushroom Thursday - buy one get one free medium and large pizzas! But pizza isn't all they have. They also do home-made friend chicken and mexican dishes... Oh, and how could I forget... Bridgeman's Icecream! The Raspberry Fudge Torte is my personal favorite, but they also have classics like bubblegum, butter pecan, chocolate chip, cookies and cream, etc. If you're brave, order the Lalapalooza. Eat all 8 scoops and get a free button! Why only 4 stars? Because I've had a few friends say the pizza is too "greasy." I just tell them to man up! read more

I really like Yellow Mushroom and it is definitely the best pizza place in Waseca. The only thing keeping me from giving it a five star review is they are a little stingy on the toppings. I am a fan of thin crust, and the pizza is very good tasting, never too greasy, the toppings are fresh, and they have a good variety of toppings and specialty pizza to choose from. I ordered cheese STICKS and a pop to eat while i was there and a 4 piece chicken meal to go. The same waitress who took my order brought me cheese bread. Left before I could say anything. Then never came back so I could correct her. Then my to go order, they brought me out a medium pizza. I ate the cheese bread. Made them correct their mistake about the chicken. This is the best pizza place in Waseca! My mom used to waitress here back when she was in high school, so I grew up on this pizza. Great, flavorful, thin crust pizza. You order at the front counter now and self-serve beverages, so don't expect a waitress. But the food is amazing, so I don't mind getting my own drink! Highly recommend!! My husband and I were passing through Waseca on business and came across this pizza restaurant. It was some the best pizza that I have had in a long time. Great thin crust and fresh ingredients. They happen to be offering a lunch buffet. Very good deal. Per our request they made up a special vegetarian pizza for the buffet so that there was an option besides cheese and meats. Worst service ever and on multiple occasions!!! Wrong pizza, no sauces with fish or breadsticks, missing toppings on pizza, no change on hand when delivering, go to pick up order and had to wait while the waitresses just talked and looked at me and then still forgets half the order. Different portion sizes on food everytime we order for delivery and every other time we order the stuff is burnt so hard you can't even eat it (fish and chicken). We have given multiple chances for improvement but nothing. I call and all I get is oh I'm sorry it won't happen again. We like to keep it local but not anymore. This has got to be one of the better pizza places i have been too. They have amazing thin crust and this is a must visit place.

Love the pizza! The only complaint I have is they are a bit skimpy with the toppings, but overall it has a great taste and is really good!
