We started with the dates wrapped in bacon, but the bacon was quite fatty. The dish was fine, but have certainly had better bacon-wrapped dates. I do appreciate that the main entrees all came with a soup or salad. The soup is a corn and steak soup which is kinda unique but it felt like it should've been thicker, like a corn chowder, whereas actually the soup was quite thin. Decent though. The steak was perfectly cooked and thankfully did not come out on a scolding hot plate like some steakhouses. The au poivre was less of the rich, thick, dark brown sauce I expected and moreso a broken down au poivre with the peppercorn on the steak and the sauce much lighter. But the steak was very flavorful even if the sauce wasn't as expected. The best side was probably the mashed potatoes; the corn was a bit of an odd medley of corn and other vegetables. Our servers were great though, drinks were quick to come out and she was very attentive to any requests.

And the food is really good - the pork tenderloin (brought down from sister bar Digby's was a "grown up" version with flavorful marinated meat encased in a nice breading that refused to crumble off, topped with a mustard sauce and house-made cucumber, onion and jalapeño pickles on a brioche bun that stood up to it all. It's not the tenderloin I had as a kid, but it's a delight for a grown-up. I really like this place, and so does my wife.
