I reserved a 945am to 1145am horseback riding session + the $15 add on & we had a great time! We didn't use the add on but they offer activities at the pond (swimming + kayaking & shooting if I remember right). Hayden was our guide & he was really friendly & knowledgeable about the area & horses. Our group was small too which made the experience more intimate (5 riders + our guide). Eagle Ridge Ranch is affordable, has beautiful trails, well behaved horses & attentive/accommodating staff. We went on a rainy morning & it cleared up in an hour, but the rain didn't bother us. Eagle Ridge is close to Yellowstone, Bozeman & the Tetons so there's plenty to do after an early morning ride. Thank you for the experience!!! read more

This place is amazing we did the two hour ride with the cookout dinner it was a wonderful experience and the food was so delicious jc was are guide for this ride. She is so sweet and so helpful. We loved her very much. She made our experience a wonderful one and three days later we did the three hour riding trip another amazing ride this time Josie was our guide. We had the best ride ever. I highly recommend this place. I will definitely be back every single time we visit. It was beautiful riding the horses through the water through the mountains. They also have water activities available and cowboy cookout experience at their ranch. We did not do the water activities and the cookout as they were sold out. Thank you to everyone on staff for an amazing day! From the moment we checked in (actually, from the moment we signed up via telephone), everyone was friendly and welcoming. Our family of 12 (two couldn't ride) did the 2 hour ride and then played with the water canoes and paddle boats until dinner which everyone enjoyed! We had actually gone to a high rated family style restaurant the night before and paid big bucks for a very disappointing meal. The dinner at the ranch was filling and delicious. We had 5 little girls on the trail ride trying to impress our guide, Tukker with "dad jokes" lol and he was great with everyone. The girls also loved learning how to "rope a steer" (on a log with horns) and the young man who showed them how was the grandson of the owner! My kids (15, 13 and 5) and I had an amazing time at Eagle Ridge Ranch. Everyone there was so awesome. We went on a trail ride, it was about two hours long. Our guide was very friendly, and talked with us the whole ride (great for my son who loves to talk, lol!). The dinner after was great and the scones were SO good. My son had the best time fishing in the pond, and caught some beautiful Rainbows. I wish we could have stayed longer, because there was a lot to do at the ranch besides horseback riding and fishing. We had a great time at Eagle Ridge Ranch and Yellowstone Horses. We bought the $55 package per person package for 14 people, which included a 2 hour horseback trail ride, swimming, and trout fishing all day! The pond included a chain swing, paddle boats, canoes, kayaks, and a trampoline jump pad. The kids had a blast! Fishing poles were provided, they also sold bait and tackle for very cheap. We caught many trout off the dock, and even took their row boats and canoes out and caught more. The horseback riding was a blast! Shane was our guide and he was awesome! The horses were gentle and were very easy to ride for inexperienced riders. We had a blast! Really enjoyed the half-day trip with Porter! They do a short "instructional" presentation before you actually get on a horse: how to steer, stop, go, etc. You also know the name of your horse! The trip took good 3 hrs or so. We went up into the mountains and through the meadows, through streams and aspens. We saw deer and elk. It was absolutely beautiful! My only negative was the "nose to tail" trail, but it might be due to the terrain, although there were open areas when we could ride next to each other. After the ride, we had picnic lunch on the ranch, and then spent another 2 hours on the ranch swimming in the lakes, fishing, and boating. They let you borrow fishing rods and boats all for free. All-in-all it was a great experience and an awesome day! read more

The three hour ride was wonderful! They were very courteous and informative about any questions we had. Our guide was very kind and even changed horses with a person from our group to help them feel more comfortable since they were a new rider. WELL WORTH A VISIT!!! Our family joined the ranch on their 2 hours morning horse ride. I can't say enough about our experience. The staff were phenomenal and extremely accommodating with our questions and inexperience with horseback riding! In fact, we had two children (ages 6 and 8) who, though initially nervous, didn't want to get off the horses by the end. Our trail guide walked right by them and offered pointers and encouragement. Our family blessed us with a trip to Yellowstone and we booked a horseback ride last week. It was an incredible experience, and we had 2 children in our group. The youngest was 6 years old. As we watched the employees match up horses with folks based on their experience with horses, we were nervous the kids in our group would get cold feet. The 6 year old little girl bravely got on her horse for the next 2 hours thanks to our amazing tour guide Sadie. We were baffled how quick everything went by. These guys know their stuff well enough to just meet you and match you up with the perfect horse. Their property was shaded which was nice because we were hot from the summer sun earlier that day. The best part (I'm not even joking) was the bomb cookout at the end. We had the BEST time with the employees at the cookout who made sure we were fed with delicious bbq, scalloped potatoes that were beautifully cooked along with desserts and sodas that everyone loved. Amazing! What a wonderful experience! I took my family here for a day of fun and we all came back with a huge smile in our faces. Susan greated us with her huge smile and warmth, and we immediately felt at home. We rode horses, did bow and arrow, fished, played in the pond, run around. The horse guides were super considerate, respectful and I could tell that they really like working at the ranch and doing what they do. The horses were very responsive and after 2 minutes of riding, I felt absolutely comfortable with it. About the trail itself, I'd like to share with you that the views were breathtaking. So I hate to be the Debbie Downer here but Yellowstone Horses was just barely OK by us. First off, directions from West Yellowstone are a little sketchy and upon arriving, you arrive at Eagle Ridge Ranch. No one told us that ahead of time so it's a little unsettling walking around looking for Yellowstone Horses on Old Shotgun Road with no signage telling you you're in the right place. Horses were in a nose to butt formation 99% of ride on a dusty trail. Afternoon ride produced 0 wildlife sightings. Trail guide was a young high school wrangler who didn't offer much in the way of local knowledge, history and etc. He did offer to take pics at one point in the quiet ride. $50 two hour ride is not bad. read more

My husband and I had a wonderful time! We did the half-day mountain ride. The people there are incredibly helpful, friendly, and understanding. Our guide Cade was great and lots of fun to talk to. The area is beautiful! I especially loved riding through the fields of wild flowers. And maybe most importantly, the horses were absolutely wonderful. They were good and gentle - but they weren't "so broke" that it's boring. You still have to steer them just a little bit and get them going every now and then. We had a blast! It's also really neat how you can fish and swim right there at the ranch. Over all, I was highly impressed. Only semi-bad thing was getting there. It would be nice if they had another sign where you need to turn on to Old Shotgun. We missed it a couple times - had it not been for Siri we would have super late. But aside from that minor inconvenience - this place is wonderful and well worth the money. Highly recommend! read more

This was a highlight of our road trip, and favorite of our five boys. The staff were welcoming and the horses were great. We did the evening ride and despite my initial skepticism it was easy enough for all, including our five and six year olds, to be on their own horses. We also took advantage of the water activities - fishing, boats, trampoline, and a rope swing (the favorite) - making it a full day activity.
