This campground was quiet and very well maintained. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. There were lots of extra amenities, including a pool, laundry facilities, playgrounds, and a dog relief area. We tent camped and stayed on site T1, which had green grass--flat with no rocks or tree roots to worry about. There was plenty of shade, and we really appreciated how few mosquitoes there were. We were able to sit outside comfortably until after dark. The bathrooms were clean, with flush toilets and free hot showers. While the sites are a little close together, they still felt surprisingly spacious. Overall, a great experience--we would definitely come back! read more

This is a very nice campground. There is a short trail that takes you to the Yellowstone River, which is beautiful. There also is a grassy area on the grounds where we saw deer. An ice cream truck was there for several hours. My impression was that there is a rotation of different trucks each day. Check-in was easy and they have a store by the office. There's a good-sized playground too. Sites are gravel and somewhat close to each other. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. The shower and bathroom are combined into individual units so there was a lot of privacy. They were very clean. Easy access to the highway. read more

Quick overnight stay. Place is huge with tons of spots but the turns are very tight We have a 50amp, 40foot travel trailer and we barely fit in our spot, but we were able to manage it. We had a hard time on one of the turns and got stuck, but no major issues. Bathrooms were all communal, including open showers (first place I've seen this way), see pics below - a little awkward but doable. Restrooms were more available at night. Laundry only open thru 9p. Last load is at 7p. Facility thankfully allowed for overnight check in and left all items outside. Close to Yellowstone national park. But also inner city, don't be surprised to see a homeless around. Main office staff were friendly, great, and communicated very well! There were tons of RV campers out at night, walking their dogs, and around fire pits, so made the place very welcoming and safe. May consider staying here again with a small trailer. I don't have time to cover everything... the downside: pull through are so close, rigs can't use their awnings, bbq, etc. there are full time residents here, there's crap stacked up everywhere and there is all night parties. It is loud. No sewage hookups at sites and the dump station is difficult to get to on your way out. Stupid design. We had trouble with electrical hookups. No maintenance person came to look at it. We were forced to move. On the plus side, it's close to town. The dog park is great. read more

Listed as Good Sam member until you check in. They are not affiliated! Large campground with lots of trees but, they put us in a barren area, no trees for shade, no grass, no dump on site. Sites are very tight, roads very tight and they had no internet for our visit (blamming a Starlink failure, that was untrue). Long term residents have consumed the parking areas and around many of their trailers it appears very trashy. Too many stupid common sense policies that only protect themselves and they are clear there will be no refunds for any reason even for emergencies. This place could be a decent stop if they changed their attitude and gave a crap about their customers or underwent customer service training. I only stayed one night, and that was one too many. Wow! I am absolutely blown away at how this camp caters to tourists and travelers yet has ZERO people skills from the management / owners. Started w our kids getting in trouble for climbing a tree at our campsite. Very grumpy lady in the golf cart is nearly yelling at the kids to get out of the tree. I walked over to find out what was going on to get a lecture about kids not being in trees... "that's why we have a playground". Fine. I tell the kids to stay out of the trees. I then went up to the front office bc our site didn't have a picnic table. Asked them if we could get one. Front office girl was sweet and called the owner who informed her they were "too busy" and they don't have one available. Ok. Super irritating but I'll deal with it. Then today. We just pulled back in from a day at the zoo. She asks if I trimmed the branch off the tree so I could back into my site. Yes ma'am. I sure did. Why did you do that? Do you think it's ok to just cut our trees? Why didn't you ask our front office? Me almost laughing. First confirming she's the owner. I don't even have the energy to type out the stupid "conversation" that then took place. I'm a pretty easy going guy. Don't get riled up easy. But I can't stand nasty people... ESPECIALLY WHEN I'M PAYING THEM for there alleged hospitality. I would stay in a Walmart parking lot before staying here again. read more

Arriving on Monday the park was quiet. We were assigned a back in spot in the new section. Our 5th wheel is 41'. The sites are tight with only a small space in between. Our truck did not park off the road so occasionally had to move to make room for traffic movement. We did enjoy being back by the field. But couldn't figure out why much smaller trailers were assigned the pull thrus and our trailer as well as huge class As were in the back ins. The weekdays were fairly quiet but by Friday the park was packed with little space in between - felt like a huge parking lot with hookups! Staff was helpful and friendly. Shout out to Brit for his assistance. Although listed as a site with cable ours did not. We were able to get a few channels with the antenna. T Mobile service was great! We appreciated the close proximity to Hwy 90. Overall we enjoyed our stay but was definitely overpriced ($85 a night) for the amenities offered & used. read more

I stayed for 7 nights. This was a wonderful spot with a beautiful view. Little bit high in price and you can hear the airport is my only complaint. Other than that, staff were beyond friendly and kind. Campground was kept very clean! Pool was decent. Bathrooms were Kept clean as well. Will definitely be staying here when we come back. read more

Our stay at Yellow Stone River Campground was below mediocre and should be concerning for parents. Mind you my family and I only stayed ONE day. We were all very exhausted on arrival. Going into the shop/office, the staff was okey. There were young looking kids at the register and there were many questions unanswered. While looking through the store my younger sister and I over heard and conversation between a older man (late 50s) checking out; asking a 15 year old girl behind the register why she had not kissed any boys yet. The ending of that conversation was very awkward and silent. Me and my sister were extremely uncomfortable. This is not the only discomforting thing Yellow Stone had to offer. Not only were the spot WAY to small, there were kids everywhere in peoples camp grounds including ours. I can agree with many of the other reviews to go some where else. This is the CHERRY ON TOP please do not miss this part. Once set up with the little room we had, my family went to the game room. The game room consists of a ping pong table and a book shelf(pictures down below). On said book shelf there are several inappropriate books displayed next to children's books. There are pictures down below. This was extremely disappointing to see in a place meant for kids. Upon seeing these books we immediately told the staff. The following day the books were still there. Please go some where else! I am beyond disappointed and disgusted. read more

The spots are WAY too close together. They park 2 RV's in what I would consider 1 spot. You are literally right next to each other. We had to ask for a new spot because we couldn't even slide out our slides in the first spot they gave us. The guy next to us said he couldn't slide his slide all the way out. My husband and I stayed here for about half a year, and this is one of my favorite campgrounds that we have lived in so far! The location was perfect - super quiet but within a few minutes drive to anything you could possibly need. The sites are nicely sized, you have a fantastic view of the cliffs, and just a short walk to the Yellowstone River! The staff is absolutely fantastic, and always extremely helpful and pleasant. Super cute gift shop, too! I literally can't think of any complaints about this place. I will absolutely stay here again next time were in Montana! read more

I called and made reservations for a tent site a couple weeks in advance for our trip. We booked a tent site and were told we could have 3 tents per site. I was emailed a confirmation including price for the 3 nights we were staying would be in total 160.38, needing to pay 53.46 to hold the site. After the first night of staying we we went to pay the remaining balance and were charged for the remaining 106. Shortly after, we were told that we needed to pay more for having more then one tent on the site. Then it was a a fee per person. I attempted to speak with management showing our email confirmation and they refused to honor the email and original price they stated. The property is very pretty, but not worth 320.22 for 3 nights for a tent site, especially when we were told 160.38. Let's start with the good things because they are far outweighed by the bad..... 1. Internet is one of the best we have encountered at an RV park. 2. Grounds are clean. 3. Definitely one if the nicer off-leash dog parks we have encountered at an RV park. 4. Antique farm equipment collection is cool. 5. Oops... Ran out of good points..... Now for the bad. The list isn't as long, but the bad is really bad.... 1. All of the pull through spaces are designed for 2 rigs to pull in from opposite directions. 2. There is no space to BBQ, pull out your awning to sit outside, and barely enough room to put your slides out if you have a neighbor because your rigs are right on top of each other; you'll be lucky to even open your door. 3. The staff act more like disinterested volunteers following horses in a parade with shovels. Now if the crappiest design for an RV park, miserably tight spaces, and delightful staff isn't enough to make you stay away, the next one will... For all of the horrific aspects of this park you'll have to pay 68 bucks a night.... Yes, I said sixty-eight dollars!!! We have stayed at 4-star luxury RV resorts that have perfect layouts, beautiful landscaping, friendly staff, even massage & spa services for less than 68 bucks a night... The owner of this place is so far out of touch with reality it's almost scary. The only thing that keeps this disaster of an RV park in business is location. The really sad part is that they could drop some sites, not all, just a row. Make them "single tenant" so only one RV could be in the spot, and add some grass and a picnic table to make the spaces worth a higher price. Then drop the price on the rest of the spaces to rates normal RV parks charge, and the whole picture would change. Very sad that they choose the rip-off their customers instead... I would drop the jacks at a Walmart before staying here again, and we have never done that before, so that's gotta say something. read more

As I approached the desk at YRC, I was greeted with a smile and inviting question of..."may I help you ?" The reason that I was there was I was having an electric problem at my campsite. Once I explained the situation the staff member said, "Let me call someone to come to your site to help you." I no more than got back to my site when a gentleman pulled up in his pickup. His name is Brit. He checked the voltage reading on the receptacle post and then my cord. Everything checked out. He then suggested that the problem may be in the RV. I gave him permission to enter and he fixed the problem, in short order, free of charge. He was courteous at all times. Come to find out, he's the owner. The camp is well organized, very clean and secure with security people making periodic rounds. Also, a food truck on the premises offers excellent food for those to weary to cook themselves or need a break. My wife and I will return. read more

The sites are very small. All the RV's are on top of each other. Very little outdoor space so couldn't really sit outside. $90 a night to be shoehorned in a space. Internet wasn't good. At least the bathrooms and showers were clean. read more

Beautiful park and gift shop. But, the spots are way too close together everyone is packed in like chickens in a coup. No room to sit outside unless you want your neighbors slide out in your face. The grass is only where your electric water, etc is. The free wifi never actually works, there is no connection. The pool "open till 10" closed at 9:30. My kids after a long day of traveling wanted to go play till it closed and had no chance to. The dog parks are terrible for medium to big sized dogs they would jump out like nothing. Beautiful trees but that's about all good about it. Really sad being that for full hookups its 80$ a night is a complete waste being spent here. read more

It's a very nice park but way overpriced. Plus $20 amenity fee? We have all the amenities with us we need. Left another KOA early ahead of traffic, drove 7 hours and got charged another $10 an hour early arrival. Lots of other parks to choose from next time. We have stayed in every kind of campground/RV park imaginable over the years, and tonight I saw something at Yellowstone River that was truly remarkable. First, the park is lovely -- nice staff, lots of pride in the well-kept landscaping, clean swimming pool, new bathrooms. But what really impressed me was this ... A bad thunderstorm moved through and left sites and the driveways littered with leaves and branches. (The park has amazing trees.) Within seconds of the rain ending, four staffers -- turned out to be the park's owner, her son, her grandson and an employee -- were out scouring the grounds ... and I do lean scouring. Picking up leaves, branches, making everything pretty again. It was inspiring. THAT is how you run a business that gets my loyalty. read more

After a long day of driving, arriving at Yellowstone River RV Park was such an absolute joy. The staff were extremely kind and provided us with great recommendations for exploring the surrounding areas. They led us to our camp sight and ensured that we were comfortable and got situated, and we loved how clean the grounds were and how nice all of the shade was from the treed lots! I would stay there again in a second next time I'm through the area. Bonus points - the WiFi there was better than any other RV Park we stayed at for our entire trip. read more

I have to say that the people who run this place were beyond awesome we made a mistake and booked into a site with no sewer when they found this out they moved us to a bigger site with the sewer and only charged his half price they went out of their way to take care of us super friendly. The signs were new the flowers were beautiful all in all I loved the location. Not so good was if you go into the back area by the river and you have a dog beware the ticks were horrible. Also not to sound like a snob but there were some full-time people in the back row who were in and out all day walking through everyone's campsites and basically being a nuisance. So I took a star away for that if it hadn't been for those people I would've given it five stars read more

this is a beautiful place. trail to the Yellowstone River from the rv park. Not an immediate view. Flowers everywhere, nice store, clean laundry facility, friendly and efficient young folks working to check you in and help. Looks like lots of long term folks (for the summer maybe?) but no concerns at all about that. We stayed in a pull through elec/water only site. Only downside is they are quite tight, two sites right next to each other, both pull thru in the same direction, and one of those has utilities on the other side. If you are a stickler about site, I'd request the larger fhu pull throughs. This is a great park, and I would return anyday. PS There is a KOA next door, don't get the two confused! read more

Wow, we paid 85 a night, just to sit on top of our neighbor. We have a 44ft toy hauler and like the rest of the dually we had to park in over flow. They park two in a spot, a smaller 30ft showed up. And with our porch (toy hauler ramp door) out, we literally sat two feet up from them. It's almost comically how close you are. Some look like only the glass in their slide kept them from eating at the same table. We couldn't put our awnings out, and when we opened our living room shades we saw the neighbors 3 boys peeing in the bush! Hahaha. The dog parks and all grass areas are super clean, and it's close to a bike path that runs though town. read more

they try to park two campers side by side into what is clearly originally meant for one camper. we had to go back and request a move as our slides and steps would have hit the camper next to us and the hook ups are on the wrong side. gravel spots no grass. internet doesn't work. early august hordes of yellow jackets attack you the minute you go outside. got stung the minute we arrived and they won't stop swarming the front of the camper and our screen door. looks like a lot of long time people just live here in their campers. read more

This campground has a beautiful entrance and a cute gift shop. There are a lot of trees and a nature trail down to the Yellowstone River. That is about all of the good things I can say about this campground. We paid $62.00 for water and electric for one night. The fee didn't even include the cable TV. The electric and water hookups are on the opposite side of the coach so we had to use an extension cord for the electrical and go underneath the coach to hook up. We didn't have a long enough hose to reach the water as our 20' and 10' hoses weren't long enough. The spaces are not very level and we had to max out our jacks on one side and we still weren't quite level. Plus the wifi was not very strong. There are so many trees that we could not get our satellite to hook-up either. The office was staffed by young kids and there were no adults inside. I think the oldest might have been in high school. They were polite and friendly. Next time I will stay in another town other than Billings. read more

We already miss this campground! Its towering trees, immaculate grounds and the MOST friendly staff/owners absolutely made our trip! We felt like we were in the middle of the wilderness on our hike to the Yellowstone River, and it's all within minutes to the city center of Billings. We also went on a fun bike ride along the Rim to Yellowstone Kelly's Memorial Park. We could have ridden the trail all the way back to within a 1/2 mile of the campground! We stayed here for a couple of nights in mid October, and all we could use was the electricity because they had shut off everything else. It had gotten cold one night earlier in the week, so the decided to shut off all of the water, which meant that you couldn't use the bathrooms, showers, laundry, or the water hookups. I guess it could be OK in the summer, but it seemed a little early to shut off all of the water. Not being able to use bathrooms or showers at an RV park is a huge inconvenience, and they still charge you for water & electric only, even though you couldn't possibly use any water. read more

Omg we practically ate dinner with the neighbors, the spots are so close together. The park has 2 rv's parked in what one would consider a single space. We had no room to put our awning out and enjoy the beautiful weather. The amenities are fairly descent but do not make up for the lack of space. A comical moment was when the neighbor told us "if we open the windows we can pass the soap back n forth". There is probably about three feet between our rv and both the neighbors. If our rv was any bigger we would not have fit. I was hoping that since this is a family owned place it would be extra accommodating. The staff is very nice but we will definitely not be passing through here again. The price is outrageous for such little space. Thankfully we're only here for one night. Edit: we just tried to use the hot tub and the women checking us in was nice enough to inform us where it is but not the time it closes or that it was closed. read more

Pros: clean and quiet. Cons: very close together and the dog area had the sprinklers running from when we arrived at 3:30pm until we went to bed at 11:30. We even asked them to turn them off since dogs have to be on leash in the campground. It never happened. We made many trips around the park to let our little guy stretch his legs. It was a good alternative to a hotel for a hot shower but that was about it...nothing special here. read more

Staff was friendly enough but the park was less than half full and they parked a rv next to us so we had to put in our awnings. Showers are small small but clean. This park is beautiful and well-kept. It is very close to Billings KOA. I love the antique farm collection, old trees that give you lots of shade, lights around the park, strong wifi signal, and mostly I love the paved roads. Shower rooms and laundry room are always clean and neat. (Laundry room closes after Oct 15). There is a pool, game room, dog areas, and a kid playground. I love their private trail leading to the yellowstone river, just about 5 minute walking. Cons: RVs park very very close to each other, you will definitely lack your privacy. We stayed for a bit while on a road trip. What a welcome place to stop for a while! There are huge cottonwoods all over the campground- so it's got a real nice look to it and a lot of shade. The whole place was clean. The family that runs the place seems to take good care of it. They were helpful and nice. Bathrooms were in good condition, showers had great water pressure...there's nothing bad I can say about the place! read more
