So I was pretty hungry and wanted to buy something at my local 99cent store so I stopped there first and decided to try this place. Inside was actually more rabies than I thought about 7. Heard from friends who live nearby that this place is pretty good so decided to check them out when I was in the neighborhood. Got an order of their 3 roll lunch special $14.95 for take out and glad I did! The restaurant is in a residential area with a handful of other restaurants and businesses in the same block. Inside it's not very large, seating for probably twenty people at the front of the store. Two sushi chefs work behind a small counter at the back left of the store that seats four. The register area and order pickup is at the back. The order was ready in about 20 minutes after I called it in. For my three rolls I got yellowtail, salmon avocado and eel. Each came with 6 pieces, generous fish to rice ratio, and the fish was fresh. Good sized pieces of fresh avocado too. Came with a small miso soup (or salad), with standard pickled ginger, soy sauce and wasabi on the side. In the spectrum of sushi places, would consider in the top 40 percent, and I'd be happy to eat here again. $14.95 is also a price for three rolls that you won't find in Manhattan anymore, so I appreciate the affordability. First off, I absolutely love Yellowstone Sushi! I've always ordered sushi rolls here because they're consistently fresh and delicious. Tonight I decided to be a little adventurous and try sashimi for the first time. I ordered the sashimi appetizer, not realizing it's normally an assortment of different fish, and I had requested only salmon. They called me to explain the menu and, as a one time courtesy because I didn't know, they kindly offered to make it with just tuna and salmon instead. I want to be clear that this was a special accommodation they made for me and not something they normally offer and would never expect a restaurant to do but very much appreciate it . I thought that was incredibly thoughtful and such wonderful customer service. They took the time to call, explain everything, and make sure I had a great first sashimi experience instead of just sending the standard order. Thank you so much for your kindness! I wasn't expecting much but I was craving some sushi and decided to grab some take out from this place on my way home. I was pleasantly surprised. Inside wasn't very large. You have to go to the back to order. I got two spicy tuna roll. After putting in my order I paid cash which saves me 5% and sat to wait. They were relatively quick and I was soon on my way home. When I finally had the sushi I was surprised at how expertly they rolled these sushi. There was a perfectly thin amount of rice hugging the outside of the seaweed while the super soft spicy salmon made up the filling. I'm glad I stopped by. read more

They haven't had good sushi in a while..I never tried this place before but I was willing to bet they were probably better than the ones in Elmhurst... Sushi rolls aren't too big but still decent sized considering these times.. good amount of fish... My parents enjoyed it much more than Akino. My mom loved the shrimp tempura rolls. Lunch special rolls comes with salad, soup or a drink. My father didn't like the tuna rolls too much but he's very picky. We love going to this new sushi restaurant in the area! We have been here twice in the past month and plan to make it a regular lunch/dinner spot. The staff is very friendly, genuine, and courteous. The restaurant is incredibly clean. I find this important for a place that sells raw fish. The rolls are nicely crafted, miso soup is delicious (not too salty). We have ordered tuna rolls, salmon and eel. All are plump and delicious. At the moment they do not have their liquor license. They will probably have one soon. We have been waiting for this place to open as soon as we saw the sign that sushi was coming. This was one of the types of food that was needed in this area! Got the salmon avocado, spicy salmon and eel avocado rolls. We were pleasantly surprised and very pleased! The portions were great. Little rice (which is perfect and how it should be), very fresh fish and a delighful sized bite for each piece. Fish portions were good. Didn't take long to receive the food, either. Salad was normal and the ginger dressing was on point. It's pricier than Umi on Metropolitan and on average/ a bit cheaper than Bamboo Ya on Austin. We like Umi because its cheap and Bamboo Ya for its quality. This place is right in the middle. Granted, it's pricier but they make up for it with quality. Small local sushi store, good for casual lunch/dinner. We got 3 rolls for $13 and udon stir fry for 10. Rolls have very thin layer of rice on the outside. Fish in the middle is decent, they are not cheap on the amount of ingredients. Beef Udon has good flavors, but beef is kind of dry. I highly recommend the YAN Roll, Beef Teriyaki (entree) and chefs special rolls. Servers are friendly and work quickly. Overall I enjoyed the experience. BIG WELCOME BACK!! Grand opening, not sure how long they have been open but we were the only customer. Restaurant is super clean and the bathroom (unisex) is decorated nicely. Server was very attentive, we didn't have to ask for refills, sushi was fresh, and the pineapple shrimp was also very good. Parking is on the street, we didn't have an issue finding a parking spot a few spots away from the front of the restaurant, this was around 4:30. I would definitely visit them for their lunch special, and their prices outside of the lunch specials weren't bad either. We ordered five rolls, pineapple shrimp rice, and two green teas and our total was a little over $40 for two people. The aftermath of 3 delicious bento boxes pictured above!! We forgot to take pics before digging in. We were blown away by the freshness and wonderful tastes of the bento boxes we ordered. Chicken, beef and tofu - one thing was more delicious than the others. This felt like pre-covid good eats!! The owners are attentive and their kids are very sweet (even helping mom with the service). The items were fairly priced. From sushi rolls to bento boxes and noodle soup, a lot of variety for someone that may not want just sushi. We ordered salmon avocado roll, dragon roll, spicy scallop roll and a nabeyaki udon. More than enough food for two people for a light dinner.
