    creamy zuwaikani pasta
    Brian S.

the creamy zuwaikani pasta is so good if i come back im always ordering it. the snow crab definitely isn't super fresh and smells slightly fishy but when you get a mouthful of it with the spicy cod roe pasta it is so good. theres a lot more acidity than expected maybe from the lemon juice but it contrasts nicely with the creaminess. service is friendly and fast and space is fun.

I came back after a year and it was even better than the first time. The food was amazing rich, flavorful ramen, perfect karaage, and a cold Asahi beer that tied everything together. The atmosphere and service really make you feel like you're in Japan, a truly authentic izakaya experience. I had a great time and will definitely be back.

Fun little late night spot. Lucked out on a Saturday and was able to sit at a communal-esque table. Standard izakaya fare - takowasa, takoyaki, etc. Cash only but they take Zelle.

It feels like an izakaya once you walk in. This place can get busy certain nights and it is pretty small so make a reservation in advance if you can. If not, you can queue. Food here is okay for the prices - nothing is super mind-blowing but a solid spot for izakaya food (smaller portions). They offer bento boxes, dons, ramen and small appetizers. I would recommend getting a few things to share.

This is my second time eating here. This time I came with my friend Nilsa. She ordered the chicken teriyaki donburi and I got the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen. We shared the Karaage for appetizers. What can I say, we both loved our food. I asked for wasabi on the side and added more red pepper to my ramen. I like my soup with a little kick. I wished I have a larger stomach so that can order a second ramen lol

Another wonderful visit to Izakaya Fuku. This is my 3rd time here and it never misses. We got one of their sushi rolls this time too. It was okay, nothing out of this world. I'd always go back for the mentai udon and carbonara udon.

Been here a few times. The vibe is good. They play really good music you step into the restaurant and you feel like you're in a local bar in Japan. They do get pretty busy here so prepare to wait. It is a small place. The food comes out pretty quickly. The menu is pretty small. It is like a small tapas type restaurant so if you're hungry order a little extra. I would say this place is about the total experience, not necessarily the food. People come here for drinks, small plates, and to chill out.

Decided to try the ramen here on a rainy weekend. Decor is very cool and hip. We ordered 2 kinds of ramen, food was good and had some bold flavors, chicken seemed taste alright, next we would skip chicken substitution and stick to Chashu pork.

Food was flavorful here. The beef Tongue didn't taste like tongue if that makes sense. It almost tasted like a thicker thinly sliced brisket from a KBBQ spot. Well marinated and seasoned (think charred, salt, pepper, and soy sauce flavors) comes topped with scallions, a wasabi lemon sauce, and lemon to top it off. The noodles is sort of a Japanese take on Carbonara, my wife whose Italian liked it and so did I. The bento box is quite filling it comes with a plethora of items, would recommend getting it..comes with a flavorful mayo sauce that I can quite put my finger on the flavors that come out of it. But think Kewpie mayo mixed with lemon and dill. Service was good as most people who came in after us were ordering take out. Ambiance is really cool, reminds you of a Tokyo diner/bar. Definitely would come back here to try their other eclectic dishes.

    Spicy Cod Roe Onigiri

This is a great izakaya spot! It's small inside but it feels cozy and the decor is great. It feels like you're being transported to a local Japanese pub. The food is also delicious. Izakaya-style food is usually small portions but that means you can try more things and there's certainly a lot of things to try on the menu! The karaage was one of my favorites - meaty chunks of chicken that were perfectly fried. They also have several mentaiko items on the menu and we just had to try a few of them. The fries were super crispy and the mentaiko sauce paired well. The creamy mentai bacon udon was heavier for sure and the udon was on the softer side. I would order this again but the pasta version. The spicy cod roe onigiri was on the fishier side and to be honest, by the end of all these mentaiko dishes - I was mentaiko'd out haha. Also, I'd highly recommend the ramen! I did not expect the ramen to be as good as it was. They don't have an extensive ramen menu and maybe that's why it was so good. I tried both the black garlic and the spicy tonkatsu and they were flavored really well. The portions are also very generous. After a few bites, it was getting to be on the salty side but I would still order these again. Highly recommend visiting and this is an izakaya spot that I would come back to! The prices are also pretty good too. My friend has been here several times and also recommend their rice bowls.

An exquisite izakaya experience and worth the price! First of all, the decor is straight out of Tokyo. The wall art, memorabilia and even the bathrooms seem like they were transported from Japan. Even some Japanese pop music played in the background to give you all the vibes. The servers were attentive and friendly. The food was amazing, and worth the price. We had the salmon nigiri, the grilled yellow tail, and the octopus salad. All were amazing! The extensive sake menu was great too, and a bottle is ideal for sharing with a group of 2-3 friends. I would love to visit again and try more of their awesome food and sake!

Came here on a Saturday night with a party of 8 and we were thoroughly impressed with the food. It's a small interior and reminds me of a real japanese bar/restaurant like you'd see in Japan. The menu is extensive and so we're glad we came with a big group because we got to sample everything. Food was delicious and they use real wasabi root! Black garlic ramen was perfectly balanced with the crunch of the woodeared mushroom. Service was pretty good, they refill water and ask if you need tissues. Definitely a "hidden" gem on roosevelt ave.

This is easily one of my favorite izakaya spots in Queens. The vibe feels just like a cozy local bistro in Japan--warm, casual, and inviting. The food is consistently good, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. It's the perfect spot to unwind after work since they stay open late. Love this place! Just a quick memo. They're cash only!

The waitress still gave us plenty of attention and met all of our needs. The food is good and simple. You come here and know exactly what you are getting. We got a couple of plates for variety. Food: 4/5 I was happily surprised by diverse amount of fish that they offer! Though I ended up getting a pretty basic assortment of sushi. But, it was quite good and fresh.
